Hi babes!! I wanted to try out some drugstore (mostly elf honestly, I love elf) makeup products since I no longer work at Sephora! The only products NOT drugstore were my makeup brushes.
Products used:

READ THIS BEFORE COMMENTING: "drug store" makeup means you can buy it at a pharmacy. Ulta is awesome because not only do they sell high end products, BUT, they ALSO sell drug store makeup! wow! amazing! the reason I went to Ulta to buy the same exact products I could have purchased at Walgreens or Rite Aid is because I knew I was going to be spending a lot of money (over $100) and wanted to get my points! I also have their credit card and get cash back! The Walgreens and Rite Aid near me also don't have nearly as many cruelty-free drugstore brands all in one place to choose from; I actually explained in the video when I filmed this why I was choosing to go to Ulta given that fact, but ended up editing it out because I assumed people already knew this (my bad I guess.)
As someone who used to work at Sephora, it is common in the makeup world to use the term "drug store" to describe the brands I purchased from. It doesn't really matter where you buy it from. I could have purchased all of this online and still referred to the brands as "drug store" makeup brands.
I've responded to so many condescending comments about this from people who didn't read the description to see what I bought, who didn't actually end up watching the video, and going forward I'll just be deleting them because I don't think these people are trying to be helpful or are interested in the video, I think they're looking for a reason to be an asshole.
Next time just get a Walgreens bag before you film and be like "hi guys I bought all this at Walgreens! 🥰"
I would've assumed the same thing, like I go to Ulta and buy Nyx which I consider drugstore. You can buy Nyx at Target and maybe even Walmart now.

God thank you for not making me feel bad for matching foundation to my neck. EVERY TIME I go to Sephora they always talk me down from matching to my neck and then I end up with a foundation that's darker/more orange than the rest of my body because I have so much redness on my face. I finally ignored them (really, really difficult for me to do because I have a very "say yes" personality) and got a lighter shade and I finally don't look like a ghost with a tanned face 😩💜

@@eeriebxby yeah I would always ask if we could match to my neck and they'd be like "oh no honey you don't wanna do that" like 😩 it took me until this year to say screw it and just match to my neck and lo and behold my foundation doesn't look tanned against my pasty ass body now 😂 thank goooood lmao
The NYX Primer is for pressed pigments so is more sticky to ensure a pigment will adhere. Love this look!
I love Alien as a lipstick shade. It's such a weird black but not black color. It's great!

i use nyx, loréal, maybelline, and wet n wild all the time in my makeup routine. i use morphe brushes and pallettes for the most part but i've always wanted to see if i could find better foundation and primer products. i might have to try the ones you used in the video out :)
hi okay so i dont always do goth makeup but i do alternative looks so here are some of my recommendations for anyone reading
- the elf camo concealer in either formula is really good BUT it is important to get you correct shade + the matte formula comes in a plain white

YUP, and being born in 1970 a be a full goth by beginning of the eighties there was nothing back then lipstic was done with black eye pencil and a bit of vaseline

I love the wet n wild eye primer! It separates your foundation, so you have to use it on your clean eyelids, but GIRRRLLL it works
You should try some Essence products! The green lash princess mascara and their eyeliners (the super last waterproof or the 24ever liquid eyeliner pen) are my favourites ever and I've tried multiple drugstore and higher end products. I'm UK based so we might have different products but I'd love to see a full face of Essence :)
That essence eyeliner literally rubs off with a finger swipe for me ;(
@@uhhellooo ah I'm sad to hear it! I've swam underwater then rubbed the waterproof one and it didn't budge, the other is my daily and it doesn't move either! :( Weird how different things work on different people
I love the wet n wild eyeliner! The teeny brush is so good for the inner eye corner 🖤 you look stunning as always :)
Edit: don't ever buy the Maybelline color sensational matte black lipstick, it has no pigment, doesn't build, isn't matte, and smells like actual dust 🤢 0/10
yessss i love the essence liner too but i love the brush on the wet n wild liner more, specifically for that reason!!
First time watcher. Love the look! Super cute. That lipstick is awesome. Juvia's place has a black liquid lipstick that I am in LOVE with. It stays on for a long time.

