45:13 I don't think Nebula's hesitancy to hug Gamora back really had much to do with Gamora herself. Sadly, I think this might have been the first hug Nebula had ever experienced. She was never really shown love during her horrific upbringing, so she was likely confused and unsure how to process this kindness from Gamora. Then, just when it seemed like she would reciprocate, Nebula broke off before she could truly let her guard down. It's a really beautiful but heartbreaking moment.
Indeed, Bautista has to be the best actor of all the actors who were previously wrestlers. Crazy good comedic delivery as Drax and also good in the emotional moments.
The reason Mantis wanted to confess Ego's wrongdoings to Drax was because she understood how parents are supposed to feel when losing their child when she touched Drax . Ego's sadness was not because he misses his children or sadness that they died, the thing that keeps him up at night is having his dream being out of reach. The pond scene has always been one of my favourites in the MCU, guess I'm in the minority on that one
I'm one of those ... basically a sperm donor and a true father. Didn't see the first guy after he left at age 3, the father showed up when I was 4 and stayed until his last day. I am the man I am because of him, and I will never miss an opportunity to praise what an example he was. The deadbeat died just a few months before my father ... I looked it up because I couldn't believe in a world where he existed and my father did not. I'm so glad to hear you experienced a similar greatness in your life. Thanks for bringing it up.
Ego wasn't the first Celestial we met, in the first movie of the Guardians we went to visit a place called knowhere, which was the severed head of a dead Celestial and was beeing mined for resources ( the planet where the Collector had his base, and he gave them a presentation on the Infinity Stones ). So we know already that there are many Celestial and I think Ego was a not fully formed one since he was just a brain floating in space.
Ego isn't a Celestial... he just says he is because he has a big... well, ego. He's what is called an Elder of The Universe, which is a very wide catagory of beings below actual Celestials, but above beings like Thor. I do think Odin, in the comics, is powerful enough to fit into this catagory.
@@JoaoPaulo-mh1kz In the comics, Ego is not a Celestial. Marvel's own database lists him in the "Elders Of The Universe" membership list. "The Elders of the Universe are powerful extraterrestrial beings who are among the oldest sentient beings in all the cosmos. The individuals who comprise the Elders are members of a number of the first intelligent humanoid races to evolve in the universe. These races lived in the first galaxies to form in the wake of the "Big Bang", the event that began the universe. The Elder's races achieved an extraordinarily high level of civilization before they died out. The individuals comprising the Elders are the last survivors of their respective races, each Elder having found a means of achieving virtual immortality, as well as mastering advanced technology that made it possible for them to leave their home planets. Not only have each of the Elders survived the deaths of their respective races, each of them have even survived the deaths of their home galaxies, and have lived on while newer galaxies such as the Milky Way Galaxy have formed." He joined the group during their fight against . He qualifies as an Elder as he is the "last survivor" of his species in the sense that he is its only member. He may be a 'celestial being' with a small 'c', but a Celestial is a whole other category above. James Gunn can say that in 'his' movie he considers Ego a Celestial, but that's not what the original lore says. Sorry.
Ego is the planet. The guy you see is just a manifestation of Ego. He mentions that he is a celestial but he isn't in Marvel lore. I think James Gunn just mixed up concepts because he tends to do that in his movies. It may also be Ego saying he is something he is not because he thinks of himself as a god. The Celestials are basically the main engineers of life in the universe for Marvel. You will learn more about them later.
Yeah, I believe Ego, in the comics, fits into the category of beings classified as 'Elders Of The Universe'. One step below actual Celestials, but above beings like Thor.. although I think Odin was considered an Elder.
@@KeithDCanada Yes the comics have a whole crazy hierarchy of beings. It starts with One-Above-All and goes down from there. Celestials are like 11 and below them are the Infinites and Eternity and Infinity and so on. That is skipping over a bunch also. They have put some in the MCU but they really have not and probably will never explain anything officially just leave it for fans to talk about. In the comics the hierarchy of beings are metaphors of the Marvel comics creators. At one time in the comics the One-Above-All was Jack Kirby but they tend to do that from time to time to honor various creators and artists. The MCU has just started introducing these more galactic and universal type beings. Who knows if they will ever do stories around them like they are doing with the Eternals and Celestials now.
@rnkelly36 I LOVE that the One-Above-All is used to pay homage to various Marvel creators! That is so clever. I also had no idea that Marvel had such a complicated hierarchy of beings. This world is so much more complex than I had ever imagined.
@@reactswithjax @10:30 Sylvester Stallone (Stakar) and Michael Rooker (Yondu) previously teamed up onscreen in Cliffhanger (1993). Plus, Stallone and Kurt Russell (Ego) previously teamed up onscreen in Tango & Cash (1989). Both are good action flicks. You should check them out if you haven’t seen them yet.
