Call it a stretch, but I like to imagine this song wasn’t just teaching them about other jobs. The briefcase was also teaching them THEIR job, albeit extremely poorly. And their job is to go through these lessons, over and over, all the way through. He leaves them at the bits and parts factory right in the middle of the song, not finishing it. That’s both to show them what it’s like to have a job, but it’s also the “problem” that needs to be solved. While the trio is doing this job the briefcase set for them, they are ignoring their ACTUAL “job” that was going through the lessons themselves. They have to finish the song to do their job. And at the end of it all when the “workplace accident” happens, who finds the briefcase and gets the song going again? Duck. Both of the others got lost in the job set out for them, and Duck managed to finish up their REAL job and get them all out of that weird factory nightmare. Who gets given a coin at the end of the episode for doing his job? Duck, but he barely did anything right in the factory. Because that’s not the job the briefcase was referring to; Duck didn’t succumb to the job distracting them from the lesson, and therefore he was rewarded for finishing the lesson. Albeit, he was rewarded with a coin in the eye…but rewarded nonetheless. There’s also something to be said about how Duck is the one to summon the briefcase in the first place by wanting something to do on Nothing Day, effectively starting the lesson up in the first place. That probably gave him some brownie points since the lessons are what’s important here. I’m not saying this is a theory or anything, there’s a lot of other stuff that’s actually lore-related that doesn’t go into this at all. I want to add to this. Red Guy in the beginning of the episode didn't wanted to do anything but then in the factory he got a job ....in which all he did was sitting in the office and yelling at people but still, that's a job i guess. His lesson was to... Well, start doing something. That lesson might have inspired/motivated him to do something and escape from hell in episode 5. Meanwhile Yellow Guy didn't really learn anything. Nothing specific at least. I could argue that he was being prepared for a loss of someone by making him lose a wife, child and his arm.

Heck, it’s a really interesting thing to note that in the whole TV series, we see Red Guy actually get up and do things much more often than in the web series. He has a lot more motivation now than he did before, especially in Family and Transport. It’s safe to assume the fact that what you’re talking about sort of acted as the turning point that gave Red Guy that motivation overall, not just in Episode 5
I like how this song seems like classic DHMIS and then pulls a whammy and surprises us with the whole factory plot, before continuing the song after 20 minutes. Its quite the way to introduce us back into the new world of DHMIS

I always think that a job should be respected regardless because we're all trying to survive out here. If you enjoy working in a factory or as a paramedic and it's sustainable then that's great
Let's not forget that those "high profile" jobs are also pretty stressful and soul-sucking. You'd be surprised the amount of people who traded their high stress high paying job for something lesser for their own sanity.
And then after you "do well in school" an employer doesn't want to employ you because despite your high degree you lack "professional experience" in that specific job since you went to college instead of studying for that job. Well, at least that's how it sometimes is in my country

Headcanon SPOILERS AHEAD Briefcase was actually the Reaper, or rather A reaper trying to take Yellow Guy's/David's soul, however as seen by the blackout parts in "Electricity" Lesley seems to have control over the puppets even the ones in the web series (As shown by Lamb Chop never appearing in the series prior to his scene chasing the students) Briefcase is actually part of the Council and sent to take Yellow guy's life, however the Council seens to be aware of what Lesley is captable thus sent him in the disguise of a teacher to sing a bogus song about jobs, as soon as he reaches PASAFB&PL he notes this is the place where he is sent the most due to their accident encouragement, so he set the puppets there, leaving them to get a job, get a life outside the house and eventually die of old age, however Duck Guy, possibly under Lesley's influence messed the plan so he set the shredding of Yellow's hand as a last ditch attempt, when Duck opened the First Aid Kit he realized he was caught, so to save grace he sent them back home, Lesley was not amused and sent Briefcase to...wherever the hell the blackout scene was set, stuck in a limbo where the others that tried to take David have failed, however, the Council was impressed so Briefcase gave them a coin for their good "play", The Council is beyond those stairs, and she knows it, and she is never letting them take away his son of her, even if she has done for so long she doesn't see him as his real son, because she have only him and puppets, three of them

im wondering if briefcase leaves when he says (or you can be the guys who work as a team in the workplace) they actually have not worked as a team at that point (when he is saying it they are just dancing) . in the other jobs they are actively working . so he ended up waiting 40 years for them to work as a team in the workplace (before red was being a boss , yellow was working but not with the others and duck was not getting along with them) . teamwork only really happened whne yellow had his hand cut and they tried to work as a team to help him

SPOILERS AHEAD
Briefcase was actually the Reaper, or rather A reaper trying to take Yellow Guy's/David's soul, however as seen by the blackout parts in "Electricity" Lesley seems to have control over the puppets even the ones in the web series (As shown by Lamb Chop never appearing in the series prior to his scene chasing the students) Briefcase is actually part of the Council and sent to take Yellow guy's life, however the Council seens to be aware of what Lesley is captable thus sent him in the disguise of a teacher to sing a bogus song about jobs, as soon as he reaches PASAFB&PL he notes this is the place where he is sent the most due to their accident encouragement, so he set the puppets there, leaving them to get a job, get a life outside the house and eventually die of old age, however Duck Guy, possibly under Lesley's influence messed the plan so he set the shredding of Yellow's hand as a last ditch attempt, when Duck opened the First Aid Kit he realized he was caught, so to save grace he sent them back home, Lesley was not amused and sent Briefcase to...wherever the hell the blackout scene was set, stuck in a limbo where the others that tried to take David have failed, however, the Council was impressed so Briefcase gave them a coin for their good "play", The Council is beyond those stairs, and she knows it, and she is never letting them take away his son of her, even if she has done for so long she doesn't see him as his real son, because she have only him and puppets, three of them

This is what I’m thinking about, this song lasted 40 years, although in theory it should be interrupted at the end of the day. The events of all episodes take place during the day. Perhaps, so that the day does not reboot, the trio needs an endless song.
