Z is probably not gonna happen now, What I am hoping for now is a Legends game. Probably Legends: Zygarde. It’s gonna happen, I can pretty much smell it in the distance. It’s coming…
One more piece of evidence suggesting that Zygarde was planned to get more in gen 6 that wouldve been in Z/XY2 is the fact that multiple of Zygarde's signature moves had data and animations in gen 6 games despite never being usable outside of hacking really makes you wonder how far they got with Z before it was scrapped
Also AZ's Floette with a signature move. AZ was part of the main story and maybe both of their roles would've been expanded with a post game event to have AZ battle/gift you the Floette.
@@Kenpachi546 that too, though that could have also potentially just been a wifi event or something but as is the case with everything related to Z, we'll probably never know for certain

I think it was intended to be used for battling but tbh after it was forced into war by soldiers and died I don't think AZ would ever want to use his beloved Floette in battle even when it's immortalized.
Pokemon x and Y were the weirdest game in my opinion, because looking at all those places that seem to be just waiting for an event to be triggered… like a train waiting to arrive, a key to open a certain entrance, and what about the girl who went missing in… presumably: Zygarde's cave?
I agree. These games had so much potential. All the places that did appear to have events and so many mysteries that never get a solution and are just there to never be solved, almost like they had a plan for everything, they could have had so many awesome things happen and could have made this game one of the greatest games ever. Things like that pillar in Lumiose City where they talk about Heatran and the other stuff in the video would have been so cool. The game did feel like it fell super short after the story with no events.
Stop it bro you’re gonna make me think of what could’ve happened a revamped kalos Game could’ve been so good and we’d be talking about it like platinum and how it makes the game so good and it’s the best version to play but will never know makes me sad
I think Ash-Greninja might actually have had SOMETHING to do with Pokemon Z. Looking forward, remember how the Galar starters dropped with no gigantamax forms, but later got them in the DLC? I suspect a similar thing was meant to happen with the Kalos starters, recieving mega evolutions in Z. The anime would have already had plans to include these, but when Z was scrapped it was too late to completely change plans so Ash was awkwardly given Ash-Greninja instead of a proper Mega Greninja.
The problem with that theory is Ash’s Greninja’s design, it has too much Ash and not enough Calem(male protagonist of XY). Ash-Greninja has spiky hair to match Ash’s hair. Calem’s hair is smooth and straight hair. Ash-Greninja’s chest symbol is based on Ash’s partially unzipped XY jacket. While Ash’s XY jacket is very similar to Calem’s jacket, Calem wears it fully zipped up, Ash’s Greninja’s chest symbol would have looked different if it was original based of Calem’s design. Third games also generally feature majors default outfit changes, a Pokemon Z Calem’s outfit would almost certainly look much different than XY Calem and Ash’s outfit.
@@Distortion23 I'm not saying ash greninja is literally using the design of mega greninja, I'm saying there probably was a mega greninja planned but they had to change it, including the design.
@@revalentinemashups510 To add on Gen 7 and 8 Starters did receive Z Moves and GMax forms so GF at least knew to use starters to market their own gimmicks.
That or they just played favorites with greninja because he's literally voted the #1 most popular pokemon in Japan. Japanese people love greninja more than Pikachu.
Honestly I can see them maybe making a legends game for gen 5, then 6. Both of those gens as had a bit more emphasis on ancient lore than most other gens save for 4, and could do well with a legends spin off
It would be cool if you play though the whole Az Pokémon war, it would be really interesting and a HUGE step from Legends Arceus story. Most likely you’ll play as Calem/Serena’s ancestors (or just Calem/Serena brought back to the past but with different names? I don’t know legends Arceus story really confuses me) and you’ll see ancestors of kalos and hoenn characters.
I would kill for a Legends Necrozma, What If... You could *play* as Necrozma at his absolute prime, seeing how he fell from grace due to a group being greedy and having the Ultra Beasts worlds become even bigger to explore
In addition to everything presented here, there's also a *lot* of stuff missing from XY itself, lending to the idea that they're very unfinished games; a prototype build leaked with ~40 additional pokemon slots that were completel empty, like a middle evolution between Bergmite and Avalugg, and a bunch of other stuff like a lot more location headers and text that points to things like the plot being massively rewritten, lysandre being another professor called patrice instead, and the power plants being the original location of team flare's base.
