No Crank, No Start, and Stranded. My Old F150 Starter, Solenoid, or Battery?

- I was stranded at the supermarket in my 1993 F150. I had no crank, no start, and no idea how to fix it. I watched some youtube videos on what to do. Here is what I did and how easy it was to fix. Thanks to the youtube community which saved me from a towing and mechanic bill.

Thank you
I know it’s trivial but I never wear jewelry working on the cars it get so hot so fast gold is a great conductor just as a precaution but I think you did a great job diagnosing the issue to me that makes you very mechanical thanks for sharing
I leaned braking staff ...since 97 when I didn't have any money for mechanics.....but I'm so happy now....good job ...sir
Just came across this old friend!! Great video. I did laugh when you put the crescent wrench on the socket driver. I also don’t lay tools on a battery. To easy to go pole to pole. But it was great to see you!!!
Thanks for video, exactly same issue i had and started up with new starter solenoid
I just found this and thoroughly enjoyed watching you being mechanical! How did you stay so clean!!!!! You be amazing!!!!
I have a 91 Ford f350 and I wanna know if the starter solenoid on the firewall gets weak or worn out cause my battery to be dead overnight?
Thanks for posting! Fixed my f150 with the same problem. Great video and very helpful!
Great video. Was easy to see how to replace it. Thank you
Had the same problem today replaced the bad battery no luck started looking on RUclips and found this video problem solved. Thanks
Notice on upper right top side of Chilton Truck or Van Model...there is a PART NUMBER. Intro: SAE .etc. certified Mechanics listed 2.) 2 Sections T for Truck and U. Excellent Indexed Sections and in mine from 1976- 1986 .I own 2 Ford Rangers both 4x4 1985 and 88.same problems. However I'm saving on parts and reliable helps .So thank you and thanks for not being crankee.👏
Great I’m going to try that ! Thanks for the video!
great video thanks
Thank you you did a great job show me what I could do with my Ford fix it the same way kudos to you
That's the starter relay not solonoid.. just an fyi.. the solonoid is actually attached to the starter..
hey guy so i have and issues with my ford , the engine doesnt want to spin
You got it!
Great video keep it up
A really interesting video my friend, I'm glad that you got the F150 going again!!!! I enjoyed watching you!!! Cheers :)
Thanks. I look forward to your next post. Do you live in Scotland?
Future reference for disconnecting battery just disconnect ground and your good , no power..
If you disconnect both post on battery make sure you take off the neg. before pos. and then hooking back up do the neg. last.
Like for you my friend
Was dash all black.. no lights, noise? I’m having similar problem today. Have new battery and just had it checked... so I got solinoid to try that..
You may not be a mechanic, but think about the amount of money you saved yourself by DIY.
👍👍👍
I have the same problem I just got the solenoid tho. Also when I go to jump the solenoid it doesn’t turn over. Anyone that could help me figure out this issue ??
How did jumping the solenoid work? Just rub a metal part against it?
connect the two posts with a screwdriver, dont put your hand on the metal....if the solenoid isnt working, arcing it together will send power to the starter
Lol this old boy gets things done with that Mexicans speed wrench...
Do not, I repeat do not have rusty tools.
Thank you