This is one of my favorite films in the MCU. Baby Groot sets the tone of the movie during the excellent song in the opening credits. All the way to that terrific Cat Stevens song "Father and Son" during Yondu's funeral. Possibly the best soundtrack of the MCU.
Guardians 2 has the best reunion ever. Sly Stallone, Kurt Russell and Michael Rooker have all appeared with each other in various movies. Sly and Kurt in Tango and Cash, Sly and Michael in Cliffhanger and lastly Kurt and Michael in Tombstone.
When Ego was expanding on Earth, and the expansion stopped for the 2nd time, the man you see in the car is Peter's grandfather, father of Pete's mom. He was also at the beginning of the first movie. I like you talking after the movie Jax, you are really understanding the characters.
“I know who you are because you’re me.” Gets me every time. It was his way of connecting by planting an extension of himself. The cave of skeletons are the remains of his kids. The ones with no powers. The “they never felt a thing.” Was delivered SOOO coldly it gives me chills. The way Drax messes with Mantis makes them my fave friend group of the Guardians.
ngl, that "I know who you are, boy, you're me!" line confused me for the longest time I kept wondering if Rocket for some reason was created based on him or if Yondu was the result of mass-produced kree slaves similar to the Clones of Star Wars and Rocket was another iteration of that or---- And then eventually, after years, I realized he just meant they had similar backgrounds and points of view I think the first few times I heard that line, I sometimes misheard it as "you're mean", so I did consider that Yondu wasn't being literal but yeah lol
Watching people react to this particular movie just makes me relive the emotional rollercoaster it puts you on. I had to fight back the tears at the end.
You might be the first person I've seen to connect the battery thing between the Sovereign race and Ego... I didn't even pick up on that either, and I've seen this movie several times, lol. I wonder if that was just pure coincidence in the writing or not. Either way, that's a pretty cool thing to catch! I'm super excited for you to get to the third one, I think that one might actually be my favorite overall (which is SUPER rare for any movie sequels). Still got a bit of a journey until that, though, and I'm thankful for that cause I love your reactions!
1:06:12 I love that vision quote, "our very strength invites challenge, challenge incites conflict, & conflict breeds catastrophe" It's a bit reminiscent of when Ultron said "everyone creates the thing they dread, men of peace create engines of war, invaders create avengers"
The absolute best part was Rocket’s disgust over Drax thinking Yondu was Quill’s real dad. “One’s blue!” 😂 The music choices were amazing and fit the scene perfectly. Even when the Sovereign showed up with all the ships…that song was perfect. Yondu’s funeral caught me off guard at how sad it really was. And a nice touch adding Harry Potter to your planet 😆
Great reaction Jax as always 😊i love Guardians 2 even more than the first for everything Baby groot😁 the character building, the soundtrack, new characters and Yondus Sacrifice off course that line gets me everytime "He may have been your father boy but he wasn't your daddy i'm sorry i didnt do none of it right i'm damn lucky you was my boy"And Yondus funeral breaks me everytime id argue it is one of the most emotional scenes in the MCU
That was such a beautiful line from Yondu! His dialogue kept cutting right through to my heart. I agree that Baby Groot makes this movie so good!! I'm glad you enjoyed by reaction!! ❤️
@9:33-@9:40, @14:31, @19:52, @42:11 lol hahahahahahaha!!!!!! In the timeline, this movie takes place only a few months after the first film. They found a family by forming this group in their first adventure. This time around, it was about holding that family together.
The Cat Stevens' song at the end, Father and Son, is one of those Cats In The Cradle songs that just immediately demands tears, or at least it does if you know the song. It was a brilliant choice to include in the soundtrack.
