    hi. i bought zen go but in 34 pre amp i have very low voice record, and with about 50 to 55 it goes well (i am afraid of cliping in high preamp) is it normal that with 30 to 40 preamp i have low and weak voice? (mic tested: at2035 and rode nt2a. and with sure sm57 i have to set 60 to 63)

    Hi. Thanks for the vid.I bought the bundle with Zen Q Synergy, Edge modeling mic and 37(?) plugins and loving it.
    I could really use some guidance on setting up gain staging for basic male vocal recording wtih the Edge into Pro Tools. I can certainly dial in an appropriate input level on the internal preamp alone. But I'm trying to understand gain staging when tracking with a few plugins. Specifically, I want to record with a stock Antelope preamp (such as the BAE-1073) and a initial stock compressor (such as Impressor)... leaving room for additional compression in the mix. Any advice on gain staging settings across the hardware preamp, software preamp and compressor is greatly appreciated.
    Similarly, what would be my optimal hardware preamp gain setting if I was to record dry and do all the processing in post?
    Thanks so much!

    • @AntelopeAudio
      @AntelopeAudio  3 года назад

      Hello Rob,
      For the Discrete 8 SC, the major difference between USB and Thunderbolt use is in the channel count - 24 vs. 32 channels respectively. Also, you can achieve lower round-trip latency over the Thunderbolt connection. With a fast CPU powering your computer, you can go pretty low over USB just as well, at the lowest buffer sizes. Should you have any other questions, we remain at your disposal.

    Does not have an option/button/control to easily hear a mono mix, does it?
    Also, is it correct that the reverb is for monitoring only and cannot be recorded on the way in? You say it "will not" be recorded on the way in, but do you mean it *cannot* be recorded on the way in?
    That's a bit unusual, no?

    • @AntelopeAudio
      @AntelopeAudio  3 года назад

      Hello RJB,
      Thanks for your comment! There is no "mono test" functionality on the interface. However, we do take such remarks into consideration, this will be forwarded to the relevant department. In the meantime, we can recommend using mono summing on your DAWs master bus instead. Regarding the AuraVerb reverb, yes, it can only be used for monitoring and not during tracking. Printing with reverb is possible on some of our more advanced interfaces, due to their more flexible routing capabilities. Hope this helps! Should you have any other question, we remain at your disposal.

    Just received delivery of the Zen Go here and after setting everything up I was very disappointed to find the display's brightness level to be so inadequate and dim. Even after adjusting the brightness level to 100 % it's still on the dim side. It sounds very good but this display issue is just not acceptable so it's being returned.

    I can't select the Sample Rate neither the clock source buttons with my mouse. I am on win 10 pro with usb connection to zen go interface. The little white triangles look like not activable and the text near are grey. not white like showed in the video.
    But the other triangles for the preamps work fine.
    I am fully updated.
    Anyone knows why ?

    I must be doing something wrong. Should I immediately hear / monitor via the headphones or is there a setting for that. My headphones are not muted or dimmed. I can hear system audio via the headphones but I cant hear any of my inputs. Do you have to set it up with a return from your DAW like shown in video. Is that the only way youll be able to monitor what youre singing / playing?

      Hello
      Our audio interfaces from the Synergy Core line allow you to monitor directly from your interface, right after the input stage. By bringing up the volume of your channel in the Control Panel’s mixer you will get direct feed of your microphone or instrument into your monitoring system.

    I bought the go interface yesterday and I didint realize I need a C connection on my labtop but it came with an adapter for USB 3, I plugged it in my USB 3 plugin and playback was choppy and very slow, also I could not turn on phantom power to my mic , I tried on another labtop and USB 3 did not work for it there too... so I’m not sure it actually works with the adapter
    So I returned it and got an audient id22 and it works easilyv

    Antelope interface systems are and have been broken for some time. Save yourself the hundreds of dollars and invest somewhere else. I've been troubleshooting mine since I got it as I thought it was an internal problem. Turns out it's the hardware. Can't get a refund/replacement. If you have Nvidia (like myself) stay away as other people on forums have noted their issues of compatibility. I currently still run my Zengo as I'm more casual and use it as a guitar amp with a mic set up. Someone posted a fix explaining these issues and that being of the power supply not generating enough to run properly. Yeah so consider this your warning if you're seeing this.
    tldr; Stay away. I can't believe the guy at guitar center seriously talked me into buying this. Fucking unlucky.

    I strongly regret that I bought Zen Go ... that I bought something from antelope at all: (constant problems with everything, connection, drivers. unintuitive and sloppy interface. connecting a microphone always takes 15-20 minutes. and every simple activity requires extensive discussion and learning . everything is complicated here. pathetic for me that you have to google: "how to record sound on Zen go" terrible ehhhh :((( and VSTs are “not that easy” to use in your fav DAW. Bravo Antelope. Rise prices please fo your products!!! Miss my Scarlet

    DONT PURCHASE ALLERT! This brand's hardware relies heavily on firmware updates, which can lead to potential compatibility issues down the line. Additionally, when they release newer interfaces, older models might not receive full support, potentially pushing you towards an upgrade.
    In my experience, resolving technical issues with their customer service took over two weeks, and the solutions offered weren't entirely satisfactory. This has led me to recommend exploring other brands to avoid similar frustrations.
