Hi David. Jo is right. I just stumbled upon your vlog about our country, the Philippines. Fyi, Makati city is part of Metro Manila. Manila and Makati are two different cities which are all part of Metro Manila.
I'm from the Philippines but from the province. I like to try street food when I go to other countries but never tried in Manila. Looking forward to going home and eating in the streets of Manila too.
Hello! welcome to the Philippines, although I lived in USA I do appreciate vloggers who take time to show our beloved people of the Philippines and our beautiful country! have Fun and be safe! there are also a few of us that are not soo nice but that is a given where ever you go in the world.
@@davidkhai That's when you get to the "roots". No facades. What you see is what you get, especially in the rural/province area. Careful though when strolling around neighborhood where you happen to pass by buddies that are having their drinking session. If they see you with a webcam, they would know right away that you're most likely a vlogger, which they are already very much familiar with, and they would SURELY OFFER you to take a SHOT of what they're drinking. It's sort of getting to know you thing. 👍 Ask the locals where Mall of Asia is and BGC.
Saw your video while video surfing. Have fun traveling in the Philippines. I haven't visited the country since 2016. Be safe & enjoy. There is a lot to see in that country. I just subscribed to your channel. BTW: I'm Fil-American Greetings from San Francisco, California.
Greetings from the Philippines The ideal time to visit the Philippines is this month ahead. Filipino authenticity can be found by getting to know the locals. Visit the Visayas, particularly Siquijor, my native island province, for a serene islander pacific vibe.
Saying "free" getting fishball is more than just being kind and accommodating. If i was there I will not hesitate to give him a huge tip! Super nice kind man
@@raychabaharuddin3399 he is just simply being kind to a foreigner. There were lots of Filipinos like that. They will give the most unbelievable gesture. It's common to them that sometimes leads to taking advantage to them.
Wow I personally appreciate a foreigner like you featuring the beautiful sites and edifice in Manila. Where some of us Filipinos are not even familiar of. Thank you for sharing it in your vlog. Its high time to spend a weeks' vacation out there and try to visit the places in our very own Country's capital city, featured in your vlog.
If you love nature come to north Baguio city it's flower festival this February till March when your here visit Mt pulag and Sagada the Cordillera mountains
Previously, you were in my wife's country and now you are in mine. Happy to follow you through. The love for rice is a Filipino trait. Unfortunately I can't help out in the food dept. Have an awesome stay. Re statue: that is the Philippine national hero, Jose Rizal (1861 - 1896) vs Spanish colonials.
I recommend that you go to Rizal Park, Intramuros, BGC, SM MOA, national museum of fine arts, anthropology. Enjoy your stay in my city. When you start in Intramuros avoid the tourist traps of the small transports offering you ride within the Intramuros because you can just walk your way through there. I also suggest weekend market in Makati the Saturday Salcedo market and Legaspi Sunday Market
there are some more nice parks in Makati, like Washington Sycip Park and then a park right next to it. And BGC is more beautiful and modern than Makati.
The statue at 23:20 is Dr. Jose Rizal, the Philippine National Hero. If you eat lumpiang togue, you have to dip it in the sauce, usually vinegar with chili.
GOOD LUCK DAVID, ENJOY YOUR STAY, ITS MORE FUN IN THE PHILIPPINES, YOU HAVE MORE THAN 7,400 ISLANDS TO EXPLORE, PEOPLE THERE ARE NICE, HOSPITABLE AND WELCOMING. YOU WON'T HAVE A HARD TIME COMMUNICATING BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE SPEAKS ENGLISH.
Install grab for your transportation. You'll see the fare/rate in the apps. Most taxis they overcharge foreigners who doesn't understand Tagalog. But it's generally safe in the Philippines and people are so friendly.

Wow, I'm jealous ... I haven't visited for a while now... the last time was back in Feb 2016. I really hope you'll enjoy Manila but from what my friends told me and what I've seen online, there's plenty to visit outside Manila. I haven't explored outside Manila the last few times I've been home between 2007 and 2016 except the Northern part of the Philippines called Batanes.
Beaches and islands are some of the best in the world! Unfortunately not really near the main land of Manila, but I’ll hopefully be heading there in a few weeks :)

Even in our major cities like Makati, the BGC, Manila and Pasay Bay Areas we keep our greeneries. In every spaces even in residencial areas we value trees and plants. You can't up root a tree without permits and City Hall approvals.
If you try the cafeteria food from the Philippines like the ones at 14:15, I wouldn't get surprised if foreigners will find it disappointing. That's because food like those tend to have less fresh ingredients and they tend to have packet mixes and MSG used to save money are marketed for working Filipinos who are on the go and a lot of them want really affordable food which is what I think is quite sad. The ones served in Filipino restaurants and in those specialized "Carinderias" are actually those authentic ones cooked like how our true ancestors did it. But the best ones tend to be home cooked from somewhat rich families specially those living in rural areas.