OMG Jaxxxxx your editing humor keeps getting better-- and I adore being on this journey with you still! I'm also so happy to see your channel grow so much! I remember when you had only a couple thousand friends here, and now look at this 36k member family! I know I probably get lost in the flood of comments nowadays but golly- "I'm with ya till the end of the line, Jax!" :-)
OMG! Thank you SO much for being here from the beginning of my channel!!! I am so grateful that you've wanted to watch all these movies with me. This has been such an incredibly rewarding experience. I appreciate you being here through it all! "I'm with ya till the end of the line" has me smiling ear to ear! ❤️🎉🐑❤️🎉🐑
The background behind Guardians is the family of both the clan that goes on the ship and the relationships they make during the saga. It has more absurd humor, a lot of tragedy and as much action as the others in the MCU. And yes, Adam will have an important role in the third film and also the one who believes it will come out but not as you might think. And surely it will be the one you like the most because it will answer all the questions you have about the characters... that's why it's SO important to watch the movies in the right order but some of the things that happen in the third are not understood because they happen as they happen
THANK YOU SO MUCH XANADU56!! I really appreciate your super thanks!! ❤️ I agree that these movies have a beautiful theme of family. I am really looking forward to seeing more about Adam. They did a great job of making him seem formidable without even showing him on screen. The third GotG movie seems to be a fan favorite. I have high hopes for it! I'm so glad you enjoyed this reaction!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!! ❤️💕🎉❤️💖
Well there are other celestials in the MCU and you've seen two of them in the first GOTG movie. 1st one was in Knowhere, the head of a celestial and the 2nd was when the collector was explaining the powers of the infinity stones, he showed one of them destroying an entire planet with the power stone 😵😱
You're right! I forgot about Knowhere being the head of a celestial and that the collector was showing us those images. Thanks for connecting those dots for me. ❤️
@@Smido83 i mean their last comic book project was 2019 i think. it’s tuff bc i fuck with all of those and then gunn has the trilogy, TSS and peacemaker which i also love. We’ll see how his next 2 projects are with creature commandos and superman legacy
and yet he's being hated on for having a vision of the new DCU. People are forgetting he came on board after the current flopping movies (Shazam 2, Aquaman 2, Blue Beetle, Black Adam, and Flash) were already being filmed. Im excited for his take on Superman, im expecting it to have a lot of emotion and heart
@@markcruz359 Who fired the only good thing about the old DCEU, Henry Cavill? Who said Blue Beetle is part of the New DCU? Who said The Flash movie was one of the greatest superhero movies ever? Who is a Director, not a true producer? Being good at one thing doesnt mean being good at another. Being a great football player doesnt equal being a great coach or GM... to bring in a sport comparison...
@@Smido83 You cant fire an actor that is not employed. Henry Cavill was never contracted to appear in future movies. His appearance in Black Adam was because of The Rock interfering with the higher ups. If he was that good, Man of Steel would have gotten a sequel. It never did. His take on Superman was too dark, he wasn't representing hope or truth or justice or any of that. Isn't Blue Beetle still part of the new DCU? i've never seen it and not sure i want to either. Flash was pretty good in my opinion, it had a lot of emotion especially towards the end. Sure there were bad cgi but the director said those were intentional. I remember Gunn saying Flash will open the door for the reboot to work. Personally i was never a fan of casting Ezra for the role. The fact that they're making Flash and Aquaman into comedic characters takes the characters too far from what they were like in the comics, Barry Allen wasn't comedic, Wally West was at times. Nobody hates on Kevin Feige when shows like She Hulk sucks. He always praises every movie and show they make. Unless they do and i just do see the hate comments about him
Nice reaction. You caught some details that other reactors didn't catch in their Gotg vol 2 reaction That dialogue by Rocket when he says "I can only lose 1 friend today "is really hardhitting.
This one makes me cry. Seeing you cry was made everything so much more emotional. I love your analysis. Survival is a big theme moving forward. When ego tells Peter that he will be like everyone else, it makes me think of the ancient one telling strange he hasn't learned the most important lesson, that "its not about you." Try not to cry, cry a lot. Lol. If you're interested in what ego is, there's this real theory (the kinetic theory of gasses) that predicts what's called a boltzmann brain. There's a video on pbs space time that's worth a watch with a good explanation of what that is. The concept of matter formations structure and breaking it down harnessing energy released and battery storage is another big theme. This is my all-time favorite sound track if you ever have time, you should check it out. The songs 'brandy' and 'wham bam Shangalang' are such amazing track. As good as music can get.
THANK YOU SO MUCH ZAC!!! 💕🎉💖❤️🥳🎉🐑💕💖😍❤️ You are so kind and I really appreciate you and your incredibly generous heart! ❤️ This movie was so unexpectedly sad. Who knew Yondu would become such a wonderful character? I'm glad you cried too and that I wasn't the only one struggling to keep it together! You are so right about Ego's words being similar to the Ancient One's. I love that these powerful super heros have to learn that they are not the most important people. It's so humbling and makes them feel more human. Wow, I've never heard of a boltzmann brain before. I will definitely be looking that up. I can always rely on you to guide me through some of the real science behind these magical concepts. I can't decide if I enjoyed the soundtrack from the first movie or this one better. I'm amazed that they created such a perfect collection of songs to suit this story. All around, this was just such a fun movie to experience! Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart. I hope you have the best weekend 💕💖
@reactswithjax I can't wait for the man of steel reaction. I think you'll catch on to a lot of big picture themes. You always make such keen observations backed with great insights. It's such a pleasure seeing you on your Marvel journey and becoming a fan. I love it! Idk why reaction videos get me in the feels, and it means a lot to me that you do this. I enjoy it so much. Also, eternals is such an elegant movie I have a feeling you'll love that one.
