Adam's Peak, also known as Sri Pada, is a prominent mountain in Sri Lanka renowned for its conical shape and religious significance. Standing at 2,243 meters (7,359 feet), it is a sacred pilgrimage site for Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, and Christians. The mountain is famed for the Sri Pada, or "sacred footprint," at its summit, believed to be the footprint of the Buddha, Shiva, Adam, or St. Thomas, depending on the religious tradition. The pilgrimage season runs from December to May, attracting thousands who climb the steep trail to witness the breathtaking sunrise and offer prayers.