I wonder if they would have expanded the map like in bw2. Since the region is based off of the north of france, they could have extended the map a bit more south
No. They cut content to better meet their deadline (pokemon almost never gets pushed back). Any content that appears unfinished/unpolished are just holdovers from the version they wanted to make but never developed on.
People will remember XY for the first main games for a worldwide release, the iconic anime (XYZ), bringing the Pokémon community together and XY being the first to not get a sequel/third game, thus making Zygarde a wanderer in regions it wasn’t debuted in.
Man, poor Zygarde. Had to wait till another generation to get the special treatment Giratina and Kyreum got in their gens. It's like having microwaved leftovers while your family gets to go to a 5-star restaurant.
Honestly kyurem still disappointed me, what the point of the 3 of them being originally one dragon if you only let us fuse 2 of them ?????? (Still better than nothing but it does feel unfinished)
Out of boredom, I decided to finish the last gym and League in XY last May after not having touched Pokemon for over five years. I finished the game and adored it, feeling that Az's reunion almost spoke to me. XY were fair games, but Kalos may be my favorite region. I hope that we can go back someday.
How about Calem-chesnaught (his starter in anime) serena-delphox (her starter in anime) ash - greninja ( ash starter in the anime) ash is not game character but maybe it could be
For real. Third version games should not have been a thing by Gen 6. And I guess they weren't present in Gen 6, but it's insane that they still existed in Gen 7. Both Gens absolutely could've had DLC
The issue with DLCs over an enhanced version is that DLC mostly don't touch the maingame too much. Heck, the Sword and Shield DLC actually made some of its new features DLC area-exclusive!
@@lpfan4491 It beats having to pay for (essentially) the same game again just to get some new extra content imo. Also, I'd like for the main story content to feel complete in the base game anyway. I think the extra content should be new and original. But either way, I'm buying because Pokémon.
@@Pownchao The issue with that argument is that I'd personally rather settle for less rather than get nothing at all, which is what we are left with in that regard now. Also, they were very sneaky anyhow. One is expected to buy the DLC twice to get all the pokemon and in the end, that is the same price as it would have been to buy a third edition...so doesn't really beat it.
@@lpfan4491 Respectfully, it still sounds like a better deal to me because DLC is all new content. I'm not buying both versions, and I can still manage to get every Pokémon through trading. It also makes more sense to do DLC on Game Freak's end because they don't have to ship a new game entirely just to patch in a couple of things. It let's them work on new stuff for the same game while still seeing essentially the same profit. It makes more sense, and is why they are switching to it. I think I see where you're coming from though, but I can't see it as being the preferred method between the two.
I honestly get sad whenever I think about this. Pokemon Z was one of my most anticipated games ever so to see that it got cancelled and no signs of it getting revived just stings. Atleast the anime was fire
Something that was never announced isn’t really cancelled. I even doubt it was really planned in the first place to be honest. SuMo’s development must have started right when XY was finished and the B-Team was working on ORAS in the meantime, so I don’t even see who could have worked on this supposed third version (unless the anime counts, in which case just watch the crappy anime and stop whining).
The two core concept explains the colours on 100% form too. Wow... so much sense... The signature moves might have been 'version exclusive too', matching with the main legendary of your game.
Pokémon Z is super interesting from a a production perspective. It makes more sense why it didn’t come out now. Shoutout to Team Valley’s Pokémon Z rewrite if you’re curious how much potential a Pokémon Z version had
Pokemon X and Y are so incomplete but what’s make them more incomplete is the 3 Kalos Trio isn’t built. All 3 barely appear in the plot, barely do anything, and have little to no lore
I know it’s an unpopular stance but gen 6 is my favorite. I was a gen 1 guy as a kid and these got me back into the series. Loved mega evolutions and greninja. Gen 6 will always be my favorite.