@reactswithjax oh and you're very welcome. I feel I'm always forgetting to say that. It's the little things. 🫶 edit: oh and lambys costume is adorable! I have chihuahuas and one of them loves to wear sweaters and costumes, she's so cute.
Hello! I was just about to check in with you since we hadn't talked in a while and I just saw you commented on my Superman reaction. I sent you a message there but I just want to make sure you see my response since sometimes comments get lost. Happy Halloween and I hope you are doing wonderfully!! ❤️🐑
Thanks for the video! I was waiting for this one, and I’m really excited to see your reaction to a future Marvel movie. This is such an emotional movie. Chris Pratt’s father passed during the development of this film and used his personal grief during the Yondu scene. Very powerful.
9:52 Nebula was never taught to lie, which is why she is so bad at it. Actually in the first movie we saw two Celestials, Nowhere is the head of a decapitated Celestial and when The Collector was explaining about the Infinity Stones we saw a being use the Stone of Power to wipe oute an entire planet, that being was a Celestial. I've never seen anyone make such an accurate diagnosis on the Rocket before
There are other Celestials. Knowhere is the decapitated head of a celestial. When the GotG in Vol.1, went to meet the Collector {On Knowhere), he talked about the Celestials.
The big bald headed his Stan is talking to are known as Watchers. Their job is basically to watch and record everything that happens. There has been a theory that Stan is a Watcher which would explain how he shows up in every movie.
Another great reaction Ms. Jaxx. This is the first time I have seen tears well up on your channel. I can tell you were truly invested in this movie. I do really enjoy the purity of your reactions, which makes your channel one of the joys of coming on RUclips. When I build my new channel with my alter ego, I will definitely recommend your channel to all my future subscribers. Keep up the great work, you are doing fabulous.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words. This movie really hit me right in the heart. I never expected to care so much for Yondu. The MCU is filled with some delightfully emotional surprises. ❤️🎉🐑
I remember when this came out so many people said it fell flat, and when I watched it, I didn't understand that at all. Your insights into the depths of the characterization and storytelling show they were wrong. Watching all the characters fight against caring for someone and by the end accepting that it's ok to follow peter's lead and care about each other was just really well done in my opinion. Also I love that all those relationships were broken or stalled until they talked to each other about the root issues, then healing could begin. Really good film and great reaction as always, so insightful.
25:41 I would make some weird shit as well lol. Like candy trees, burger plants, giant birds that you can travel around on, miniature sheep you can keep as pets, or trampoline grass!
Watching Jax react to the Marvel movies is the highlight of my week, I absolutely love her genuine and innocent nature when reacting. Can't wait until you get to Guardians 3 so we can have a good cry together.
Wow, thank you so much for such a beautiful compliment! Considering how wonderful the GotG movies have been so far, I'm ecstatic to see the GotG 3. I keep hearing it's quite emotional! ❤️
10:56 - The Ravagers that Yondu is meeting are versions of the original Guardians of the Galaxy. The OG Guardians in the comics were a group of 30th Century freedom fighters trying to liberate a conquered humanity from their reptilian overlords. Stallone's character Stakar, aka Starhawk, was from Arcturus. The crystalline guy, Martinex, is from Pluto. The woman is Nikki, from Mercury. The bulky, Hulk-like guy is Charlie 27 from Jupiter. Yondu was one of the Guardians as well, from Centauri IV. The final member, Vance Astro, was a 20th Century human astronaut cryogenically frozen, awakening to a conquered Earth where he united the Guardians against the Badoon. Yondu is the only non-human, the others being mostly genetically engineered to survive on their home planets.
Gamora was able to survive longer in space than Yondu because she was genetically enhanced by Thanos. Both sisters were enhanced, but Nebula would get it worse everytime she lost a fight against her sister.
LMAO! It's a testament to Jax's good heart that she completely misinterpreted what Rocket meant when he said "But he didn't use the word frickin". It is, in a word, "adorkable!"
