@@e7thstar he doesn't talk about the "on beat" situation, he's saying that the rhythm parts are the same style as what the shredder or the rhythm player would've played underneath the solo if it was on any of their record
All of these were really spot on. God I love michael schenker's playing so much that it makes me appreciate the licks you played to imitates him because it's instantly recognizable.
My first concert EVER (ca. 1980)! MSG as backup band, kicked the shit out of a band I'm too embarrassed to mention anymore. The "meat in the sandwich" between two stale buns. I'm talking bread here. Loaf =P
Dave's great, but Adrian's always had my heart, something about his playing was so important just listening before taking up guitar myself, mostly that awesome trem vibrato, made it sound like proper bending vibrato...even now I can't do that trem shit but my bending vibrato is decent
Buckethead being overlooked amongst 30 shredders is asisine.. Absolutely no excuse for not being able to make some effort in learning how to play some of his signature style, although to be fair I do understand that it's not easy to basically re-learn an instrument you're obviously quite adept at.. His distinctive licks are atonal and require you to purposefully abandon harmony and trade for extremely dissonant groupings of notes and that, per se, is the exactly what you train your ears, hands, and mind to avoid (for the most part, realistically) and therefore its not as if it just easily comes pouring out of the fingers onto the fretboard intuitively, right? You must rethink the relationship between the notes you're mixing up in lightspeed often 8 at a time, all of them dissonant from each other YET somehow strangely coalescing into a vaguely familiar melody with the riff underneath that swarming pissed off hornets nest of notes, and the overall effect is regularly described as "robotic" or computer effect sounds, and any number of other failures to truly encapsulate into words the ineffable cacophony of notes punctuating the mix of instruments whenever Buck goes into his distinctive atonal / dissonant robot shred aka noodling? I believe it's been labeled officially? Pretty sure everyone has agreed to adorn his distinguished from the pack style of shredding with the title of "noodling" however I'm not certain so.. Yeah don't take my word for it - just put "Buckethead noodling" in the search bar and hit enter and then prepare your anus because you're about to be prolapsed by the sickest badass shredder alive and his tempo, accuracy, punctuation, attack, flair, pure mastering of the instrument will melt your face into a puddle of muck, likely ending up next to the puddle of your prolapsed anus since you more often than not will be stuck in the same spot while you're being vaporized by the greatest shredder alive at the moment.. .. But yeah, let's not include him on the list of shredders easily imitable because that would be kinda funny to cringe at, as you fail it - it being condensing Buckethead's unmistakable atonal noodling down to an easily imitable passage for inclusion in a RUclips video.. So not even mad atcha! Lol I understand why you can't include him 👍🏻
@@88_TROUBLE_88 I completely get your point. But Buckethead is an anomaly that most people don't understand. Even though we both agree his phenomenal, it's not for everyone's ears. Incredible you nailed it! Captured the feel of each guitarist using their signature licks but you created original melodies as well and put your own spin on it. Definitely taking notes on this video. Great work!
People say that all the time about Kirk. It may be true of his later stuff, but the majority of his best solos, Blackened, Unforgiven, Master of Puppets, both solos on Fade to Black, and all three solos in One, don’t feature a wah.
Dude!!!!!!! I never comment on videos but had to on this one. From one musician to another, this is the coolest video I have seen to date!! Simply amazing!! 🙌🏻 we’re not worthy!!!
Absolutely great job!!!. Dude, this must have taken some serious time...👍👍👍👍👍.Thought the backing was a tad bit too loud in some of the beginning stuff, but soooooo well done and please add John Sykes, Nuno, Dann Huff and Vivian Campbell. like your other great choices, All these guys had such distinct sounds, you knew it was them.
Great job Man🎸. it would be cool if you made yourself a video of guitar players (Riffs or solo) from the 70s. Hendrix, Clapton, Back, Page, Blackmore, Gallagher, Kossoff, Iommi, Gilmour, Bolin, Moore, Alvin Lee, Santana, Andrew Latimer, Allman, Mayall, SRV, Zappa, Jan Akkerman, Joe Walsh, Townshend, Lifeson, Steve Howe, Schenker, McLaughlin, Peter Green, Johnny Winter, Martin Barre, Robert Fripp, Frehley, Mick Box, Knopfler... 🤘🏻👍🏻😉🎸
I loved this video! You are a monster of a guitar player! Im glad you did not forget Jason Becker, Andy LaRoque and Chuck Schuldiner! Is that a korean Jackson PS2 Performer? Cheers from Portugal 🍺🤘🇵🇹
Why can't I play like this!?! Oh yeah. 150,00 hours of lessons and grueling practice sessions. =) Great stuff, man! The fretwork is fun to watch, but your right-hand speed-picking is phenomenal.
Just saw this for the first time. Awesome! Represents so much hard work. I doubt there are many people out there that would/could step forward and play this near as well.
Bravo sir. Could you encore with your playing. To master the Masters is no small feat. Inspires me to plow through my ability to suck at guitar and one-day find my riff and my shred.
The Jason Becker one is just perfect 3:35
because all of his songs are masterpieces
agreed, it brought a smile to my face
Jason becker should be worshiped
I thought so, too, as well as Satriani.
Easily my favourite part
Those Dimebag 7 secods were amazingly accurate
What I find impressive: ignore the solos and listen to the rythym parts; they are dead on, too.
that's because it's a backing track.
What he's saying is that the backing parts match what the guitarists would have written underneath the solo too
@@patandmacmusic and what je means is that it's a generic backing track, so of course it would be on beat