Elf is definitely my favourite brand, and is the only company that does a shade which matches me correctly.

I've really been loving the Impossible Primer by Wet N' Wild. It gives you that "snatched" look without the silicone! And it's like... $7 a tube.
Omg lol girl... you used the nyx glitter eye primer (the one that makes glitter stick) i have it and it is used to stick glitter to your lids lol it wasn't their regular primer. Use their color pot bases instead. I hear they come close to mac paint pot. Hope this helped

I don't match my foundation to my skin. If it's a light shade of foundation I buy it. I love looking pale, so I don't care. 🤷♀️

I use the Milani eyeshadow primer everyday, have for years. It may seem a little oily when you first squeeze it out, but I kind of squeeze the tube (lid closed) to somewhat mix things up. It provides a nice, thin layer of primer on your eyes. Tinted but goes on sheer. Give a little coverage of discoloration and veins I feel, but not much. My go to eye primer for every eyeshadow formula I use.
I only use the nyx eye primer for shimmers on the lid cause it's so sticky but it does keep the shimmers in place really well 🙂
The Colourpop foundation is amazing ! I think you’ll love it

Complete side note, but you would look SO good with a black lob, slightly textured
i can definitely recommend the nyx jumbo eye pencil in black bean, and the angel veil skin perfecting primer, as well as maybelline lash sensational and colossal big shot mascaras. i used a volumizing waterproof mascara by mac before, didn't like that one as much as the mascaras by maybelline, rimmel, and covergirl

the trick to using drugstore is splurging on the items you cannot live without and just buying drugstore for everything else that doesn't make that much of a difference.

I've used Anastasia eye primer and I feel like juvia's place is very similar. It's cruelty free and it comes out a little funky but it dries down amazing and all my shadows blend out great just like with Anastasia

yessss it’s such a cool trick! i can’t remember who taught me how to do that but i used to watch makeup tutorials for cut creases because i wanted to learn, and they always put it right in their crease. it just never looked right on me!

maybelline has a purple highlighter and a white one with a pink shift. in my store it's like hidden on the bottom shelf. i wish they still had the revolution blackout palette because they definitely don't have many eyeshadow options if you're trying to be goth. wet n wild's eye primer is the one i've been using for years. also nyx actually has a black lipliner
I used to THRIVE on Alien in middle school. It’s such a unique color, really helps you get used to darker colors before trying out a true black! 🖤
Have you tried the Milani eye primer? It’s cruelty free and I think it does a good job priming the eyes.
Wet n wild breakup proof liquid eyeliner is really good

I wasn't a fan of the elf primers, but I adore the wet&wild megaglow primer. It's more liquid, but it gets along well with my skin. I still haven't found a foundation that my skin likes, though. I've gotten to the point that I've given up on foundations.

idk how much the elf mascara is, but the essence lash princess (the green one) is only $4 and it’s probably the best mascara i’ve ever used
I use that eye primer. You have to set it with a powder to make it less wet. But I actually really like it. I just set it with a light eyeshadow or translucent powder
The only serum I have seen that actually has collagen that can penetrate into the skin is Neostrata Collagen Serum (not the exact name) where the marine collagen is broken down at the molecular level. They are a physician-grade line that isn’t really sold at the cosmetic level - except in Canada (where I live), so they actually cannot make claims about anything formulated because they serve physicians and only sell in Canada where a pharmacist is on-site or in a medical facility. Oh, and they were the first to discover AHAs, PHAs, Aminofil & Neoglucosamine. There you go - a topical collagen that actually does put collagen into the skin.
If you like the wet n wild eyeliner, you may also like the nyx ink eyeliner. Those two are the best!

