Leon Kennedy first appeared in Resident Evil 2 as a rookie police officer caught in the midst of a zombie outbreak in Raccoon City. He returned in Resident Evil 4, where he was tasked with rescuing the President's daughter from a cult in Spain. Leon also appeared in Resident Evil 6, where he was a government agent fighting against a bioterrorist attack.
Leon Kennedy is a character in the Resident Evil series known for his strong personality and unwavering determination. He is a highly skilled fighter and marksman, able to take down hordes of zombies and other creatures with ease. Despite the dangers he faces, Leon remains level-headed and resourceful, always finding a way to overcome obstacles in his path.
Leon has a strong sense of justice and is willing to put himself in harm's way to protect others. Throughout his appearances in the Resident Evil series, Leon has proven himself to be a hero and a true survivor, winning the hearts of fans with his courageous and charismatic personality.

...Except Leon does let Ada get away with things, which can/could have terrible consequences. And in "Vendetta," his actions could have/probably killed a significant number of innocent people.
He's definitely the most interesing, most fleshed out character in the franchise. He the ideal: strong in the face of adversity; bent by tragedy, but still not broken. However, it is in his vulnerabilities and imperfections that we come to love him most.
Well, actually there's some source that I found in tumblr that all the cars that crashed by him was actually Aries workers, so he is kinda intentionally trying to "stopped" them

I started Resident Evil with RE5, so back then he was my favorite, but when I played RE6 I started to see Leon as my favorite, the reasons are many, his morals, his style, even his job are great, when I played the older games, he always kept the 1st place

Exactly why I was so heavily invested into Damon Salvatore from the Vampire Diaries and later on in the show, Stefan Salvatore as well
He's good looking, charming, witty, and kind. That's why. I won't compare him to Itachi because the latter is an entirely different ballgame of layered and invested storytelling.
I like to think of Leon as nightwing from DC. They're both very likable and relatable and little to no flaw.
Leon is so beloved because he’s the ideal zombie survivor.
He’s the perfect mixture of the badass everyone dreams of being in the zombie apocalypse, and the traumatized veteran one would actually become when constantly fighting to stay alive.

From babyface Leon in RE2R to battle hardened Leon in RE4R to Death Island Leon, I love each version of him. Except cocky RE4 Leon, he’s an ass. On some levels, Ada has great affection for him too, her love language is saving him without him knowing. She’s just focused enough to not let it get in the way of her mission.
Agree entirely! I found RE2 OG Leon dorky/stilted, but I _hated_ RE4 OG Leon so much, I stopped playing the game. (And I grew up with the RE2 and RE4 OG's.)

Lol. I pretend that movie doesn't exist... Besides, the live action are definitely not considered canon.
My personal headcannon with why Leon is so infatuated with Ada is that, because we know how much of a softie he is deep down, and because of how we know that before his first day on the job his girlfriend left him and was late to work because he had a huge hangover due to his broken heart (unfortunately our boy Leon had a drinking problem long before vendetta showed it to us), I feel like because he met Ada literally the day after he got dumped by his ex girlfriend, and because he was so desperate to fill the hole that his ex left, made him pretty much instantly fall in love with Ada, didnt help much that Ada is a very attractive looking woman who also kinda reciprocated Leon's feelings, so yeah, thats why I think hes still so infatuated with her despite her shady personality, because the scar that was left by his ex has still not healed, even after so many years, which just further proves how much of a soft heart he has, not that theres anything wrong with that, but unfortunately the world hasnt been kind to that soft heart of his, which makes me feel bad for him even though he's just a fictional character.
I think i love leon so much, is because no matter what he goes through, he still cares and that he still makes mistakes and learn from them (maybe not with ada 😒) but he still does learn.
Also i dont hate ada, i just dislike the ship of ada and leon its very toxic.

1:56 & 2:56 just a minor thing but you contradicted yourself here. Otherwise it a great video, my first RE game was 2 and remember watching my brother play 4 on the PS2 all those years ago.
I think everyone wants to be Leon, every game he’s in seems to be popular even in RE6 his campaign was the best one

I started my RE journey a year ago, finished almost all canon videos games even the chronicles, i started with RE4R, I liked the guy, badass, one army man, stoic, then I decided to engage with his fandoms, i almost hate him now, nothing wrong with him though, just his fanbase ruining him

All movies are about leon, in vendetta they show chris struggling and having a hard time, then they make him ask for leon’s help, then when leon helps somehow the day is saved. From degeneration to death island it’s all leon. In infinite darkness shen may and the old man (the tall agent) they talk about how him saving the daughter of the president is no luck and that he is more than qualified and the ladies hit on him in almost every RE. Why not talk about chris? Why not give the spotlight to chris? Why not give him a whole movie only about him? Why not let him save leon for once? Why does leon have to be the savior all the time? Why make chris and jill and claire look like idiots who need leon’s babysitting? Capcom is so good at D riding leon
@@Naivelu I agree with you, this shouldn't be the case. Most likely the popularity of leon has caused this. I think in RE4 remake Leon representation was the best and realistic, however I do not like when writers in movies downplay other characters, that's just lazy ass writing to be honest. Im more excited about future sequels of the games because it looks like the story telling has lot more potential here in games rather than movies and shows. What are your thoughts on that?
@@anmolfrost yeah well too late, RE9 is the last, and they’ll probably make leon look like the hero of the century and chris the dumb jarhead that needs saving (as usual, nothing new from capcom) and that’s that. End of a franchise that had the potential to be even greater (all thanks to that alcoholic 40 year old em0).
On my early teens I hated him in RE4. I hate that he is so cool, I hate his hair, I hate the one liners... Now that I'm an adult I tend to be more forgiving. I loved him on 6... liked him in the movies(Tho he really was cheesy), liked him in RE2 remake, liked him more on the RE4 remake...
