Congratulations on the repair 😊 I highly recommend that you get the capacitors replaced on the main board and sub board asap especially on the main board those surface mount cap's leak and will end up destroying traces and pads Under them I've recapped all my model 1's I own 9 believe it or not 😊 just look up console recapping someone can do it for you if you're not good with soldering

Thanks @seganutt will they still leak if not used? I definitely will need to get it done at some point. It's such a great bit of technology I need to look after it.

Also when you replaced the face did put little tabs between the shielding and the plastic bottom seems ? Seems like it's up a bit high the reason the tray is hitting when going back in or you didn't push the tray front panel down enough

Yes they will mega CD model 1's are prone to leaking cap's on the main board especially if you remove the shielding you will probably see green muck around the caps every mega CD model 1 I've worked on has had leaking cap's on the main board, the sub board -power board uses though hole cap's they don't normally leak but can as well , you should try to find someone to recap it asap these model 1's are getting quite expensive nowadays and very sort after, I would love to recap it for you, but I'm all the way over in Australia you sound like your in the UK good luck 🤞 with it friend ☺️