Pokémon X&Y was a huge leap forward. Sure, the games were not perfect as every transition between 2D and 3D games, but the experience were more immersive and smoother. You evolve on 3D instead of a grid, thanks to the infamous roller skate. The PSS is, so far, the best iterations of multiplayer feature the Pokémon games had, Pokémon-Amie is very well made (too bad it adds bonuses in the battles) and so is Super Training: a nice side mini-game. The best inclusions are probably balanced related (addition of Fairy, Steel less powerful...), the Mega-Evolution and the Trainer customization. X&Y are the games that incited me to complete my Pokédex and go online to try competitive battle, as every games before always felt like a offline game (thanks Supertraning / Horde encounter and Destiny Knot). I believe people dislike X&Y in retrospective. X&Y are the "Super Mario 64" of the Pokémon games. Yet, Sun&Moon and Sword&Shield should have been the "Super Mario Sunshine" and the "Super Mario Galaxy", yet feels like "Super Mario 64: beach edition" and "Super Mario 64: HD remaster". So they blame X&Y because Gamefreak didn't manage to evolve the games properly.
I doubt it though I suppose it depends who handles it, but if the gen 4 remakes couldn't put in Platinum content I dont see them adding cut content to gen 6 remake, even if it would be for the best.
maybe im too optimistic, but im really hoping we might get something in gen 9. gen 5 already has sequels and is a very fleshed out game, so im really hoping they might remake or do spin offs for gen 6 first.
Hopefully if in the future we get remakes we get all the cut content. Maybe they do a Legends game base on Unova and then the "traditional" remake for XY
The reason why X and Y is my least favourite gen is because it felt rushed, easy and incomplete. You could tell they wanted to make Z with the anime and all the things this added in sun/moon. It's shame gen 6 got screwed.
I really loved kalos and had such a great time playing x & y but it feels incomplete because you can tell there was meant to be a third version with all the little things left unanswered and areas expanded upon. I wouldn't mind revisiting kalos as a legends game because I love legends and hope they keep making them but a pokemon X & Y remastered or remade on switch would be pretty cool too 😎.
I remember finishing X and being greatly confused and disappointed. The game felt rushed and the ending was abrupt. Always felt like there was supposed to be so much more to it
I started playing Pokémon in gen 6 and it’s still my favorite due to nostalgia, I understand the games bring almost nothing to the table and I can’t wait for a remake. They need to be done right
Seeing how the hexagons on the two Zygarde Cores correspond to only two of the five colored hexagons inside Zygarde’s chest, five Cores were probably planned since the beginning though maybe only two were meant to appear in the story. The Cores don’t have to be fused with cells at all times so the math doesn’t have to make sense.
1. XY didn’t get incredible initial feedback so Gamefreak just scrapped Kalos instead of trying to improve it and returned to baiting nostalgia frogs. 2. It doesn’t make enough money if they can’t make 2 versions. That’s why we got B2W2 instead of Grey, USUM instead of Star, BDSP instead of a Platinum remake, LGPE instead of just one Yellow remake, and why we didn’t get a Pokémon Z.
I’m looking very far into the future, I know, but I’m really hoping that when the inevitable Gen 6 remakes come out, we see significant improvements to the kalos region
Man, I started playing Pokemon in ven 6, and I really wanted to see more of Kalos. I still do. It hurts to hear that there would've been another game and it just got cancelled because Game Freak is convinced for some reason that they need to hurry every game now instead of waiting and giving them the development time they need :/ Maybe in like a decade or so when they make a remake of X and Y they'll finally expand upon Kalos. I hope so
I hope they go back and revisit the Kalos region now that we have an UK and Spain region. With the new open world concept it could be one of their greatest games.
I hope we eventually get a Pokémon Z in the form of Pokémon Legends Zygard or something like that. It would be sick, it could take place during the ancient war or something
Because GF were too keen to push ahead with Gen VII, why not finish Kalos off. Z could have been a great 20th celebration and a send off to the handheld era. Keep sun and moon for the switch and finish Kalos off
There is also a possibility that ORAS and SM/USUM took ideas that were scrapped/changed from XY. Some sources say that originally the plot of XY was about aliens and team Flare were invaders who attacked Kalos region. If I am not mistaking fairy type was planned to be called something like moon type and Diantha and Valerie were aliens (explains Valerie's eyes btw). Mega evolution also had a different name and origin. Delta episode is similar because it's about stopping a space threat (deoxys) and ultra beasts pretty much invaded Alola (though not from space). Maybe it's all fake and there were no plans like that. If so, then please forgive me for disinformation.
