I have just bought a 2013 Honda NSC50R and it’s slow slow I’m literally getting 12mph uphill will the variator give me a lot more speed or do I need the ecu too?
That’s really slow even by nsc50 standards. Sounds like maybe your CVT system isn’t changing down ratios properly to get up the hill. The polini or malossi variators make a big difference , I’d definitely recommend getting one
@@groundkilla7325 the variator could fix it - it could be as simple as rollers needing replaced. If they don’t move properly the variator won’t move up and down ratios properly.
I put in the malossi multivar kit with the rollers that came with and my rpm's sound like they're maxing out when k give it gas but its fine at higher speeds plus it didn't increase my top speed idk what i did wrong.
What weight rollers did you get with the kit ? What you want to aim for is a roller that gives you the same rpm throughout all acceleration. If the revs are high at low rpm and you don’t seem to accelerate much then the rollers are too light. If the revs stay low at low speeds and only pick up as you reach higher speeds they are too heavy.
It gets replaced with one that changes how the drive belt can move to give you over 28mph and better acceleration. They are made by companies called Malossi and Polini.
hello how are you i want to ask a question if you answer me i have a honda nsc 50r i have no vision and can i decide ecu and honda vision 110cc and how many km per hour goes if i decide ecu 110cc i have malosi variator max speed with varitaor 60km
Does this work for 2014 models of the nsc50r? great little scooter but speed is a huge problem almost unsafe how slow it is especially pulling out of junctions etc. They say 28mph but that is a very small promise. This is literally on 100% flat ground or downhill. any slight gradient and the speed drops dramatically. Ive still had it for about 9 months now but still find it a huge problem when cars are almost clipping me where theyre all overtaking becuase theyre impatient
Yes it works for all nsc50 models. Have you serviced it recently , shouldn’t be quite that slow pulling out that it’s unsafe. Maybe needs a new air filter and spark plug ? Does it have a lot of miles on it ? Could be low compression due to wear and tear. Get a polini or malossi variator fitted , it makes the biggest difference.
nitrorory not recently no pal. ive just got it cos itll be a while before i can take my main test now cos this strange new world we live in. I reckon itll be worth getting it done. I appreciate they’re restricted but it takes long getting out of junctions even on full throttle hahaha

On mine the polini variator got it to 36mph maybe a little more. Did you use the weights that came with the kit ? I can’t think why the new derestricted variator wouldn’t go past 29, never heard of that
I did use the weights supplied but not the big spring for the rear variator as it stated in the instructions only use on a ( Yamaha mbk ) and the rear standard spring is very strong as to the polini one being very weak. Also didn’t use the rear shoe springs as seems unnecessary. Maybe I should use the large rear variator spring ?
@@darren.hilldrup mine never said anything about the spring only to be used for a Yamaha. Something very strange there. Does the packaging definitely say it’s for the nsc50?
Hi Rory appreciate your help, the kit came from euro scooter parts and says for NSC50R and NSC vision 2012- on so mine is a 2017 . On page 4 of the fitting instructions 241.301 it states “ for Yamaha mbk only , for this special viariator we suggest replacing the original clutch spring with the polini one included in the kit” Perhaps the rear clutch needs the blue polini spring fitting and the yellow shoe springs as well ?
It doesn’t really give you any more top speed it can just help with acceleration a bit as it lets the engine rev 1000rpm higher. The biggest difference is with the variator.

You gotta try different weights for where you live. If you have a lot of hills in your town like me you want slightly lighter ones to encourage vario to move down gearing. If you are in flatter place they can be a little heavier. I ended up with 6.5g
@@nitrorory just ordered it! Wanted to be sure i got the right one. I really love my honda scooter and i am so excited to give it even more love. Thanks!!
Justin Wong It’s not a massive difference but the spring that comes with the malossi kit does help keep the revs where they need to be a bit. It’s only slightly stiffer than stock. I’ve found going any stiffer than that one is pretty pointless and causes weird performance issues
I changed the variator to malossi and changed the spring too but it didnt increase anything on the bike so its rly up to you if you want to do the extra work for nothing
The variator definitely works , as for the ecu I think the nsc50r actually has a higher Rev limit anyway so you wouldn’t see a benefit - you might want to Google about the ecu to find out. Sure I read that somewhere
@@nitrorory would I need a torque gun for the variator upgrade? I'd like to derestrict it as cheap as possible. What weight are your rollers ? Maybe they are too light ?
Samuel Scaleb We do get the 110cc model here in uk but the one in the video I have is a 50cc and they need all the extra speed we can find 😂😂👍🏻
Samuel Scaleb The nsc50 is fine for around towns and cities, when derestricted can do 40mph / 60kmh - just not uphill lol.
Would just putting the nsc 110 ecu only do anything or do I need the malosi and the ecu. Please continue the videos. Excellent. Maybe a bit more explanation and a tripod cam. Adjust for each shot but loved it
Hallo Böcki. Have I been banned from the Innova Forum???
I don't understand, it's under 50 cc and restricted for being too powerful?? Why?

@@elephantsmemory3142 that is just mental!! In most countries you can ride anything up to 125 cc with a car licence.

I don’t know , I’ve never had anyone on the back so I don’t really know how much strain it puts on it. Honda do make the seat big enough for 2 so I guess it’s designed to do that.

@@nitrorory how would I go about fixing the cvt would the variator fix that or is there another fix?

I have the variator done and get about 38-39 on the flat would it be worth getting the ecu the what’s the downhill top speed etc
