@MoniquaWilliams if something is harder than the Tooth. It can wear it down. Most dogs don't get them enough for it to be a problem but if the root were exposed it could lead to infection - which can just be an expensive vet bill.
As a vet I can tell you that it’s not a worry unless your dog has a lot of stress or lack of options in his toys to the point he begins over chewing. Gum strength/health as matters in this case, most people forget about them but it’s also important that it’s strong. Chipping, root exposure, and shortened teeth is due to a disease, poor health/diet, age, or poor care. Basically nothing to worry about as long as your dog is well taken care of and not like the majority of neglected dogs.
@@MoniquaWilliams It’s job really is just to be chewed but these are also recommended to get rid of filing on dogs that don’t like their teeth brushed or are too aggressive to brush. I personally don’t like long lasting ones because they get FILTHY, and washing doesn’t help much. After a day they can easily become unsafe, or if it’s only for indoors they last max a week, and typically a couple days from what I’ve seen and been told they just get too nasty to be used.
Healthy teeth can chip too. I've seen far too many people with Healthy teeth, who overestimated the strength of their teeth and chipped it. Just cuz your dog doesn't have "rotting teeth", doesn't mean it won't chip if it bites at something wrong.
My dogs have perfect healthy teeth at 4 years old. My vet said to never let them chew on anything you cannot dent with your natural finger nail. Hard things are no better for a dogs teeth than ours. They have stronger jaws than us, not teeth.
I do not own a dog so i am in no way an expert nor do i claim to be. But arent dogs known to chew on cow bones to get the marrow out and so on, and i dont think i can dent all sticks, and i defenitly cant dent a bone
This. They're not superdogs, they're still just as susceptible to getting sick and injured. It's like when people make a fuss about a dog wearing a vest in cold winter. Dude, I'm cold and I sure as hell know he is cold, he needs a vest. Unless it's a specific, cold-weather breed, dogs need protection from the cold, from hot pavement, from wind...
@@madsjakobsen9824Bones, the fresh ones that you give dogs, usually have a lot of moisture in and are designed to be a bit flexible. This makes them easier to chew, but dogs can still chip their teeth on them, they can also wear their teeth down over time. Yak chews don't have moisture in them, unless it has time for a dog's slobber to absorb into it I suppose. But some dogs won't wait for it to soften, some dog's chew harder than others too and they will be more at risk. Vets advise not to have dogs chews like antlers (yes, antlers are harder to chew than a fresh marrow bone) or yak chews as they have seen for themselves enough dogs that have broken their teeth on them for the vets to recognise it as a recurring problem and to give advice. "If you can't scratch it with your fingernail, do not give it to your dog." It's simple advice that if everyone followed, there would be less dogs with broken teeth. As an owner, it is your choice what risks to take when raising a dog, and it does well to recognise them even if you choose to take them. It's just general health and safety really. It’s made of yak cheese and then dried over a smoky fire as they do in Mongolia. With these you really do need to be careful as they can break off into shards and if it’s small enough it can become lodged in your dogs throat. When it becomes small enough we then soak it in hot water for 5+ min. Then pat dry and place in microwave for 30 sec-2 min (depending on size) and puffs up into a super crunchy cheese curl. We let it cool for 30+ min and it’s a very crunchy tasty treat for your dog on one of those super long very cold winter days when they’re super bored. Be careful though as it is cheese and high calorie. Our dog had to go on a diet because she had one every few days and didn’t alter her daily food amount so she essentially was getting twice as much calories as she needed!

Doggo is like
"Stop talking and give me my treat " 😂😂❤❤
Doggo "So we are testing my patience today"
What a beautiful lovely doggo 🥰❤️
*Well, they are meant to be rock solid like that, so that they'd last long and that the dog would keep on chewing on it for quite the long time and enjoy it..* 🤗
Dog:"Just give me that yummy thing please 🥺" in the background 😂😂
I love how they both have the same eye colour
I have been giving these to my dog for a while too! With him, no treats last for a while except these! And he absolutely loves the crunchy puffy cheese puffs that we make after he eats most of the stick. 10/10 would recommend!
Aww your dog is so pretty and cuteee! His little stretch at the beginning is heart melting/ Adorable!!🩷🩷🩷Thank you for this info btw! Have an good day.😊
My Dog loves them too❤
Dogs can’t have salt and messes with their kidneys
😮😢😢❤
Can't believe I had to look so long for this comment 😢 dogs should not be having added salt
Dogs are like humans: you eat something hard and you could possibly chip a tooth. Your teeth don’t have to be “rotting” to chip. 😂
For gentle dogs they last ages but for pitbulls bull mastiffs and mastadors it will last 3 seconds then its gone ❤
Was thinking the same thing lol my two pits go through a knuckle done in like 30 mins 🤦🏽♀️
My one year old staffie, goes through these like they are nothing 😂
Yeah, I have a 120lbs Dogo Argentino, he goes through a "jumbo" in 10 minutes 😂 He shatters beef shanks, this is no challenge for him.
They don’t, I know from experience. Took my dog 15 min
I honestly cant find a bone that last long for my dog, she is a tibetan mastiff/ovtjarka.
That’s called churpi. It’s made in Nepal and northeastern part of India like Sikkim. We eat this all the time here 🪄
Can you pls show how you train you dog
how you take care of your dog gives you 10,000 aura, how you talk abt it to others is -10,000 aura
The buffalo cheek rolls last even longer 😊 My dogs love both!
Yes we love those too! Those are also cheaper
Why do they look so good tho like it looks like a flipping bar of a caramel toffee 💀💀😭😭
The dog be like: hey lady r u done with the talking, can i have it now
It is called Churpi in North East India. It's a very common snack for people here.
My dog uses this she LOVES THESE
My dog still goes through those in 20 minutes 😭
This is the reason why these chews in our areas are expensive...... This meant for us😢😢😢
My dog loves them 😊
