The first motorcycle cycle I ever drove and owned. I rode it brand new from the world’s largest motorcycle dealer at the time (Anderson on Telegraph Rd, in Pontiac, MI). I never got over it.
Wow, that bike brings back memories. That was the first bike I ever owned, same color too. I bought it in 1976. When I was 18 years old. I put a Power All 232cc big bore kit with a bassani pipe. Awsome project.
I had a 74 Mod XL175 bought it new $650 back then 1st bike great dirt thumper would mono easy. Then in 81 l bought another with a candy apple red CR tank on it.The first one kick starter shaft broke as well.Cheers dude
Nice. I had an XL175 back in the 70s - sold it when my son was born in 79 so we could buy baby stuff. :) The orange shocks look good. Hope the resto goes well.

Thanks mate! I think you'll enjoy it! I used to feel the same way, I think you have to become the friend that does this stuff and others will follow ;)
You looks like a college boy who took serious old bike restoration even though as a hobby . I really appreciate that!. Actually old bike restoration is an obligation for college boys majoring in automotive engineering and industrial engineering. At least they do that for a hobby and at the same time to challenge themselves, and hey, it could lead another youtubers here like "When a Nuclear Scientist Restoring Old Dirt Bike". Cheers... :))
Mustie 2...Nice video kid...Im an old guy and have done my share of bike restorations...I really enjoyed yours...first time viewer and a new sub...can't wait for more! That bike is gunna be so fun to ride!
Nice video man! I got an 81 XL185S that im restoring at the moment, love it, from the looks of things theres not a lots thats different between the bikes aside from the updated ignition and timing.
My favorite year for the xl175s was 1976 since they were a nice blue color with a new style for the exhaust and didn't require a fully charged battery to run.
im (maybe) getting a 1977 honda XL175 today. hopefully its gonna be a good purchase. he says it runs good so ill have to test ride it a lil bit if i can
The letterman wave is a bit too big for me to carry. Keep a squirt on my keys at all times. Can do a surprising amount in a tiny package, highly recommend.
Where did you get the rear shocks from? Brand, part number? I am restoring my 76 XL175 that I have owned since new. I have done videos on my channel on it, if you care to check them out.
you can tell the owner abused the bike with almost no maintenance if the sprockets are missing teeth. they probably didn't change the oil regularly too...
the music is awful... I can’ t watch your videos because of it, sound off. I would rather hear silence and the mechanical sounds of your hands and wrenches working, like ASMR, than that awful music. Very annoying music. excellent videos visually, great mechanical work!! “Audio without pictures is radio. Video without sound is unwatchable.” ~old saying

Ive got a chance to get one of these for under $500 US. Had one as a kid. Favourite bike ever. Sounds like I should buy it.

Refreshing to see young blokes mucking around with bikes like we used to...well done.
Awesome video, love these types of people. Who work hard and explain what they do in action and small words.
Well done, sir, especially vibed with the garage-beer-fueled carb cleaning
No point suffering!
My first motorcycle (1974). Cool vid!
Beautiful bike for the age! Can't wait for the next video!
They were great little bikes and were fun to ride back in the 70s.
Had that bike in my high school days. Cool to see you resurrecting one.

Yet another adventure. .. you never cease to amaze me. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
Can't wait to see what you do for the kick starter shaft. I've got a '75 waiting for me to bring her back to life.

The letterman wave is a bit too big for me to carry. Keep a squirt on my keys at all times. Can do a surprising amount in a tiny package, highly recommend.
Thanks for the recommendation, I'll investigate!
Looking good mate!
you want to torque those bolts on wheel sprocket. also use lock tight on everything on a motorcycle. ( lots of vibration ) nice bike.
Wow. I very like this video. Hope you will make more videos like this in the future. Plz
Dude I LOVE it! Keep up the great work!!

Another great video mate. Very entertaining and good music. I wanted more!
Cool video guys
Great video, careful with bikes though! You always want more, it's a slippery slope!
Haha, would you believe I now own a klr650 as well!
Rubbish! I only own four bikes since passing my test three years ago..... oh.
Noticia
Bought one the same year for $750. Good reliable bikes in their day.
My first bike ! Loved that thing :-)
Good show!
it's awesome, Josh makes it all look possible .....you don't have to be some genius mad mechanic to make a bike. The video is genius tho.
Mmmm love the MGB GT in the background
Where did you get the rear shocks from? Brand, part number? I am restoring my 76 XL175 that I have owned since new. I have done videos on my channel on it, if you care to check them out.
which shocks did you order and do you like the ride in addition to the looks they provide? I have a '74 and in need of shocks as well. Thanks!
Where did you find those shocks and part #??...Im doin the same bike also!!!!
Sorry to trouble you but have a question; are the JBS shocks performing well and were they the right length? I assume those are the 365mm length.
I still love this motorbike... i would buy it if i get one in perfect condition...
Good luck with that these were not particularly used for nice and easy cruising on the highway
That chain guard is super rare af
yo man... ! Blastin that thing on moms pavers !!
A Cats Empire fan. :D
Beautiful taste!
you can tell the owner abused the bike with almost no maintenance if the sprockets are missing teeth.

Just saw this and I’m doing mine now; same question; love those new shocks and want some.
First dual sport was the 1968 Yamaha DT-1.

700 dollars!!! You've got to be kidding 🤣😂😃😃
Could you ride it with only one shock without breaking it in the rear?
It'd be ridiculously unbalanced and quite uncomfortable to ride I'm not sure if it would break but I certainly wouldn't try it
i want join ur company...nice work
