  • Filmed on 22/06/2024. After the weeks events of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway Diesel, it is time to make a re visit for the first time in 6 years to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway for their annual Diesel Gala.
    The fleet of locomotives running:
    37250
    50008 Thunderer
    50021 Rodney
    D1015 Western Champion
    D9520
    D0226
    37075
    69009
We start the day at Keighley where we see 37250 running round its train to work on the short freight shuttle service to Ingrow West Station. Next, we see 37075 thrashing its way towards Oxenhope with plenty of enthusiasts on board. Next, we see D0226 arrives into Keighley shunting freight waggons into Keighley station where 37250 will take the freight shuttle. 50008 'Thunderer' arrives into Keighley with a service from Oxenhope. 37250 departs with D0226 in tow on the freight shuttle.
Moving along the line to Haworth yard where we see D1015 Western Champion departs where it will shunt and couple in front of 50008 to double head on a train bound for Keighley from Oxenhope. Whilst we await for the next train, we see 50021 being shunted around the yard by an 08 shunter where it would start up ready for the days work ahead. 69009 shunts and moves one of the DMU's into the sheds. 37250 and 37075 thrashes away nicely working a double headed service to Oxenhope.
At the end for line at Oxenhope, we see the arrival of 50021 'Rodney' where it runs around with a short turn around time and thrashes away working a service back to Keighley. After a bit of walking through the fields, we make it it halfway between Haworth and Oxenhope. Where we see D1015 Western Champion thrashes away heading towards Oxenhope. D1015 is also seen at the similar location working back to Keighley. 37250 thrashes along working to Oxenhope.
As we walk along towards Oakworth, we see 69009 up close and personal working to Oxenhope which has also been spotted at Oakworth station. The final train of the day, we see D1015 Western Champion thrashes out of Oakworth with a train for Oxenhope.

This was a great day! Great shots there too, Ricky. Shame I didn't bump into you at Oxenhope but if you saw some mad looking person holding up a tripod above the crowds that wouldve been me 😅