You reacted to my scene! The scene where Rocket takes out the Ravagers by himself is me! I’m glad it put a huge smile on your face! 😍 Rocket is a saboteur and I wanted to showcase that
THAT IS AWESOME!! That scene was done so well! I love how Rocket always seems to have a plan and know how to get out of tricky situations. The way he was portrayed in this movie was great.❤️
What do you mean by that? I am confused. I went through the imdb movie credits and did not find the match for your youtube name. Can you please explain? Thanks
11:23 "I think I would just walk to her. To speed up the conversation a little bit." Funny thing. Right before you said this, I was thinking I'd walk _away_ from her to force them to roll out more carpet. And maybe do some figure-eights and otherwise backtrack over the carpet that had already been rolled out so they'd be forced to make a tangle of it! 🙈😆
When Peter is thinking of his friends and family before using his powers, it’s in response to the last thing Ego said to him “what greater meaning could life possibly have?” It’s also the first use on non-diagetic music in the series since Ego has crushed his Walkman. The music is basically Peter realizing that he doesn’t need the Walkman to remember his mom by, she’ll continue to live through his memories and the connections he makes with others. It’s also a great needle drop for the final fight scene. Man I love this movie.
"The story is really about family" Jax says (at 25:22). This is so true for me, too. The GOTG are about family. But so is much of the rest of the MCU. Natasha has always been searching for a family. Scott Lang wants to be a better father. Tony Stark wants to be a better son to Howard, and a stand-in Dad to Peter. This "Family" theme is a strong attractant for me, as a fan. I love it. Thanks for saying it.
In the first movie the place where They met the Collector and had the first fight with Ronan was actually the Severed Head of Another Celestial that died and they are harvesting parts from it for money
Hey! great reaction. Despite the length of the reaction (amazing btw! never change) one small part that was skipped, which I think is one of the most touching moments in the MCU, especially for Drax, is when Mantis touches him and exhibits/manifests his emotions (at 18:05). Because Drax doesn't show certain emotions, having her convey how deeply sad he is in that thought, I find so revealing about his otherwise light-heated character. edit: The moment between Gamora and Nebula at the end always makes me tear up 😥
Hi! Thank you so much ❤️ That scene between Drax and Mantis was so heartbreaking. He has lost so much, but very rarely shows it. It was very moving watching him sit there calmly while she expressed his sadness outwardly. ❤️
Ego has always been my favorite Lee/Kirby creation next to Galactus(The Devourer of Worlds). The two naturally do not get along lol. They've had epic run-ins together. Ego brings out the petty side of a usually dispassionate Galactus. The Big G once got so annoyed by Ego he attached a rocket to Ego's backside and launched him off into deep space. Hilarious .
Also other fun facts, Rob Zombie was in this movie (Ravager) , David Hasslehoff as himself ofc, Michelle Yeoh (as a ravager), Seth Green as howard the duck, Michael Rosenbaum as the crystal person behind Sylvester Stallone, Miley Cyrus was the small Robot head also with the ravagers, etc etc. So many cameos in this 😁
They do have a contract that says they have to be shirtless and that is why Dave Bautista is wanting to take roles that don't require him to be shirtless anymore.
You have sooo much insight into MCU now, Jax, it's so cool. I loooove how invested you get into it and all the thinking that you have in these movies and the wider implications these stories have. I really love it. When I first saw this movie, I was sooo shocked that James Gunn made me A) revile Yondu so much in the first movie, and then B) make me feel for him so much in this second one. I was surprised how much I loved him in this movie. It's such good writing and such great character creation and development. Well done, Gunn. Well done. :) You talked a lot about Rocket in this movie. The third movie gives you even more insight into Rocket and I think you'll really love it. :) Love that you're on this journey, Jax. Awesome :)
Ego is one of four of the most powerful beings in the MCU galaxy. Thanos refuses to make a move until his competitors are out of the way. The Sorcerer Supreme, Ego, and Odin.
You exceeded my expectations. As a random RUclips nobody, I expected you would be "vapid" because you are so pretty. You made me laugh with your comments. Goddamn, you are witty! I could have gone without saying this, but I did. There ya go.
I had to see this movie several times because I was blown away by the visuals! I lost track of what they were talking about because I was looking at the backgrounds.
For me, one of the best and most emotional moments (out of many) was with Drax and Mantis at the pond. Mantis touches Drax and instantly feels all the pain he has inside over the loss of his family. I think this is also why she wanted to save them. She began to care about this group because she got to know who they are. Suddenly she felt bad for what Ego was doing and wanted to save them.
Heh, Ego _wishes_ he was the most powerful and scary being in the MCU... Anyways, this was a wonderful reaction. Phase 3 is full of excellent movies, but GotGV2 is arguably the most emotional one. The pacing and visuals are great, but it's the writing that really underscores how much of a family these characters are. "He may have been your father, boy. But he wasn't your daddy" is the perfect line. Peter having to confront and deal with what happened to his mother, losing the rest of the parental figures in his life, and moving on, Yondu's redemption, Yondu and Rocket dropping their facades, Gamora and Nebula evolving from bitter enemies to sisters, Gamora letting herself be more vulnerable and closer to Peter, Drax loosening up emotionally and trying to help others, Mantis stepping up, everyone parenting Groot... And of course, everything with Nebula. Of all the GotG characters, Nebula has the best arc. And yes, the MCU is still expanding far beyond Earth, and in ways that you won't see coming. But for now, onward to the next movie. Don't forget to bring some tape!
