I must say, I am very impressed with the students in this episode, particularly the teenagers. It is always wonderful when there is a school group involved but this group stood out to me as one of my favourites.
They where all so skilled, professional and committed to the process. I think they all should be very proud of themselves (even if this was years ago and they are adults now lol)

I attended high school in Indianapolis, Indiana (American Midwest). The property had been a Civil War arsenal and still had a building or two from then.
My g-g-grandfather had been stationed there for a short time in the 1860s. I walked on the brick sidewalks in the 1960s.
Would have loved to have Time Team do a dig there!😂😊

This school is obviously private and prob expensive af. One of the students editing the hair of a picture of Tony was doing it on a computer drawing pad. In the late 90’s! I can only imagine how expensive that was back then!

You can really pick up Phil's Irish accent out of the English accents. My grandfather was from Ireland but died before I was born. He married a Cherokee woman and had 6 kids with her. My dad was the youngest son and shortly after he turned 15, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. My grandfather loved her so much and sold he's ww2 medals to pay for her pain medicine. My grandfather was in his mid 40s when she died. He never remarried or even dated anyone else. He lived for another 42 years without her.
You have to remember he married a Cherokee woman in the 1920s. Some states still forbid any marriage between different races back then. They had to go to Kansas to get married but moved back to Oklahoma afterwards. She died before it was legal for them to be together in their home state. 😢
I am married to a man from south India. I hope to someday take him to their graves. Their courage to be together inspired me to love freely.
Wow this was not what i was originally going to comment... 😅😅😅

Phil isn't Irish 😅 He does pronounce the Rs in all postitions but this is because he's from the West Country (South-West England). People pronounce the final Rs there and pronounce the ay diphtong as oy ("side" gets pronounced as "soid") as part of their local accent.

A bishop’s throne is a “cathedra”.. the church building where it is placed is a “cathedral”. It’s usually the main church in an administrative area called a diocese, which was itself taken from the old Roman imperial system of area administrative boundaries.

Great episode, but a few small errors: Dominicans are FRIARS, not monks, and their houses are called "conventus" in Latin, or PRIORIES (not "friaries", a word used by the Franciscans.) Some of the illustrations seem to show Franciscans (in brown habits, though in medieval times they actually wore grey) rather than Dominicans, who wore white habits with black cloaks (hence their other name, "Blackfriars"), though I spotted a correctly dressed image of St Dominic on a pinboard at the final gathering.

My friend became a friar about 15 years ago. Went from being homeless and overdosing on heroine to becoming a very humble and pious man. It still surprises me when I see him.
Before he became a Franciscan friar, I thought they weren't around anymore. We're from Louisiana, USA and don't have anything like that around our area. So I never knew much about it outside films about the medieval that showed them.
