    ABOUT US.
We’re the Lockwoods: a family with 3 kids, 5 careers, and endless passion for adventure. Two years ago, we decided it was time for Phil's ad agency to abandon the in-person, 5-day workweek. So they 86’d the office and work hours, allowing our own family to start traveling almost constantly. We now work, school, and explore in a different place every week-from our own mountain and beach homes to exotic villas, resorts, and yachts around the world. As we experience and support diverse cultures, we hope to inspire more families to design a life of freedom and adventure.
Because there’s a new American Dream. It’s one that’s void of templated expectations, templated career paths, templated education, templated families, templated homes, and templated lives. Freedom is no longer an American tagline-it’s just the new, global way of life.
Every day that you spend doing something that doesn’t fulfill you to your core, you’re living your life on pause. You’re deferring genuine family time with no guarantee that there will be a tomorrow or a someday. Some people follow that mentality their entire lives. We’ve chosen to never live that way again.
We appreciate you following our journey. The more our channel grows, the more time we can spend traveling to more locations, contributing to these cultures, highlighting local businesses, and sharing inspiring stories from these communities. So please consider liking, commenting, and subscribing so that you can stick with us for the long haul.

I’ve thought about joining Inspirato so your video is very helpful .
Have you been to Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard ? Both are beautiful . I chartered a boat last summer to do both islands and I’m going again this coming summer .
I didn’t know there are still parents who raise children that are well behaved . So happy to see a family like yours . It gives me hope for our future .

Thanks for subscribing! Yes, we just visited Martha’s Vineyard for the first time last autumn while on an Inspirato trip on the cape. Unfortunately it rained but we could still see the attraction! We had another Inspirato trip to Nantucket a while back (ruclips.net/p/PLURNaS9aYkmwl1PWepMsQJJyuHxMLzLPc&si=Tmg3DU0P8qQKRkHc) and love that island, too.

husband speaking - I can't believe it, I have no comment. SO, maybe another story from Cebu. my 2nd or 3rd trip. We are in town at night, a big celebration ( what I don't remember )
but there are several hundred folks, standing and sitting in the chairs set up in front of an outdoor stage. The local Mayor is walking around before the program starts, sees my wife,
and invites both of us up on stage to sit there for the program.. Again, clan names are very important to the local folks and also some times I feel like a status symbol for my wife.
It is not me, but only that I am American and that usually means $$$. In Mandaue, mom is a millionaire ( in pesos, 20 k per million ) That also gets her lots of attention. Also she
is always helping the local folks outside our compound / resort hiring them for small jobs around our home which I can't do because of the sun and humidity. ( right now, 8:45 pm ,
Pacivic time, she is talking to our maid , time there about almost noon ) The resort guards have set up a guard shack _ 100' from our front door to watch over our home.

Very interesting to get that perspective from a local… we researched and revised our definition of “the Hamptons” more than once and finally decided that locals are pretty loose on the borders. It got to the point where it seemed like many would even include Montauk. No dice, though? Would locals include West Hampton? (Our research only officially lists East and South but it would be strange to exclude another adjacent Hampton). Thanks for the input!

    • @aidanw.c.
      @aidanw.c. 2 года назад +1

@@lockwoodphil Hi Phillip, glad to see you were intrigued by this point and went above and beyond with the research. So I think to answer this question (not that it’s even that important but rather interesting) is to use 3 different methodologies. 1) Legal Boundary and Location 2) Standard of living (Prevalence of Crime, Quality and cost of Services, and some aesthetic nuances) and 3) the housing market (whether or not there’s an abundant estate section. Interestingly enough and at least on the legal boundary front, even mainstream sources like Wikipedia will tell you that “Eastport” is part of the Hamptons. But this is nonsense since parts of the Eastport municipality are part of Brookhaven Township (inherently invalidating it’s status as a geographic Hampton). Mind you, Southampton and Easthampton are townships encompassing many hamlets and various municipalities. Some of which are incorporated and others not. To answer your question directly, Westhampton is considered one of the most outer west villages and hamlets in the town of Southampton which in my view would legally earn its status as a Hampton. Coupled by the fact that it definitely captures the atheistic charm, has a robust housing market (especially Westhampton beach along the dunes) and it’s standard of living is generally acknowledged as that of comparable to Southampton or bridge Hampton. This stuff can get very confusing lol, but as some one who once worked in local government, it does give me a bit of a deeper view lol. As for riverhead, there was actually litigation years and years ago that you can search between dividing riverhead and it’s various surrounding hamlets. The result: Wading River (just north of riverhead) is considered both Brookhaven township and Riverhead township. Riverhead township also includes some hamlets such as baiting hollow, James port, manorville, etc). By saying that riverhead is part of the Hamptons you would then have to legally say that all of its encompassing hamlets inherently are to, haha. But I know what you mean, you’re under the impression that the village of riverhead (where you ate) is potentially a Hampton. To be blunt, if you were to invoke some crowd theory and ask many residents of the east end, I’d bet most would say riverhead is inevitably disqualified. I say this because aside from the legal boundary, it’s even geographically settled on the north fork. The Hamptons geographically is universally viewed as the south fork and its corresponding hamlets and townships. So Aidan’s official position, lol, is that Westhampton and everything else eastbound is definitely a Hampton, and yes absolutely Montauk (which is in the east Hampton township). All set aside, I am not of the position that riverhead is a subpar place. There is great development going on there and they have a lot to offer as a city, most notably, it’s central business district and shopping. I hope your journey leads you to more great restaurants in the area and thanks for your curiosity. Though in retrospect, it’s a trivial thing. Just a little debate among the locals lol.

Parents seem cool, but on some level I can’t help but feel bad for kids whom parents are RUclipsrs…can’t help but feel this is no way to grow up,…the travel & experiences are great but yr life under the scope of a camera….seen many couple break up, because life seem like one more recording session after another & other than being “on”, but they take themselves way too seriously as d list celebs…heck lower than that….but on the other hand the kids experience life more than their contemporaries and expands their
palette. As opposed to most silly American kids who only wants McDonalds or stupid chicken fingers & fries. Ps - digging his case Kasey type made for radio voice.
