Very helpful video! I wired mine differently for the night driving and brake lights however. On my 2021 CX-5 Sig (USA), checking with a multimeter shows that the brown wire is the brake light (pedal) and the red wire is the night driving lights. This video appears to have those flipped. Also, on the USA Signature trim, the driver side reflector has 2 wiring harness (parking sensors?) brackets attached to it. You'll need to carefully remove that and re-secure the harness because the aftermarket lamps do not have accommodations for the harness brackets. I used adhesive cable clips and zip ties to do that. Furthermore, the aftermarket lamps squeaked and creaked on a road test, so I had to wedge foam insulation between the upper lip of the lamp and the inside of the bumper to silence them.
Good thing I came across your comment since I was convinced the red wire on the car side was the brakes. I too have a USA 21 Sig and will be installing these soon. Quick question on the additional brackets though. What kind of adhesive cable clips did you use and did you mount that to the inside of the bumper or on the inner body? I just figured I would be prepared beforehand for when I do this.
Thank you from Puerto Rico🙂, mine didn't even have any instructions at all. And my wires were red, black, yellow and white!!! But followed you step by step and it worked. Thanks again!
Thank you for taking the time to make this detailed video. I was trying to decide if it was worth doing or paying someone to do it. If you have a video of the front runners, I would be very interested in seeing it as well which I suspect is much more difficult to install.
I had my car shipped cross-county and when it arrived the piece at the 6:45 mark was missing and the light was loose. Any suggestions on what I can do? Thanks
I bought the same lights for my 2023 mazda ce and the taillight wiring is different. There are no light bulbs, it's one plug with 5 wires. I wired the new lights as instructed and it did not work, I tested it with a 12v battery so I know the light work. I also mixed up the wires incase the wiring was wrong and it did not work. Has anyone made this install?
Yes, very easy to do with black "Plasti-Dip". You just spray paint the badges and peel off the extra. It makes a rubber coating that is strong but easy to remove. Lots of guides on RUclips
You can add a basic switch at the bumper without too much effort, but it would be a challenge to route a wire all the way up to the drivers area to make it useable
Thank you very much for the great video and upgrade suggestions. Would you be willing to share what LED bulbs you put in the stock taillights and whether or not they or the new bumper lights resulted in any warning lights on the dash?
www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W7HVS57. That's the brake/Taillights, they work perfectly with no issues.. I went back to using the stock Turn signals bulbs, as if you use amber LED's it will result in "hyperflashing" of the signals due to reduced electrical resistance.
First - I got the 2 row led kits for the front bumper and I'm getting ready to install them. Any experience with them? Thanks for taking the time and sharing your knowledge and experience. I'm thinking of installing these now. The purpose of the video is to instruct people on how to install these lights. If the morons who were criticizing the video were still unable to install them, they shouldn't be performing mods in the first place.
Hi a question regarding your bumper protector, where did you got it? im looking for a new one but not all protectors are compatible due to the power liftgate error sensor thanks
On the CX-5 it is not so easy. You can either buy LED resistors, or replace the Turn signal module. I removed turn signal LED and just use brake light LED to make it easier. Look athe "resistors" here. www.diodedynamics.com/rear-turn-signal-leds-for-2013-2020-mazda-cx-5-pair.html
@@derekkosicki1425 just an FYI, I have gotten messages from people that their wire combinations are different. I would test the lights before soldering/taping the wires. Red to brown, red to green also worked for several people.
Your instructional skills are fantastic but you need better camera knowledge. At the very least, landscape mode with a cell phone. Nevertheless, I'm going to do this.
You're absolutely right Harry! This is really the first time I've made a video for RUclips. I realized half way through I was in the wrong orientation. In the future, I'll be more effort into the camera side. FYI: test your lights before soldering as I have heard the colors are not always the same on the new lights

Poor lighting, as well as garbled sound at times. Also need to back away the camera to get a better perspective of the whole thing. It's not quite as bad as the stuff on UNI channel. I needed to fix a popped-out reflector in my bumper. I wanted to know how it attaches on the inside, and this video showed me.
one of the best DIY tutorials! Thanks 😊

This is really a great video. Love the addition. I have a cx9 and want to add something like this. I’m just afraid of the warranty being voided.
Great job! The tail Looks much better !

Getting my CX5, thinking switching the bulbs to LED and doing this mod.. Thanks.
Nice job thanks for the tutorial it will help me on replacing a damaged fog light :) chuss

Yes, LEDs, so different than the model here.

Unfortunately if it is missing, you are in a rough spot. Can use JB plastic weld to permanently glue the reflector place.

It is probably different as the front may have fog lights wiring

Do you have to replace the led’s in this piece? If so, how???
It comes with LEDs already in the bumper lights as shown. I have had them installed for over a year and none have burned out

Have been working perfectly, without issues, and I live in a wet climate. If you solder/ heat shrink the wires, they can't get corroded at all