@@leviweinstein1111 yes, but like any liquid lipstick i stay away from heavily oily foods, i need to scrub with my micellar water to get it off or just use an oil based cleanser :D it lasts me about 10-12 hrs and smells like cookies and cream

I used to like the wet n wild liner back in the day when it was still a thin brush applicator. You should try one of the essence one if you like brush applicators and I find it stays on better for me
i have the essence one and i love it! i like the wet n wild brush a little better just because it’s easier for me to do my inner corner liner with the pointed brush
The cover girl lash exhibitionist is really good and cruelty free! Plus it’s super cheap
Cool toned contour-new elf putty bronzer! They have a great shadow shade. Milani has a great purple prismatic highlight but it’s harder to find in stores. Elf has a new music collection with a great highlight too! Again, the prismatic ones are harder to find in stores.
Nyx proof it or HD eye primers are great and so is milani!

I use "thank me later" eyelid primer and it works beautifully. After an entire day at work my eye makeup has not moved. Plus it's only $12 and the tube lasted me like 6 months. Love your videos!

And as someone on a budget because yay student loans, I totally say splurge on the Anastasia eye primer- I found it on Amazon for $10 a few months ago! Totally worth it- only need a little bit and it makes eyeshadows bright and stay put (especially if you get oily eyelids). Please do more tutorials (pastel goth? rainbow goth? Goth but make it office appropriate?) Your voice is so soothing and you explain things so well! 💕

You can get ones I think are even nicer, from Killstar called "Quin" sunglasses In black or flamingo (I got both) They are great, the pink flamingo colour esp as you can still see your makeup with them on.

Wet n Wild has some nice violet highlighter. It even has a skull shape on it! The name is Purple Ashes.
Def try HardCandy liquid liner. And their foundations are total dupes for Estee lauder double wear which lasts so long. I used to use it even tho i worked for Shiseido and could get Estee lauder anytime.
I did buy a Hard Candy pencil and liked it. Finding makeup in my town is so rough. Everything gets gone.

Someone has to have said it already, but good pale/cool toned drugstore contours are LA Girl Just Blushing Blush in 'Just Because' and NYX Sweet Cheeks blush in 'So Taupe' (there's a shimmery and a matte version of that one, the shimmery one makes a nice bronzer if you use a light hand!)

I have the white putty primer and the rose putty primer and they feel completely different. The white one feels so dry and unmanageable but the rose one is much creamier and easy to work with

I Love the wet n wild Photo focus foundation in porcelain ($6ish at Walmart) I used to have to use white foundation to make something light enough for myself but with photo focus I can just use it straight out of the bottle I use the matte but they also have a Dewey!
I’m very fair and for reference I’m 130 in Fenty Foundation. A good drugstore contour powder is the Milani one and maybelline!
The milani and the cover girl (the one in the white tube) eye primers are rly good. And for face primers I really enjoy primers from nyx, but from elf the putty primers are rly good for pores but aren't silicone based (I have the matte and og one def recommend). Ik nyx has a contour palette but idk I've never tried it. Anyways I rly enjoy ur vids 😩🙏🏻

I'm a big fan of the Wet n Wild eye primer (I'd compare it to the Urban Decay one) and their concealer, too

@@eeriebxby oh really? That’s either a very recent change or else it may be that just your local Ulta doesn’t have them? I’ve been able to find them there in the past. But either way, definitely check them out!
Ultas eyeshadow primer is my favorite and I know this isn’t makeup but I have super dry skin as well and I started using copper tone pure simple mineral sunscreen and it’s like $4 and your skin will look and feel so smooth and dewy, I also pair it with the Neutrogena hydro boost moisturizer for extra dry skin and it helps my foundation not get dry and cracked.

You should check out Wet n Wild highlighters. Super affordable and super pigmented. Go to their website not everything is available through Ulta. They have a few super white ones with blue or purple tints which I love! Think you would love them too! 🖤💜🖤

I have the same anxiety especially when out with my kids. I just want people to leave me/us alone. And that's hard to do when your kids are also adhd/autistic/anxious/hyper. I can't go into Ulta with them. My oldest want to swatch everything because my sister showed him how. 😑 I actually like a good deal of Nyx and Elf. Beauty Crop Stuck on You is a dryer primer. Nyx has a good white primer for brightening.