Gen 1: Yellow Gen 2: Crystal Gen 3: Emerald Gen 4: Platinum Gen 5: Black 2 & White 2 Gen 6: n/a (make it!) Gen 7: Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Gen 8: Isle of Armor & Crown Tundra I really loved Pokémon XYZ anime. It was awesome!
Someone probably mentioned this, but the five core colors perfectly correspond to the Gen. 6 games: Blue for X, Red for Y, Purple for Alpha Sapphire, Orange for Omega Ruby, and whatever the last color was for the Z game(s).
I remember being so excited for the first mainline 3D games. Kalos felt fresh and alive in a way that was totally different from previous games. ORAS and S/M were fun but they didn’t capture that same degree of wonder for me. Kalos deserved better.
A part of me hopes that if the rumors of older Pokemon games are going to be rereleased for the Switch that GF might actually consider releasing Z on it. Very unlikely I know but still.
I think that this many projects really hurt every other one. Too many pots on the stove, not enough cooks. Everyone sees all 3D Pokémon games as less than the 2d sprite based games (minus the QOL changes and fairy type) but if they had less games with bigger teams with more dev time they’d end up a lot better. One company one team one game, but maybe that’s too much to ask for a studio whose company has as many employees as Nintendo had on the botw team. It’s not like these guys are making the baseline product for the icons used for the highest grossing media franchise of all time or anything
I’m gonna echo a few others and say that for next Pokémon Legends game should be “Legends: Zygarde” and explore with was supposedly meant to be explored in the scrapped Pokémon Z. Maybe I tore ice a new 25% form and explore the history of Zygarde in Kalos and beyond. Always thought it was weird we didn’t get complete form untill gen 7 almost like Z was meant to happen but was scrapped last minute and thus Zygarde was just pulled along into the next generation a first for the third member of a legendary trio who’s own legend wasn’t explored much in the first Gen 6 Pokémon X&Y games.
9:30 I really think Mega-Evolutions were planned for all three starters but because X2 and Y2 got scrapped, it resulted in them rushing to fix in something comparable to a Mega Evolution for Greninja After all, if Ash didn’t have a Mega Greninja, how would it be able to fight other Mega’s like Alan’s Charizard or Sawyer’s Sceptile Not to mention but they couldn’t be able to give Greninja a mega in the anime solo because that would cause continuity issues and it would mean Greninja would be a mega in a generation that had added no new Mega Evolutions
It would be really cool for Zygarde to get a Legends-type game that's set in Kalos. Heck, with how Mold Breaking PLA became for the Pokemon formula, it would be really damn awesome for the hypothetical Legends game to also have a post-game with Alola since Zygarde's also got connections there.
It makes me sad. X/Y definitely gets over hated and I think it really deserved another game. Edit: The replies are proving my point. I don't care if you hate X/Y. They're great games, deal with it.
@@Jarekthegamingdragon agreed. they were really easy but the reasoning behind their difficulty is understandable, and the games were amazing in many other ways.
I'm Gonna Say This Rn. They Had X/Y Sequels Planned But They Saw How Badly(Not Exactly Bad But Small For Pokémon Standards) Black/White 2 Sold And Scrapped It.
what if they intended to include mega-esque forms for the starters but since the sequel games for x and y were cancelled, they changed it to be the anime based ash-greninja
Honestly, Pokémon Z deserves to be a game. Cuz like, in sun and moon I really didn’t like how they showed 100 percent Zygarde with like no story behind it and only able to get him through cells or catching him in a cave again. Could of also changed a lot in terms of story mode as well. And maybe had mega evolution for the elite four and few last gym leaders
You can tell they wanted to make x and y more character driven with the gap between the first and second gym we were probably going to get character bonding with our “friends” and other gym leaders that’s why the gen 6 ones seem so bland we never got to see them properly we also would of had more interactions with Lysander who had a lot of potential to be a cool villain but was just wasted X lysander is completely different to y lysander with x being way better someone wanting to make everything immortal so nothing would change compared to y genocidal goals which is just dumb we probably should of had more battles with megas and access to more megas stones before the post game like we get what five befor the postgame it’s stupid
Honestly, pokemon Z is still a game that I would want. Pokémon XY started off with great concepts and features, but still needed a lot more. I hope one day when we get a remake, they just make a Pokémon Z and add many new things.
