I love that you are sharing parts of your diabetic journey as well! I’ve been type 1 for 13 years and just got the Omnipod last week! I’ve been doing pen injections this entire time. I’m definitely going through an adjustment period with everything but I can tell it’s going to be great!

I have always had a purse that holds all my diabetic supplies. It helps prevent me from loosing my stuff (most of the time). Take a breath, you are brand new to type 1 diabetes and to the omnipod and there is a learning curve. You will get through this girl!

I also had the pod for over a year. I had my in my stomach the whole time. I always had a higher waist line bottom on so you never saw it. I never did my arm or legs because I didn’t want anyone to see it or me have issues with clothing. Hope this helps
USE AN AIRTAG ON THE OMNIPOD. Stick it straight on the back of it. Link it to your phone. If you lose your phone you use the "find my iPhone" system. Once you find your phone you can log into the AirTag locator it will tell you it's location. You can also have it set up to have it go off if you walk away from it after a certain distance. Some AirTag's even let you use the tag to locate your phone just push the button.
I’ve been cruising with RC since I was baby and remember it being one of the best things ever!! I would beg my parents to take me to the kids club and literally would never see them during the cruise except during meals. and this summer I’m taking my baby on a cruise for the first time 🥲 it’s going full circle and I can’t cope with how fast the time has passed
I understand your frustration with being diabetic and wearing our devices with our clothes. There are some clothes I just don’t feel like I can wear depending on where my device is! You’ll get used to it but you are beautiful as always!
I have a Dexcom and have to carry my meds and phone and sometimes don't want to carry a big purse, so I found really pretty phone purses at Kolhs that fit my phone and Humolog pen. I carry my phone purse with me at work, especially around the office because the Dexcom has a 20 ft distance and if I leave my phone for too long it starts screaming that it can't find me 😂
It takes time to get use to having something attached to you all the time, but you learn little tricks here and there to conceal the insulin pump and be comfortable. EVERY pair of pants I own has holes in the pockets to route my tubing from my pump in my pocket to my stomach site or leg, give it time
So much fun, we are going on our first cruise in December on the 17th .. looks like so much fun, I've heard you could find other places to eat while they do their formal dinners 🍽️ since you didn't take a suite Hunter .. if you have any tips on arrival or threw out the cruise please share ❣️ mine will be Cozumel , Belize

You are so lucky they let you get on the ship. I know stories of people being denied to get on the ship becuase their maiden name was on their passport and not their new name. I'm glad yall are enjoying yourselfs though!
My daughter has the dexcom and omnipod like you do. Her old pdm we could slip an AirTag in the case. Was a lifesaver ! But this new one it doesn’t fit. If you can figure out how to put and AirTag on it let me know!
So excited for you two! It’s been forever ago since I was on a cruise. I got so sea sick because dummy me went to gym and decided it was a good idea to keep up my workouts on vacation. The problem was i started with the treadmill and it was in the front of the ship overlooking the water, let’s just say I didn’t workout the rest of the cruise and I was good! Our room was literally at the back of the boat and I didn’t feel it all. My favorite part was dinner every night all the waiters/waitresses would dance around and just be silly. I really miss the lava cake!😂
My wife and I both joined the military at the same time, and both wanted to travel….we got stuck in Texas for 10yrs. We didn’t get a traditional ceremony because we met in basic training and had to decide really quick as we started our job training. That way we could apply for joint orders.being in Tech School we couldn’t just take a week of and go on a honeymoon. Once we finally both made it to our first duty station we could finally live in the same place together. And when we had leave we had to break it up to go to one side of the country or the other to visit families. She was West Coast and I was West Virginia, LOL!! After I was medically retired we just can’t afford to even go to an amusement park let alone an actual vacation. We’ve been married for over 20 years now and all of that except the last one year and 11mo. it’s just been the two of us. Spend every spare dime on the next medical procedure that was supposed to help us have children. 3 ivf attempts being the most expensive. Finally we have a son though. Maybe one day we will have a honeymoon and a week of be pampered and living the good life. But I don’t know what we would do with our son… I’m not sure my wife would leave him that long. We’ve still made a good life with what we have. 20 years of marriage wasn’t hard at all. It went pretty fast trying to think back on it.
Always rotate your sites! If you do not, the absorption is poor. I never heard of wearing the pod on your back but...just don't forget when you exercise, you need to lower your basal rate significantly!
As a fellow type 1, a fanny pack will be your best friend. Instead of nice purses I buy luxury fanny packs😂 but it's the best way to keep either your pump, or in your case, your extra device. ❤❤
The trip seemed amazing. I was just shocked at seeing an elevator on a ship. How was the food on the ship? I always wondered do they have professional chefs on a ship or just line cooks from chain restaurants. And what about the food in Haiti? But since you mentioned this I was wondering how is the Omnipod experience in general? The medtronic I use, it's insert and sensor is smaller and less bulky but I find the adhesive tape falls off at times and the tubing can't be kinked and you will get no insulin delivery messages at times. But as long as you're able to maneuver with the Omnipod, it's all good. Was looking into different pumps and wondered what your opinion of it was.
Tell Hunter to be careful swimming in international waters. Especially don't urinate while in the water. There is a tiny catfish that will follow the urine stream into your pee pee and you can no longer go wee wee without scweeming! 😂😂

If you want to continue using the Omni pod you could always get an Apple tag and attach it to the machine so you can track it if needed 👍🏻