The team that Sylvester Stallone had gathered in the post credit, is from the comics. Known as the FIRST Guardians of the Galaxy. And their leader was Yondu. In the comics the team led by Peter Quill is known as the second iteration of the Guardians of the Galaxy. And the 'Adam' in the post credit scene, is also from the comics and he was created as Thanos counterpart, known as Adam Warlock, so he's also VERY powerful.
So in the MCU there appears to be 2 kinds of celestials (or 3 really). There are celestials (lower case c) like Ego where it’s a general term for god-like space beings. And then there are THE Celestials (capital C) which (minor spoilers) you’ll meet later in The Eternals. Then there seems to be a second set of capital C Celestials. We caught a glimpse of one in The Collector’s Infinity Stone exposition scene back in GOTG1 and a couple more show up (again minor spoilers) in Thor: Love and Thunder. As far as I know it’s never been explained why there’s two groups of them.
I've always said Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 is the best found family movie of all time. This film absolutely makes me cry because I love the family they've made together. It's a wonderful movie.
21:17 That's why it was the prototype. He replaced it with the shorter one because he kept thinking he was about to get decapitated whenever he walked through low doorways.
I liken Yondu to Fagan, Kraglin to The Artful Dodger and Quill as Oliver Twist. The first movie was about the Mother and friends. This movie is about the Father and family. Very nice progression by James Gunn. All of the members of the Guardians a damaged or from damaging pasts. Write down all the names that Rocket is called. It is a running gag. Rocket has become my favorite character. You will understand more as you see more movies. Nebula is also one of my favorite characters. To say more would spoil things.
EGO'S BIGGEST FLAW: he was alone for centuries, discovered other life forms, but was disappointed in them. So his Goal, his Meaning was to make everything..."Him". But by doing so, he'd be alone again in the universe.
Dude, i ve watched the movie for couple of times. And then it didnt give me the good laugh anymore. But watching you, it gives me the good happy laugh i need :3
The ending really got me when I first saw the movie. As a kid, we had a "Best Hits of Cat Stevens" CD that we'd listen to all the time. So, unlike most of the songs in the Guardians movies that I didn't really have any connection with, when "Father and Son" started playing, it instantly hit me with the feels.
Did you notice Drax was the only one who knew how to hold Baby Groot like a baby? Because he's the only one who had children at one point.
This is such a great detail. I thought I was the only one who noticed, cause I never read that under any reaction so far.
WOW! I hadn't noticed that!! What an awesome detail to include. Thanks for pointing that out.
Being a dad myself I noticed and his story is so sad it's much like my own in different ways drax is the best
He also took care of Mantis like she was his child. That's so fatherly.
I’m glad you pointed that out, that’s why he just sat by Rocket at the end of GOTG.
Kraglins reaction to the ravager funeral tears me up every time. It's just so pure in its visceral excitement and relief.
It genuinely is.
Every time.
I was coming to say this exact thing! Sean Gunn is a truly phenomenal actor.
Agree bro
“Holy Mother of the Hulk” is probably the best expression of disbelief I’ve ever heard 😂
Hahaha!
As God of War.. haha.. My blades call me..
Wow, that is so sad. I hope Nebula has a better future ahead of her. She deserves more than the painful, loveless childhood she had.
"and I just wanted a sister!" is the one line, that gets me most in this movie, despite also the great Yondu backstory.
The reaction to Drax's fakeout with Mantis at the end was hilarious 🤣That short pause followed by "On the Inside" 🤣
His comedic timing is impeccable! 😂

That is an excellently accurate take. I had not put my finger on yet but thst perfectly explains Mantis's ongoing adoration of Drax.
Dang, I never thought of that! That’s subtle but perfect.
As someone who had a shitty biological father, and an amazing step-dad that I lost too soon...this ending friggin' destroyed me.
That’s sucks man, may your step dad rest in peace!
I'm sorry for your loss.
Same here. My bio dad walked out when I was 3. Lost my step dad in a car accident when I was 8. Yondu's death and funeral wrecked me.
Yep. The ending destroyed me.
@@KeithDCanadaIt was that way in the comics. In the MCU, he's a Celestial. Quite possibly, what remained of Knowhere.
@@KeithDCanadaYou're 100% wrong. He is a Celestial. James Gunn put him in the movie cause he thought Marvel would never put a Celestial in a movie.