I'm glad youtube recommended this video to me. I think all the details you included about the development history helped me understand why I stopped playing pokemon after sun and moon (didn't pick up the ultra versions or sw/sh). I'm glad I've gotten back into pokemon with the release of legends: arceus.
It really frustrates me that Gamefreak is prioritizing quantity over quality because yaaay money. The last games are not bad but the flaws are so evident, and they don't care about correcting it anymore like they used to do, ie the massive improvements in Platinum when the issues in D/P were brought to light. I really enjoyed X/Y and was genuinely expecting all the previous issues with both plot and gameplay to be fixed but no. "Here, have Alola instead. Btw the story is not complete, you'll have to buy US/UM too, despite being practically the same game." Also we don't have to talk about SP/BD, it speaks for itself.
So here’s a thought I don’t think Calos Reserve 3 and Calos Reserve 4 were decided which they wanted to be as you can see enhanced Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon were already designated Sun 2 and Moon 2 and if they were sequels I think they would have been designated X Sequel and Y Sequel, this suggests to me that they were undecided and had to “Reserve” 2 spots in case they chose XY2 and if not that extra spot could be used for something else or discarded. X Core and Y Core Zygarde is likely true alongside Volcanion being Pokemon Z event but I think it is possible Ash Greninja could have been from Z as well. What you said about Serena Delphox (don’t Google it) and Clemont Chesnaught was possibly an idea but under a different name in Z [Player] Chesnaught/ Delphox/ Greninja as a way to give the Kalos starters a Mega equivalent as they did with the Hoenn starters in Omega Ruby Alpha Sapphire and that would be incorporated into the anime but they only finished Greninja since he was the main Character of the Anime’s Pokemon (and the most popular), Likely progress was slow with the more experienced members of the team being pulled away for Sun Moon and without the vision fully decided (according to my speculation) when the team was stretched thin and something had to give it would probably only seem logical that Kalos round 2 whatever that be was that game and they then were pulled for Sun Moon and told put your Z concepts in Sun Moon. Of course this is entirely speculation but given the concepts and others like Eternal Flower Floette and Zygarde’s Signiture moves having data in gen 6 but not being usable seems to line up.
I loved Pokemon X and Y so much, but it left me wanting more and I'm quite unhappy that we'll never get that Z version. :( Unless we wait 20 years for the remasters of X and Y and they release Z as part of the celebration.
Honestly, Unova doesn't need an remake. An port or remastered is fine; with Fairy types added would be an little bit of an change. But not an actual remake. I prefer Legend: Unova or BW3 over an actual remake.
@@phantommontalbanoinc.447 Chill, the only Fairy type native to Unova is Whimsicott. Granted, if they were to remake the sequels too, you could have Azumarill, Clefable, Sylveon and Wigglytuff (tho the last one is post-game only), and most of these are pretty good, so Dragons beware!
I remember a black and white rumour/leak before it was released saying that were were 157 new Pokemon and they described one of them which fit the description for Zygarde so we could have seen him as early as that
Kalos needed Z. They could of opened up the locked areas (power plant, train station to nowhere, etc), tweaked all the trainers teams (they usually do that in the third installment) and maybe gave some of the Kalos pokemon megas. I always that it was strange that in the region the mega phenomenon occurs, none of the Kalosian pokemon were effected. I think it was planned for Z but they never got the chance. That's why I think in subsequent regions the local pokemon are given the gens gimmick right off the hop. Alolan pokemon/ starters are given their own signature Z-moves and Galar pokemon/ starters are given their own signature Gigantamax forms.
Here’s an idea What if Calos Reserve 3 and Calos Reserve 4 were enhanced X and Y (Z) and then something else like a Wii U game set on the Pokemon War (like a theoretical Legends Zygarde) Pokemon Zero
If you want to look at it like this, there is still a chance we will get Kalos in it's full intended form. I mean think about it, we are two away from Gen 6 Remakes, so that would be the perfect time to add back in all the stuff that they were originally going to do an give Kalos the glow up it deserves.
