- ON THE THIRD EPISODE OF EPIC HORROR THEATRE, we bring to you part 1 of the eponymous tale, "The Shadow Over Innsmouth", written by the legendary O.G. of horror H.P. Lovecraft in late 1931 and once again adapted to audio by the Atlanta Theater Radio Company. In tonight's tale, we follow a youth on his coming-of-age tour through New England, where on his antiquarian adventures, he hears stories of a little town in Massachusetts clouded with rumors of pirate treasure, vicious plagues, and its strange-looking furtive people. The truth, however, is more personal and much more horrifying than our narrator could dare to fear it could possibly be...
This shit is so fucking scary, it'll make you feel safe walking the streets of the most ghetto areas of Detroit! You'll understand what I mean when you hear the story.
Uploader's Noteage: My apologies for my tardiness in installing our next horrifying tale; I had to go to the hospital and have only in the past week recovered enough to be able to start uploading stuffs again. So as an apology I'm uploading this channel's first two-parter! Expect part 2 to be uploaded later tonight. Peace out, girl scouts!
This radio play was my introduction to HPL when I was 14. Thanks so much for posting it! I feel flooded with nostalgia :)
Oh thank god this one is here, this version is the best I've ever heard, especially the narrator who sounds almost exactly like Donald Sutherland.
I legit thought it was him. Very convincing.
It was Donald Sutherland
Sonald Dotherland in the flesh!!!
Me too!
I immediately thought it was Donald Sutherland but I can't find cast information anywhere
Best interpretation of my fave Lovecraft book
We really need your Pickman's Model production back up!
All i can say is..... AWESOME
This is amazing! I'm glad I did a search for "Lovecraft radio drama." Impressive production!
Great to hear Innsmouth pronounced properly in an American production.
I had this on cassette as a kid! I loved every moment of this! I haven't heard it in years, the BBC 4 version is pretty good as well, but this is classic radio drama! better than a movie!
Can’t believe the other got taken down, thank you!
I love this version let me tell ya....
This is amazing, thank you for posting. Liked and subscribed.
Apparently, Pepperidge Farms remembered.
"Lemme tell ya"
No one can tell me that ISN'T Donald Sutherland.
if you like dramatized Lovecraft you should check out Horrbabble and Rue Morgue do the dramatized Dunwich Horror🤓
I live in MA. 30min north of Boston. And have always lived in NewEngland. Why do these voice actors sound like folks from Maine. Sandford, Maine. Check out 'Down East Dickering' fron History channel. We here outside Boston dont sound like that....do we? Idk. But good play though. I grew up in Chelmsford, MA. Founded 1633. Has second oldest graveyard in New England next to Salem, MA
Decent. Doesn't hold a candle to the Dark Adventure Radio Theatre version though.
There isn't one. The download on their website is pretty reasonable though.
