Great video!! Can you upload a video explaining how to add a housing around the PCM and around the cell as well? why didn't you make it a heat flux instead of constant wall tempreture. Thanks
@@FrontiersInCFD Take 3 pcm packed circularly from cell That 3 pcm should be different in melting point where the pcm which packed after cell is pcm1 and next pcm packed circularly with pcm is pcm2 and next packed circularly around pcm2 is pcm3. Pcm1 has low melting point then others, pcm2 should have low melting point then pcm3 and pcm should have high melting point
I tried to do the same steps as you, I got unrealistic results. The liquid fraction wasn't increasing instead it varied with time . any idea what I did wrong?
Last thing I tried now is to turn off the gravity, and all of a sudden the Continue and the XYZ momentum aren't being solved and showin 0 residuals. But the contours are showing the right behavior also the Liquid fraction is increasing steadily like the video.
Following is one of example. You can take one gravity value only. Title : Numerical study and optimization of battery thermal management systems (BTMS) Based on Fin-Phase change material (PCM) in variable gravity environments
This was done for thermal analysis only. How heat will be carried away by working fluid/pcm These model you specified involves chemistry of battery also..
Thank you for the informative video. Can you do a video for pcm based for multiple battery group?
Yes, soon
thanks I m lookin forward @@FrontiersInCFD
Uploaded video with 8 cell arrangement

Thanks
Heat flux can also be applied, this is done as per the requirement received
Can you please explain how to plot graph in between time steps and liquid fraction
Ok will do
In the named selection method in meshing, when you gave then name PCM by selecting all, was it the whole body or all surfaces only that you selected?
Whole surfaces
Can you make a video on how to plot graph in between liquid fraction on y axis and time steps on x axis
Ok will do
Valuable Content 🤝
Thanks
for battery why you did not consider anode and cathode? and also why you did not use any battery models?
this is thermal analysis only not related to chemistry of battery so no msmd model considered
can you tell which type of numerical model is used in the cell simulation
K e model enhance wall treatment thermal effect
can u do it for 3pcm circularly placed one around another from cell where pcm should be lower to higher or higher to lower melting temperature

Great video
Pcm width for pcm1 is 1.5*cell size
Pcm2 is 2*cell size
Pcm3 is 2.5*cell size
Which is packed circularly continuous around one another

check the selection while setting the animation
I don't think this is the case, The continuity residuals was more than one for some reason and reached even higher numbers
Last thing I tried now is to turn off the gravity, and all of a sudden the Continue and the XYZ momentum aren't being solved and showin 0 residuals. But the contours are showing the right behavior also the Liquid fraction is increasing steadily like the video.
Gravity has to be specified. Need to check file. Share on frontiersincfd@gmail.com
You videos provide good information. can you make video for Battery with PCM and Fins by using boussinesq model for PCM
Following is one of example. You can take one gravity value only.

@@FrontiersInCFD sir
HAve you considered this?
what should be the boundary conditions if air has to pass over the battery pack (IP67 Battery pack)? Anybody please
select air as working fluid during material selection define the fluid zone for air
Thank you so much 😊🌹🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Welcome!
can you specify the research paper reference ??
Will update
I have a doubt why dont you use battery models like ntgk ecm etc
This was done for thermal analysis only. How heat will be carried away by working fluid/pcm
These model you specified involves chemistry of battery also..
Ohh okay so could there be any way to observe the electro-thermal effect of the battery on pcm?
have to use battery models
can i get the saved file of this experiment