It will likely be like BDSP. If XY even gets re-released, it will probably be during gen 12 which would likely release in 2031… And 2031 will be pokemon’s 35th anniversary so GF will probably have other plans than developping a shitty remake of a shitty game.
@@---oq5kb I’ve had the same concern over Gen 5 remakes as well. Probably a cut down version of BW2 resembling a BW1.5 of sorts. Imagine if they cut the whole entire southwest area of Unova from BW2. I’m not as optimistic about remakes after BDSP.
@@wtpiv6041 tbh not having b2w2 content on a bw remake would make more sense than what bdsp did with platinum content. b2w2 take 2 place after the originals, while platinum is an enhanced telling of the original story.
@@---oq5kb Fair point. Though I had meant the towns added in BW2 more so than characters or storylines. Though they might not as it would alter the story routes from the first games.
Pokemon Z is like the Star Wars 1313 of Pokemon games. It was this potentially amazing game that everyone wanted and it was cancelled and we'll never see another game like it again. 😫😭😵
Really hope whenever Gens 6 and 7 are up for remakes that Gamefreak is in a much better position from now where they don’t have to rush out games by cutting all the extra content and leaving them unpolished, just so they could meet a deadline. Kalos and Alola have so much going for them, much of which never got the chance to be explored and fleshed out properly.
Funny I just captured Zygarde in Pokémon X thereby completing the game. It was a wild ride Pokémon X but I had a lot of fun. I definitely agree the games are way too overhated but they do have their shortcomings that could have been resolved in expanded versions. It was such a shock back in 2016 when we found out that Kalos was being ditched after the initial pair of games. It sucks how Game Freak handled the whole thing but the way things are with all the game development crunching happening now it seems we are going to have to deal with more cut content into Generation 9.
I think gen 6 was amazing (in my opinion better than everyone's favourites 5, 7 and 8) but you can really tell things were cut short in XY and ORAS. Maybe in 2028 or something they'll release a Pokemon Legends Zygarde to make up for it
Im hoping with the new direction that Game Freak has been taking, we will see Kalos games as remakes in all their glory. I loved Kalos as a region when it came out, although the evil team was a bit..... Well, you know. A remake would be a great chance to add in that Z content and flesh out more aspects of the game. I know it's probably not going to come until after gen 10, and likely will be supported on whatever they decide is the next generation switch, but the thought keeps me hopeful.

That or they just played favorites with greninja because he's literally voted the #1 most popular pokemon in Japan. Japanese people love greninja more than Pikachu.
I just want Pokémon Legends: Zygarde, and will 100% accept that as an apology for how lacking Gen 6 was.
I'll cosign this as well. I really hope for more legends games and kalos would be super cool.
I’d love a Kyruem or Zygarde legends game. I’d love to see the “original dragon” and more zygarde lore
I would kill for a Legends Necrozma,
What If...
You could *play* as Necrozma at his absolute prime, seeing how he fell from grace due to a group being greedy and having the Ultra Beasts worlds become even bigger to explore

Anyday now..
Number 1: It gets released
Don’t worry King, they’ll come back around when they announce the remake.
Wait, WHAT!? Proto X and Y got leaked? When?
Do you have a link with more info about the prototype you’re talking about?
@@lpfan4491 it was part of the 2020 megaleak, nothing unique to it; just empty folders indicating stuff that *was* there got removed
The Pokemon XYZ Anime was great, it was the peak of Pokemon Anime.
The XYZ anime is garbage. Honestly worst then the games.

Meanwhile, Dialga & Palkia finally got their Origin formes
Entarntus having a major focus in sword and shield that most third legendaries don't get in the base games.

I'll never understand why they couldn't have just done DLC with X and Y. The 3DS was more than capable enough for them to implement it at the time.
I'd suggest watching Tam Valley Productions' pokemon Z visual novel type video. It's great
Its NOT cancelled, it is coming in 2025.
No its real 😂🎉
The two core concept explains the colours on 100% form too. Wow... so much sense... The signature moves might have been 'version exclusive too', matching with the main legendary of your game.
Who's here after Pokemon Legends Z teaser?
Pokémon Z is super interesting from a a production perspective. It makes more sense why it didn’t come out now. Shoutout to Team Valley’s Pokémon Z rewrite if you’re curious how much potential a Pokémon Z version had
It’s crazy how incomplete Gen 6 feels. Even ORAS felt incomplete without Battle Frontier.
