Some stay in the same area & work or live in the area. Whether one lives in a house or vehicle, there is always something to fix, negatives, positives, etc. One just needs to weigh the Pros & Cons according to their own personal situation & needs.

But yeah it is hell to have IBS or any bowel issues while on the road. Few months back I ate something that got rejected while I had to deliver a load from the Netherlands to France. Right at the start of the Journey. Luckily I could divert my route past my appartment. But I still had to take an emergency stop at a gas station before I could continue.
If I was still in my van it would have been easy. Just get a bucket and a trashbag. Because that toilet will be full by the end of the day when your stomach gets upset 😂😂😂.

    Should keep you safe.

I'm a guy and I'm afraid of some parking lots. There are crazy and hot-headed people out and about. I've been attacked in my local Walmart parking lot three times, twice just sitting in my car. And I don't live in a bad area, my city has one of the lowest crime rates in the area.
One time during lunch at Walmart a guy threw his McDonald's bag of trash into my car through my open window and tried to open my door and called me a racist. I've literally never seen this guy, he was probably on drugs. That or he took issue with my employment with Walmart as I've had many tell me its a racist place that discriminates and harasses its customers.
The other time a guy walked up to my car from behind and spooked me when he appeared in the window and tried to get me to lower my window. When I didn't comply beyond a slim gap so we could easier talk he tried to open my door which was locked and then starting kicking and smacking my car. Before walking away yelling further abuse. Then he returned and tried breaking in again.
And once a customer I had approached at the Self-Checkout stations about not scanning items (literally dozens of items and they were suspicious as all get out looking around like they were being watched, which they were) waited for me after work and tried to pick a fight and hollered things at me. They tried to splash their soda at me too and thre the bottle at me. I just went back inside Walmart and alerted security after realizing they'd probably follow me to my car.
There are crazy people out there.

Fr! I cant feel any empathy or sympathy for you when you choose to live this way and can opt out at any point, its weird when high income people pick lives like these that are essentially glamorizations of ways soem low income people live without a chouce and then complain about it being difficult. If you enjoy it, good for you. But dont complain about it and expect me to feel bad

That's why I decided against buying a van for road travel trips here in Australia......I value my safety and security.....am still going to do those driving trips in my new fuel efficient Mitsubishi ASX SUV but stay at budget hotels, air bnb etc, more privacy, more comfortable.....and will still enjoy myself, still meet people, still spend time in nature, take photos.....but I admire and respect those who choose to do van travel and living!

I just started the van life with the crazy rent prices here in socal rn, I just pay someone $300 a month to park in their driveway. It’s totally worth it because I’m allowed to use the Wi-Fi, they have a bathroom in the detached garage, only time I sometimes see the home owners is when I shower inside the house, and they even allow me to hook up to water and electric when I’m parked there. The worst part at first was definitely finding low key parking spots overnight, but now I can park without anyone ever bothering me again😁
