Thank you! This was very helpful information
You are welcome. Thanks for the kind words.
My complaint in Omaha Nebraska is why is Douglas County Assistance paying single women $700 a month plus helping with utilities and given a $75 general dollar gift card to not have to go out and apply for jobs not having to do any community service just sit and collect money and it's being pulled out of property taxes we are literally letting people that don't pay property taxes collect from property taxes and not have to do anything to earn it work for it or try to get themselves off of it this seems illegal or like we're paying people to become part of the state I mean if you go to Douglas County assistance on 42nd and Woolworths they basically just let you fill out a form and as long as you don't have kids which is really mind-blowing I would think if we're going to help anybody it would be single moms with kids but no single women with no kids here you go hundred dollars plus utilities
If I make a protest based on Equalization, would the city come and look at my house (inside & out) ?
From my understanding, there is always a chance they can visit the home. That is one of their options. Is it likely? That is something I do not know. Good luck with your protest and thanks for the comment.
Problem I have is a lot of my neighbors are renters, which are owned by cash bought investors
You are not alone. During the pandemic many institutional investors came into many markets across the US and bought many of the homes. Thanks for the comment.
Would you know if that happened in the Omaha area? Because I have an Aunt In Norfolk That has a really nice house and her house is only worth 200k and it would easily go for 400k if it was in the metro. Just a huge disparity. Not really fair for homeowners/ owner-occupied about the taxes.
@@m.miller2374 I am not familiar with the Norfolk market. Real estate is all local. I would have her contact local agent in her local market. They should be able to give you a market analysis for her home.
@@m.miller2374 in Omaha we did have out of state investors, I personally had a rental that I owned for many years purchased by an institutional investor out of Ohio. It was a cash sale.
