I grew up in London and everyone at school watched Sunset Beach and if you was off sick it was your job to watch the show and report the next day as we could not wait till the week for the omnibus. 😂 😂
I watched this show when I was 10 yo or so. I then lived in the north of Russia, in Murmansk. I was surrounded by gray houses, frost and seemingly endless night. This series was like a ray of light, a window to another world, where there is always a warm sea and beautiful people. So many pleasant memories, I was then a carefree child.

It aired on NBC from January 6, 1997 to December 31, 1999. TV2 here in Norway. I was 9 years old when it first aired, and it was the only soap I ever watched back then, other than "Passions" which I watched untill 2002. They were on every time I got home from school at about 2 pm. Good TV memories, even though I don't watch TV that much anymore.
For any 90s kids growing up in Britain, Sunset Beach used to air in a marathon on Saturday afternoons and it was our fantasy world escape from the world around us.

Was 10 years old when this aired every Saturday in the UK. My sister and I used to watch it whilst our nan was having her afternoon nap and we were OBSESSED! Happy memories and no cares in the world. Now 32 but it seems like yesterday

This tune got stuck in my mind and will stay forever. It gives me chills every time I think of Sunset Beach. It was my first soap opera and we stopped doing anything at 7 P.M. in my village in Romania to watch it. Almost all my friends in my childhood watch it and I still remember their names and real names since then.
I always wanted to visit this town only for the sake of it and nostalgia hits me hard on this one. Life never been the same after the year of 2000.

This series was so freaking strange but good at the same time. I remember a guy bound to a chair behind a mirror with his copycat livin his life. He could see through the mirror.
What i remember from this show being very young: A guy called Ben with his psycho twin brother taking over his life while being bound behind a mirror watching his brother with his wife etc.
I also remember this. My granny used to watch this show in my country. I watched it with her. I remember earthquake, some cursed gems and yes, Ben and Derek was awesome.
I remember Ben’s girlfriend finally figuring out that it was Derek and not Ben that she had slept with cos of the scar on his leg 😂😂😂

If I remember correctly, it all started with a masked individual (I remember the mask being inspired or a straight ripoff of the Scream mask) murdering folks on an island Ben had owned. Terror Island was the name of the storyline. When the killer was finally unmasked (by Mark, the one main character he actually killed), he had Ben's face. It was such a great soap opera moment. I also seem to remember there being some misdirection to make you think Ben was the one doing the killings after the unmasking.

Olivia Richards 😍 Best soap opera character ever! Lesley-Anne Down: the only reason I got hooked on Sunset Beach in the late 90s when I was a teenager 💕 Gorgeous, classy, sophisticated - you name it. Good thing they put her first in the theme too. The Richards were the best!

i miss this show so much,i wish it didn't have to end it was so popular in the 90's and a fans favourite around the world and i was a huge fan of this show in the uk,i used to watch it on Channel 5 back in 1997,those were the days when Channel 5 was really good but no US daytime soap can ever come close to Sunset Beach,a great 90's show that i truly miss so much.

The theme song is so nostalgic. I remember this was the first soap in South Africa to have an omnibus block, where you could watch all the week's episodes on Saturday afternoons. Those 2,5 hours were my happy time.
So much better than the second theme that was included in the middle of season 1

I remember this show I watched it in Africa it reminders my childhood days since I was 4 years old now I am 21 I miss this show so much and it's one of the best TV series in the world. It reminders my memories since I was a little boy. This show will be remembered forever. :)

i cant tell you how amazing it is to hear this opening after 15 years. its been playing in my head for 2 days now haha. i dont know if its the black and white but the actors look exceptionally good here. also i read below that there was an evil twin in the show and it gives me the impression (tho i am probably wrong) that sunset beach pioneered the evil twin thing and it's been copied so much since then that it turned into a cliche in today's television.

Y'all have no idea how many nightmares this show gave me when I was a child. The episodes with bloody scissors flashback from Maria's room and Vanessa hallucinating about having her mom's disease shocked me to my core.😬

Omg I loved this show.
It recently aired here in South Africa. It was the second time it was fully aired in South Africa (according to Sunset Beach's Wikipedia) and the first time I have ever watched it. I feel blessed.
I think I was in high school when this soap was aired and I remember being fascinated and amused by the fact that a man like Ben could be absolutely immune to "flashy" Annie's charms, yet so touched by less "sophisticated" Meg.
It makes me smile when I think about how I wouldn't lose a single note of the opening theme and occasionally sigh when Clive Robertson appeared... ; )
After a while, all the ridiculous twists and turns in the storyline have successfully managed to "cure" me... : ))

Watched this Show In 1998 ,when I was in Ghana. My daughter who was born on that year is now married with a child. It was a nice series, many people liked follow

My mum used to make me watch this with her. It was on Channel 5 at the weekend. Wasn't interested at first but soon got into it. Looking back the storylines were ridiculous, but I did enjoy Eddie Cibrian endlessly trying it on with Lesley-Anne Down, and vice versa.
