Jake has, and always had, one of the best minds in the business, barr none.
Plus his style was always believable, his psychology was unreal, and he was mesmerizing to watch. One of the best to never hold a world title, without a shadow of a doubt.
It's too bad that he couldn't keep himself clean. Who knows how far he could have gone?
Jake "The Snake" Roberts for HOF 2014!

he went as far as he could ... he was too crude to get to the top... and too old to be a top star in attitude era
so he was forever stuck in mediocrity...

Sounds like Raven. They both have great minds but unfortunately, their drug problems didn't allow them to be writers. :(

Jake. Thank you for the professionalism, the years of fabulous story lines and the snake! I agree with you about the state of wrestling today. Mostly, I want to say, many of us have had our hard times. Love to see you bounce back and into yoga and helping people. Thanks Jake.

His legacy is in tact. One of the top 10 overall wrestlers, top 10 talkers, a top 5 heal and a top 5 finishing move. Was delighted to hear he's getting his WWE hall of fame induction.

great interview Jake has always been honest upfront with his struggles .And has more knowledge which he learned the hard way .But his passion and desire will always be the path he choices .Sometimes bad sometimes good .But he is and will be one of the greatest in the wrestling world. love you Jake and so proud of all the challenges that you have faced and overcome. But you take nothing for granted. You lived what you lived through so much of what you speak of. and always back what you say .

"When you're being abused, you learn how to lie real quick. You learn how to address a situation and know what you have to become to be safe." Sometimes I wonder if Jake got in the wrong profession... Such a great therapeutic activity for Jake to shed the truth about his dark past with complete honesty. I'm sure Mat Men and Jake mutually benefited from a great interview.

I say give this man a final moment in WWE. I've followed his journey since it began and I am a user of DDP Yoga because of how it's helped Jake, Scott Hall and Arthur Boorman. Could you imagine the incredible crowd pop Jake would get if he comes down the aisle during the Rumble? Even better if DDP would escort him too? Man, that would be awesome and IT WILL up the PPV buyrates big-time.

It's been 18 years since Roberts last eliminated a guy from the Rumble. No matter how many times I do the math, that seems impossible.
But Roberts in 2014 seems perfectly obvious. Hell, bring back Godwinn, too. They can settle their score.

Given there are several valid reasons why WCW or WWE rose and or fell during the Monday Night Wars, in my opinion, it's probably best and fair to all to say it was ultimately a fluke which has now run it's course. I don't want to watch TNA, WWE, or ROH no matter whom comes back; prowrestling is not nor probably ever will be the same.

I agree, no one likes a monopoly except the people controlling it. TBH - I haven't watched any wrestling since the late 90s. All I was saying is the WCW was not managed very well if they're losing dozens of millions per year, with better ratings from 96 to 98. When I looked at WCW I saw a bunch of old timers, ex-WWE. The NWO was exactly that, bunch of washed up WWE legends and that was their best story and gimmick. WCW started with WWF legends, then WWE stole their new talent, I agree there.

  • @ChromeFamily

Jake should call TNA... I hear they are in need of some creative ideas, if he's serious about doing this, and feels that WWE isn't his pace, maybe TNA would be?

Right? And in the extremely unlikely event WWE, because Linda is bucking for another veiled Senate run, were to bring back DX and NWO, I probably wouldn't be compelled to watch it then. Things have changed and people, in and out of the business, have moved on.

But where did all the leftovers from WWE go, when they were washed up? The WCW was mostly ex-WWE stars like Hulk Hogan who made $700 000 per pay-per-view, who wouldn't? In 1996 the WCW was loosing between 12 to 17 million dollars a year and lost 60 million in 2000, that's minor league in my opinion, there's obviously no viewers. By the time Hulk and Macho were hired, most of us were sick of them already. They had WWE's ex-writter Vince Russo too, so it's like a leftover WWE legends Co.

Every single match? of five years worth of PPVs and TV shows? As well as all the subsequent 14 years worth of programming too? I suppose you also watched all the pre-attitude era NWA and NJPW stuff too, just so you could make sure your opinion was well rounded.

and in those 20 minutes all they did was talk right? LOL!!! it's a new generation of fans and they're not really wrestling fans...every now and then while channel surfing i see they have a show called divas, with the female wrestlers.. and they are more of playmates then wrestlers..Mola, Wendy Richtor, Sherry Martel etc...those were female wrestlers..it's a new generation now
