I’m English and my grammar is excellent - however I never learned the social graces. I only wish someone had taught me these things when I was a teenager, before I started earning a living. I would have been more successful in life. I’m retired now. I’m saving this video. Better late than never.
@@Woodman-Spare-that-tree I learnt the word 'social grace'from you.I am in my thirties and I look high on English.I am still learning and trying to brush up my English to be a right educator at least to my daughter.
You're a great teacher who takes the time to explain in great detail the meaning of what is being taught. Perhaps every instructor should subscribe to your channel! Thank you so much for what you do.
From the Philippines here! Sir Harry, you're a very calm and smooth teacher here. You're one of the best teacher on here! It's really good because I can copy your sentences 😂 and also no background sound and bla bla bla 😊😁 just perfect 👌👍
Great video, dear Harry. Congratulations! I always learn a lot with your classes! In fact, always very helpful. I appreciate this lessons very much!!! Take care! God bless you and your family. Bye for now!!!
Excellent lessons, thank you so much for your brilliant lessons, is not just teachings English, but you are building character in the community that follow you.
Very interesting lessons Harry. We need to be more polite. Sometimes we do not make an effort to use another ways to communicate our opinions because of the laziness that we carry on top. But with you, we have the opportunity to improve that matter. Thanks so much ❤
Well I did learn something.. on the birthdates. We had a online friend pass away suddenly from England and when they put up her birthdate it was as you showed here and I was puzzled as a American trying to figure out what the date and month were so thanks for dropping that in the video. I love what you are teaching so far.. we had lessons when I was in telemarketing in the 1980's that has always stayed with me .. "I" didn't say he stole cookies from the cookie jar".. I didn't say "he" stole cookies from the cookie jar... there were a lot of different emphasis on each word that could make the same sentence have a different meaning. I loved those lessons not so much as a young lady of 20 but looking back my boss taught us a lot. Proud to say 37 years later I am still in touch with that boss. We've both moved on in different directions and different parts of our country but I learned a lot we also had to listen to Zig Ziglar tapes every week. Anna In Ohio
Thank you Harry for every video. I appreciate your time and effort. It's really helpful and useful . It makes learning English much easier and practical for each day. You are a brilliant teacher.
Hi Harry I just found your channel a couple of days ago and wished I had found you earlier. You have a very friendly nature and are great at explaining the topics. Keep up the good work! Greetings from Switzerland 🙋♀️

I’ve also found your channel several days ago. To be honest, I enjoy your lessons very much! And your manner of presenting information impresses as well. I’ve recommended your channel to several friends of mine and to my sun. Thank you for useful and brilliantly presented topics!
Good morning, and many thanks for your guidance.. As a 'bloody foreigner', it is wonderful to say sentences correctly , in fact more correctly than a 'stiff upper lip' person..Now , would you be able to help me say in a polite manner, 'WHEN DID YOUR LAST SERVANT DIE?' That's for people who keep asking for help tine and time again .. very grateful 🙏
My mother used to tell me that when I kept asking for things like a spoon or a fork when I was small. It is informal and a little bit rude. But can politely decline to help someone who repeatedly asks for assistance by saying something like, "I'm sorry, but I'm not able to help you at this time."
@Learn English with Harry Ohh my dearest , you don't know my Boss!! 😁🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ she will come back in 5 min again and in 30 and until I give in ...and by the end of the day, my head is soo spinning, I'm speaking in tongues!!
Hello Harry. ThanK you for your work on your channel and how you learn us for a better English. May I propose you a suggestion about your whiteboard? Could you put a different colored mark on formal form/ polite form/USA form... of each of your sentences. As that, it will be very useful and easy for us to select the form we want to learn and use. Thank you very much again for what you offer us here. 🙏
Thanks for the feedback. I’ll see what I can do. Different colours often distract students’s attention. This is the reason why I only use one. But I'm sure we can put something in brackets
Hi Harry, thank for your video. It gives me a big helpful and useful that how to be more polite. Actually I'm learning at the beginning. I'm so lucky that found your channel. God bless you and your family. ^_^
Hi Sally. Thank you for your kind comment. I'm glad to hear that my video has been helpful to you. It's great to know that you're starting your English learning journey and that you've found my channel. I appreciate your support. Best of luck with your studies
Lots of love from India. I checked the pronunciation of Karaoke. If I am not mistaken, it's different from what you have suggested. It's a Japanese word which means an empty orchestra. In US and UK it's pronounced differently.
"That's an easy mistake to make because at a glance..." That's roughly the way I began to explain, to my car buddy, the subtle differences between the 1974 Dodge Monaco vs the 1973 Dodge Polara (The Blues Brother's drove a 1974 Monaco and I was sure of it😀) Then he told me to "Google it" 😄 To be nice I added that the Polara had, in fact, been used as a police car but replaced by the Monaco.