Not only have each of the Elders survived the deaths of their respective races, each of them have even survived the deaths of their home galaxies, and have lived on while newer galaxies such as the Milky Way Galaxy have formed."
He joined the group during their fight against .
Sorry.
@@KeithDCanada Dude, you keep talking about comics, in the MCU he is a Celestial. Done.
Every time I hear Stan Lee say, ‘I have so many more stories to tell’, I tear up a little.
Same.
Same. The man was a legend.
That line hits differently with him no longer with us(but forever remembered). I believe he would have told us stories for eternity if he could have.
That is so fascinating that Ego is not a god! It didn't even occur to me that he would think more highly of himself.
The soundtrack was wonderful. I can't decide if I like the soundtrack from the first movie or the second movie better. They are both so perfect.
Father and Son makes me weep no matter where or when I hear it.
And let's not forget the very brief appearance of David Hasselhoff characterized as Michael Knight 😂😂
The way Drax messes with Mantis makes them my fave friend group of the Guardians.
ngl, that "I know who you are, boy, you're me!" line confused me for the longest time
I kept wondering if Rocket for some reason was created based on him or if Yondu was the result of mass-produced kree slaves similar to the Clones of Star Wars and Rocket was another iteration of that or----
And then eventually, after years, I realized he just meant they had similar backgrounds and points of view
I think the first few times I heard that line, I sometimes misheard it as "you're mean", so I did consider that Yondu wasn't being literal but yeah lol
@@mylightobscures that makes sense. Especially on a first viewing. But once you get it, it gets you in the feels. Hahaha
Ego the living planet is well exactly what it is a living planet and it's awesome to see him in the MCU. Such a great movie and a emotional ending
Watching people react to this particular movie just makes me relive the emotional rollercoaster it puts you on. I had to fight back the tears at the end.
I'm so glad you were able to relive those experiences again! This movie was certainly an emotional journey.❤️
It was Vol 3 for me. I was wreck in the theater lol 😭
Loved the reaction and Lamby's dragon disguise.
Thank you!!! ❤️🎉🐑
You’ll learn to love Nebula 🙌 and yeah her backstory is traumatic
1:06:12 I love that vision quote, "our very strength invites challenge, challenge incites conflict, & conflict breeds catastrophe"
It's a bit reminiscent of when Ultron said "everyone creates the thing they dread, men of peace create engines of war, invaders create avengers"
The absolute best part was Rocket’s disgust over Drax thinking Yondu was Quill’s real dad. “One’s blue!” 😂
The music choices were amazing and fit the scene perfectly.
Yondu, for all his faults, was a real one.
@9:33-@9:40, @14:31, @19:52, @42:11 lol hahahahahahaha!!!!!!
Absolutely! Perfect song choice.
@@reactswithjax You’re welcome!!! Thank YOU for always bringing such smiles and positivity and happiness to each of these reactions! ☺️
The final song we hear is from Cat Stevens's song FATHER AND SON.
@@reactswithjax It's my pleasure! 😊
Love this trilogy so much. Gunn is prolly the most consistent writer and director making comic book projects rn
Russo Brothers? Winter Soldier, Civil War, Infinity War, Endgame?
But I get what you mean. He really did a great job with this trilogy.
You caught some details that other reactors didn't catch in their Gotg vol 2 reaction
That dialogue by Rocket when he says "I can only lose 1 friend today "is really hardhitting.
@reactswithjax oh and you're very welcome. I feel I'm always forgetting to say that. It's the little things. 🫶 edit: oh and lambys costume is adorable! I have chihuahuas and one of them loves to wear sweaters and costumes, she's so cute.

I sent you a message there but I just want to make sure you see my response since sometimes comments get lost. Happy Halloween and I hope you are doing wonderfully!! ❤️🐑
@reactswithjax I actually just returned home from my travels and was planning on making a big donation to you this Friday.
I've never seen anyone make such an accurate diagnosis on the Rocket before
The only bad thing about your reaction videos is, that they end. I hope you're having an amazing weekend. 😊
Aaw, thank you so much! I love that! I hope you are having the most marvelous weekend as well! ❤️🎉💕

We already met a celestial in gaurdians 1. Granted it was dead, but that is where Knowhere was.
It was cool to revisit this great movie with you and lamby. Don't worry and keep watching, the answers to many of your questions are coming.
You've already seen another full Celestial's head in the first Guardians film. Knowhere, where the Collector was, is the head of a dead celestial.
There are other Celestials. Knowhere is the decapitated head of a celestial. When the GotG in Vol.1, went to meet the Collector {On Knowhere), he talked about the Celestials.