Pokemon X and Y are so incomplete but what’s make them more incomplete is the 3 Kalos Trio isn’t built. All 3 barely appear in the plot, barely do anything, and have little to no lore
They have lore through pokedex entries.
That already makes them superior to Eternatus.
Pokemon Z is back as of today!
It’s been 3,000 years and my favorite legendary Pokémon is finally getting his own game. He really needed this because he was done dirty in Gen 6
It may have been over 10 years, but we finally got it.
I know it’s an unpopular stance but gen 6 is my favorite. I was a gen 1 guy as a kid and these got me back into the series. Loved mega evolutions and greninja. Gen 6 will always be my favorite.
XY is not my favorite pkmn game (u will never be dethroned o emerald) but it's probably the pkmn game i had the most fun with.
I always hated Kalos, but it didn’t seem super unpopular on release, so I wonder why they never made Z. There was only room for improvement in kalos
They weren't my faves but that doesn't mean I didn't love them. I think I'd put gen 6 over gen 4 not counting spinoffs but also counting remakes
X/Y had it's problems. But i enjoyed it. It was really nice seeing 3D pokemon and characters.
im kinda expecting to have a lot of these questions to be truly answered when X and Y get remakes in the future.

It’s here guys Pokemon Z is here and it’s stoked
The reason why X and Y is my least favourite gen is because it felt rushed, easy and incomplete. You could tell they wanted to make Z with the anime and all the things this added in sun/moon. It's shame gen 6 got screwed.
Who's here after the Pokemon Legends Z announcement?
Me!
I am here as well.
Im here to read the newest comments too.
They need to be done right
Who here after the announcement?
Who is here after Pokémon Day 2024?
They could've done X^2 and Y^2. That would've been funny. But the title Pokemon Z just completes it. Too bad gamefreak is greedy
You are aware that having two remake-editions is completely normal for the series, right?
And LGPE is not a yellow remake, fite meh.
I don't agree with you
I’m looking very far into the future, I know, but I’m really hoping that when the inevitable Gen 6 remakes come out, we see significant improvements to the kalos region
Man, I started playing Pokemon in ven 6, and I really wanted to see more of Kalos. I still do. It hurts to hear that there would've been another game and it just got cancelled because Game Freak is convinced for some reason that they need to hurry every game now instead of waiting and giving them the development time they need :/
Maybe in like a decade or so when they make a remake of X and Y they'll finally expand upon Kalos. I hope so
We missed out on Delta Emerald as well, the oras series is one of the best series of pokemon games out there imho
I hope they go back and revisit the Kalos region now that we have an UK and Spain region. With the new open world concept it could be one of their greatest games.
Does being STUCK in Lumiose City really count as "Open world?
I hope we eventually get a Pokémon Z in the form of Pokémon Legends Zygard or something like that. It would be sick, it could take place during the ancient war or something
Dude you’re not gonna believe this
@@Doge-zb7ku I’m so excited
I remember checking Serebii every day in 2015, waiting for the day Pokemon Z was to be announced. But that day never came.
Because GF were too keen to push ahead with Gen VII, why not finish Kalos off. Z could have been a great 20th celebration and a send off to the handheld era. Keep sun and moon for the switch and finish Kalos off
No it couldn’t
Gen 1: Yellow
Gen 2: Crystal
Gen 3: Emerald
Gen 4: Platinum
Gen 5: Black 2 & White 2
Gen 6: n/a (make it!)
Gen 7: Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon
Gen 8: Isle of Armor & Crown Tundra
I really loved Pokémon XYZ anime.
Very unlikely I know but still.
it would have to have been completed (highly unlikely) for that to happen. I still believe it would have been two games not one though.
9:30
I really think Mega-Evolutions were planned for all three starters but because X2 and Y2 got scrapped, it resulted in them rushing to fix in something comparable to a Mega Evolution for Greninja
After all, if Ash didn’t have a Mega Greninja, how would it be able to fight other Mega’s like Alan’s Charizard or Sawyer’s Sceptile
Not to mention but they couldn’t be able to give Greninja a mega in the anime solo because that would cause continuity issues and it would mean Greninja would be a mega in a generation that had added no new Mega Evolutions
No, it's pretty justified.

