Try red bean paste sometimes. It taste good I promise. I don't like sweet so neither chocolate fillings nor red bean are my things, but having red bean once in a while isn't too bad. It goes well with the dorayaki. Using chocolate will just make it taste like normal pancakes.

it’d be way harder to fill the chocolate inside because it doesn’t have that dough consistency, and you’d probably have chocolate dripping everywhere. there aren’t also any rules to to cooking (at home at least) and you could change whatever ingredient you like. but whatever floats your boat
@saleh shiplu Well, depends on your taste. I used to think Dorayaki is a chocolate pancake. I was a bit disappointed too, but when I went to buy and ate dorayaki, it was so good, not gonna lie. Red bean filling is sweet and has an awesome smell, it hightlights the flavour. The great smell of beans combined with a right amount of sweet and greasy flavour (exists in red beans) can easily attract peole's taste. Once you've ate this, even if there are chocolate ones, you might not want to taste them. The chocolate filling can make the pancake becomes sticky, and since it just has the sweet flavour, it can make you feel like you don't want to eat much, eventhough it's still good. I also ate pancake with strawberry jam before, taste delicious too, but not as good as red bean. I've never ate pancake with chocolate, and no grocery store in my country makes or sells it either, I don't know why. I think it just taste good with cake, ice cream, mousse or panna cotta, but if you want, chocolate isn't really a bad choice. Like I've said, depended on each person's taste. To me, red bean is the best choice for dorayaki filling( Well, of course, it's the original one). But it also means that you have to estimate a suitable amount of sugar, and cook red beans carefully, or the whole dorayaki will turn into a disaster.
well, I was fairly surprised by the fact that it was beans, (I didn’t really expect it to be chocolate either tbh) but I wasn’t disgusted at all. I mean, I’m South Indian and we make so many desserts out of beans and they taste amazing! beans with added sugar or jaggery can make amazing deserts :) ik it might sound a bit disgusting considering the rep of beans in the west, but I can guarantee to any person that thinks it’s bad, that beans in sweet dishes can come out really good, they’re easier to prepare than other stuff and great for amateurs too :D

it’d be way harder to fill the chocolate inside because it doesn’t have that dough consistency, and you’d probably have chocolate dripping everywhere. there aren’t also any rules to to cooking (at home at least) and you could change whatever ingredient you like.

@saleh shiplu Well, depends on your taste. I used to think Dorayaki is a chocolate pancake. I was a bit disappointed too, but when I went to buy and ate dorayaki, it was so good, not gonna lie. Red bean filling is sweet and has an awesome smell, it hightlights the flavour. The great smell of beans combined with a right amount of sweet and greasy flavour (exists in red beans) can easily attract peole's taste. Once you've ate this, even if there are chocolate ones, you might not want to taste them. The chocolate filling can make the pancake becomes sticky, and since it just has the sweet flavour, it can make you feel like you don't want to eat much, eventhough it's still good.
I also ate pancake with strawberry jam before, taste delicious too, but not as good as red bean. I've never ate pancake with chocolate, and no grocery store in my country makes or sells it either, I don't know why. I think it just taste good with cake, ice cream, mousse or panna cotta, but if you want, chocolate isn't really a bad choice. Like I've said, depended on each person's taste. To me, red bean is the best choice for dorayaki filling( Well, of course, it's the original one). But it also means that you have to estimate a suitable amount of sugar, and cook red beans carefully, or the whole dorayaki will turn into a disaster.

well, I was fairly surprised by the fact that it was beans, (I didn’t really expect it to be chocolate either tbh) but I wasn’t disgusted at all. I mean, I’m South Indian and we make so many desserts out of beans and they taste amazing! beans with added sugar or jaggery can make amazing deserts :)
ik it might sound a bit disgusting considering the rep of beans in the west, but I can guarantee to any person that thinks it’s bad, that beans in sweet dishes can come out really good, they’re easier to prepare than other stuff and great for amateurs too :D