Love watching your reactions to the MCU! And love your pop up comments! I want more MCU! 🙂
I love that HTTYD had a such an impact that Lamby has a dragon disguise for protection from dragons (and violent scenes).
YES! He needs to blend, just in case the dragons come back. ❤️🎉🐑
The big bald headed his Stan is talking to are known as Watchers. Their job is basically to watch and record everything that happens. There has been a theory that Stan is a Watcher which would explain how he shows up in every movie.
Your comments and questions after the reactions are gold.
Rocket roasting the hell out of Taserface never gets old.
Another great reaction Ms. Jaxx. This is the first time I have seen tears well up on your channel. I can tell you were truly invested in this movie.

7:29 she’s blasting off again
I remember when this came out so many people said it fell flat, and when I watched it, I didn't understand that at all. Your insights into the depths of the characterization and storytelling show they were wrong. Watching all the characters fight against caring for someone and by the end accepting that it's ok to follow peter's lead and care about each other was just really well done in my opinion. Also I love that all those relationships were broken or stalled until they talked to each other about the root issues, then healing could begin. Really good film and great reaction as always, so insightful.

I forgot she was enhanced by Thanos! Makes sense.
LMAO! It's a testament to Jax's good heart that she completely misinterpreted what Rocket meant when he said "But he didn't use the word frickin". It is, in a word, "adorkable!"
When Jax did her mocking voice when Zylac failed KILLED me 😂 idk why but it just tickled me so much
You reacted to my scene! The scene where Rocket takes out the Ravagers by himself is me!
I’m glad it put a huge smile on your face! 😍
Rocket is a saboteur and I wanted to showcase that

What do you mean by that? I am confused. I went through the imdb movie credits and did not find the match for your youtube name. Can you please explain? Thanks
11:23 "I think I would just walk to her. To speed up the conversation a little bit." Funny thing. Right before you said this, I was thinking I'd walk _away_ from her to force them to roll out more carpet. And maybe do some figure-eights and otherwise backtrack over the carpet that had already been rolled out so they'd be forced to make a tangle of it! 🙈😆
Hahaha! I hadn't even thought about backing up 😂
we technically saw a Celestial in the first Guardians as well...the severed head of Knowhere
Finally the wait is over.
Friday has become more interesting with your uploads 🎉👍
In Vol 1, Knowhere, the place they met the Collector ( and saw Cosmo and Howard the Duck) is the hollowed out head of a Celestial.
You're right! Each movie has a family element. I hadn't noticed it was such a big theme running throughout the MCU
Compared to other celestials, Ego is relatively weak
I mean Mantis told the Guardians his weakness and so they were able to take him out, without her they wouldn't be able to do much
In the first movie the place where They met the Collector and had the first fight with Ronan was actually the Severed Head of Another Celestial that died and they are harvesting parts from it for money
Hey! great reaction.
Jax is Family! We leave no one behind!😊
Interesting!
Vol. 3 is actually an amazing movie! It's gold, especially comparing to most other MCU films post Endgame...
Vol. 3 is a good wrap-up for these characters
Well done. :)
You talked a lot about Rocket in this movie. The third movie gives you even more insight into Rocket and I think you'll really love it. :)
Love that you're on this journey, Jax. Awesome :)
all of these movies are amazing
Ego is one of four of the most powerful beings in the MCU galaxy. Thanos refuses to make a move until his competitors are out of the way. The Sorcerer Supreme, Ego, and Odin.
You exceeded my expectations. As a random RUclips nobody, I expected you would be "vapid" because you are so pretty. You made me laugh with your comments. Goddamn, you are witty! I could have gone without saying this, but I did. There ya go.
If you recall from the first Guardians movie, the team went to Knowhere which was the head of a dead celestial....
I completely forgot about that!
Cool, I just realized this movie and Ted Lasso both use Father and Son as their final song. A great pick for both ending scenes. 👍
I've always said Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 is the best found family movie of all time. This film absolutely makes me cry because I love the family they've made together. It's a wonderful movie.
It's such a heartwarming film because of the theme of family. ❤️ I'm so glad you enjoyed this.
21:17 That's why it was the prototype. He replaced it with the shorter one because he kept thinking he was about to get decapitated whenever he walked through low doorways.
"So there must be other celestials." I love how quickly you catch on.
"Note to self: always bring tape to space." 🤣
The guys that Stan Lee is talking to are called “The Watchers”. Theory has it that he’s one himself.
Cheers for reaction 👍. Excellent as usual Jax ,thank you
THANK YOU! ❤️🎉🐑
In the first Guardians they went to Know here which is in the dead of a dead celestial being, and they were mining it.
I had forgotten that! That's so cool.
I fall more in love with you every time I watch your reactions
So hyped going through this journey with you