Shreders aren't so similar and lifeless after all. You've got a like for featuring Chuck Shuldiner :3
Marty would like a talk
Agreed
And one for Dime
One for MAB. 🔥
And the mighty Dave Murray
This whole string is pretty killer especially if you know everyone’s style. He pretty much nailed them all, very impressive and fun!
Loved the Satch followed by Vai, they complimented each other well.
I put some honorable mentions:
nuno bettencourt, mark Tremonti, and Guthrie Govan.
Sinister Gates.
Buckethead!!!
TREMONTI!
John Sykes, Nuno, Dann Huff and Tony Mcalpine.
Criss Oliva!
0:21 Washington is next Megadeth's riff
Great ear!
"Dave Mustaine's riffs were better than many other people's solos" - Scott Ian

But can you name the song that the Murray part was based on?

Yes!!!!
Finally a buckethead mention

There will be no next one. The maker of this video stole the footage from a website called gmcguitar 8 years ago.
And Guthrie Govan

The Megadeth ones were perfect!
Love how the atmosphere changes when Schenker comes in. My favorites are Murray Yngwie Poland Mustaine Schenker
Coming back to this video year by year, and getting goosebumps every time.
All those styles make for the best solo ever. Great playing GMC.
came here again to see how perfect the dime and zakk impressions was on point but stayed because the others was perfect too
Zakk? Lmao...he's the worst "shredder " Alive. So bad they almost cast him for the live action tmnt reboot
That Randy solo was sick man. You nailed them all
Dude, you are INSANELY GOOD!! This video is a masterpiece!
Very interesting ! Useful to understand the different styles and technical skills of the famous shredders. Well done !
both dimebag and zakk wylde rhythm and solos was on point, great job
that dimebag section was Fucking amazing
Mind blowing. Really had the feel of each player's brilliance. Loved all of them The Randy Rhoads was spot on.
You included Vinnie Moore and Greg Howe! Thumbs up for this!
You nailed the Slash, Joe Satriani, Chuck Schuldiner, Dave Mustaine and Jason Becker solos type
Kirk's solo without wah is just so wrong

That was before Black Album solo
i actually found his kirk hammett impression very good because he plays the best thing plays/can play and ofc he‘s not abusing the wah 😂
And Zakk’s as well

That is absolutely incredible and so accurate!!!
This is straight up some amazing playing.
Great stuff! Love the Schenker especially!
I'm sorry but the Chris Poland one blows all of them away
glad I read the comments before saying the exact same thing - nice to see Mr Poland getting some love
I actually thought it sounded more like Jeff Young
Poland is just in another level
These kind of comparsion and statements are so dumb. Stop it. Music is not a competition.

Thats just fantastic. All I can think after it is, Tony MacAlpine, Vito Bratta and Gary Moore need ra rep 🎸 Rock on
A true master of the guitar to have nailed all of those guitarists' styles!!!!! 💯👍
0:32 to 0:48 Satriani - Vai soloing type definitively my favorite, nailed fantastic.
Very nice playing man! You nailed it all! :)
Beautiful tribute to Sammy. Sorry for your loss, Benny.
Dude your chops are killer. Great job!!!
Love how you put Dave then kirk
amazing, you really play! not like most of youtubers that suddenly make a lot of product reviews that nobody cares.
The john petrucci one gives me scenes/train of thought vibes
Excellent job, folk. Thanks
awesome playing, riffs and tones
... I can barely play my own style!... Lol..... You are awesome, Brother!...

Jesus !!! And I thought I was improving because I just nailed the intro to SMOKE ON THE WATER ! You’ve gotta be kidding me !
Fantástico. El único que no me pareció sonar igual fue Greg Howe, los demás increíbles! Respect!
The Zakk solo needs more wah and squelies!

Mustane's solo made me laugh
I like Jason Becker technique,,
This reminds me of that time when l learned and mastered the guitar in just two weeks, back in the early part of 1986.
Peace Sells, Master of Puppets, and Reign in Blood immediately make you a badass on guitar. '86 was a hell of a year.