Who's here after the Pokemon Z announcement?
what if they intended to include mega-esque forms for the starters but since the sequel games for x and y were cancelled, they changed it to be the anime based ash-greninja
it's finally here
Honestly, Pokémon Z deserves to be a game.
I just wanna know what was supposed to be in that locked PowerPlant and ghostgirl since as a kid they always kept in the back of my head rent free.
It’s highly likely that Pokémon Z got scrapped because Nintendo wanted to release a completely new game for the 20th anniversary
This goes to show the problem isn't Game Freak being lazy, the problem is the ridiculous deadlines
After today's Pokemon Present, I think lots of people will come to see this video too as I came to see what happened to Pokemon Z
It’s a pipe dream but imagine a watered down kalos similar to gen 2 kanto focusing on zygarde being the DLC for scarlet and violet
It might seem crazy what I’m ‘bout to say.
Youre about to get a big influx of viewers my boy
I believe the word you were looking for is influx
Pokemon Legends Z is HERE
I think Zygarde's potential Z game story was the first side-game shoved into the anime.
we're so back
It really frustrates me that Gamefreak is prioritizing quantity over quality because yaaay money. Btw the story is not complete, you'll have to buy US/UM too, despite being practically the same game."
Also we don't have to talk about SP/BD, it speaks for itself.
So here’s a thought
I don’t think Calos Reserve 3 and Calos Reserve 4 were decided which they wanted to be as you can see enhanced Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon were already designated Sun 2 and Moon 2 and if they were sequels I think they would have been designated X Sequel and Y Sequel, this suggests to me that they were undecided and had to “Reserve” 2 spots in case they chose XY2 and if not that extra spot could be used for something else or discarded.
X Core and Y Core Zygarde is likely true alongside Volcanion being Pokemon Z event but I think it is possible Ash Greninja could have been from Z as well.
What you said about Serena Delphox (don’t Google it) and Clemont Chesnaught was possibly an idea but under a different name in Z [Player] Chesnaught/ Delphox/ Greninja as a way to give the Kalos starters a Mega equivalent as they did with the Hoenn starters in Omega Ruby Alpha Sapphire and that would be incorporated into the anime but they only finished Greninja since he was the main Character of the Anime’s Pokemon (and the most popular),
Likely progress was slow with the more experienced members of the team being pulled away for Sun Moon and without the vision fully decided (according to my speculation) when the team was stretched thin and something had to give it would probably only seem logical that Kalos round 2 whatever that be was that game and they then were pulled for Sun Moon and told put your Z concepts in Sun Moon.
Well, uh we mostly got what we want
When the Kalos remakes happen (Unova remakes when?), hopefully they will be what we should have gotten for Pokemon Z.
Honestly, Unova doesn't need an remake. An port or remastered is fine; with Fairy types added would be an little bit of an change. But not an actual remake. I prefer Legend: Unova or BW3 over an actual remake.
@@jaretco6423 SWEET JESUS NOT THE FAIRY TYPE!
Robert. Audino could've been an Fairy type.
Whose here after the announcement
I remember a black and white rumour/leak before it was released saying that were were 157 new Pokemon and they described one of them which fit the description for Zygarde so we could have seen him as early as that
well today we finnaly got it
Don’t look now, Kalos is back!
Are those locked areas in Lumiose? If not, they will nto be accessed in Pokemon Legends Z Minus.
Here’s an idea
What if Calos Reserve 3 and Calos Reserve 4 were enhanced X and Y (Z) and then something else like a Wii U game set on the Pokemon War (like a theoretical Legends Zygarde) Pokemon Zero
If you want to look at it like this, there is still a chance we will get Kalos in it's full intended form.
I mean think about it, we are two away from Gen 6 Remakes, so that would be the perfect time to add back in all the stuff that they were originally going to do an give Kalos the glow up it deserves.
Bdsp is actually worrying because it either removed content from platinum or made it a post game thing.
Arceus knows what will happen to gen 6.
This didn’t age so well
Nah Legends ZA is a retcon Game Freak definitely didn’t have the foresight to make a Zygarde game 10 years after XY
