I tried to write a reply to my post here, but kept getting "an error occurred". No doubt the evil one doesn't want any exposure. My brother never had an exorcism because he developed schizophrenia right after. I was the only one to realize the possessiion at age 10 at the time. My brother passed away in 2005. As an adult, I brought up the subject to my parents. My father took it very seriously, and said: "no wonder why I saw his face changing in the ambulance".
I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sorry our society has turned it's back on the possibility of possession. It makes you wonder how many people for whom the drugs didn't work could've been released from living hell by faith and a holy warrior of Christ
Makes ya wonder why Paul VI eliminated the Order of Exorcist when he "changed" Holy Orders on June 18 1968?

@@E.C.2do you know the previous steps to ordination? I've seen the list, but can't claim to remember it exactly. I think it was Acolyte then Exorcist then Deacon.. There might have been other steps in between Acolyte and Exorcist, but I'm pretty sure I recall being surprised that the appointment of Exorcist came before ordination to the Diaconate. And then come to find out that all of the baptized are given the authority of exorcism by virtue of our baptism. We don't have the same authority as the exorcist who is appointed by the bishop, but we have authority over ourselves, and husbands have authority over themselves, their wives and their children, and wives have authority over themselves and over their children. It's like with the government -- don't wait for the government or the Church to appoint someone to help, take authority and responsibility over yourself and your charges. And as our society devolves into paganism, remember that the Apostles who spread the Gospel were surrounded by the demonic in the pagan societies they traveled to. Imagine being a Christian at that time in one of those planes. You were in the minority, and you saw evidence of the demonic all around you. You lived next to possessed neighbors. So you took the responsibility of exercising your authority over your person and your charges, because you are an exorcist.
@@kimfleury Pre-1969 Rite of Ordination steps are Porter Lector Exorcist Acolyte Subdeacon Deacon Priesthood. +Montini altered & deleted the traditional Rite of Ordination & Consecration then removed Porter Exorcist and Subdiaconate. Coincidentally,Subdeacon was where they pledged to recite Divine Office daily under pain of Mortal Sin AND took their vow of celibacy.(Hmmmmm) I received a traditional Latin Rite supplemental Baptism from Fr Moylan,who is a Thuc line Priest.

Can the demonic hide within mental illness? Only to be pulled out with holy relics, etc.?
Can be or will probably, that's why the priest will see to it if the person only needs a psychiatrist or the exorcism. Then the priest will secretly use Sacramentals on them like blessing of Holy water or something like that to see if they will react. If they react then they know for sure that it is exorcism what they needed.
I think, also, mental illness can be caused by the demonic. A perfect way to hide.
These are the best. Creepy but very real, just understanding how to protect ourselves and our family is very valuable.
Once my mother bought my possessed brither a car, hoping he will become normal again. She said " why don't you drive your sister to school?". I winced at that thought, but agreed. Halfway there he suddenly went into a trance and turned the car left in an intersection. I was on the passenger side - I would have been killed by uncoming traffic, but thank God the car passed us just in time. I looked over at him and he was gripping the steering wheel tightly with both hands and staring off in a trance. I just got out of the car and walked the rest of the way to school. I left him in the trance - I was afraid of him and what he would do
Did he ever get help?
No. He developed schizophrenia right after. He passed away in 2005

There is certainly a difference between mental illness and demonic attachment or possession. One would have to have a lot of experience in the spiritual and mental health to discern between the two. It would become difficult when they intertwine.

We know of levitation, but how about extrene heaviness? My brother became possessed after using a ouija board at age 14. My father couldn't lift him up off the chair. When paramedics came, all 3 of these grown men plus my father couldn't lift him up off the chair. They ended up carrying him down the stairs still seated in the chair

Life is a trippy journey of learning many aspects. As a child, when I thought Spirit provided my father's companion for my understanding of non-believers. I had no understanding of the price of curiosity! Interestingly, the nuns who came over to swim at our house were no longer permitted when my father was behaving as if a wannabe 007. Death is near, and my father has been left in hospice to die, not permitted to stay here with his 1st wife and family. Donna Sullivan has left everything to the waitress, whose father dated in the beginning when a relationship was said open. I have had many experiences in the circus of facades! I pray for generations past, present, and future! I believe in Spirit history and stories. I believe in antisemitic behavior as prejudices are dark and close the mind to provide provisions of effective communication processes that enable each person to achieve their goals!

Let’s start with the fact that “speaking in tongues” is not supposed to be babbling but that the people who hear you and don’t speak your language understand you.

This was enjoyable,thank you for not delving into traditional vs novus ordo and simply talking about exorcism.Personally am rad trad but polemics can deduct from spiritual subjects.I highly disagree about non-Catholic "exorcisms."
I think I couldn't be an exorcist. I wouldn't be able to deal with these kind of people. The lady obsessed with having a baby spending thousands of her husband's hard earned money just because she feels like going to a medium... A spoiled brat permanently offended at her mom, because her irresponsible childish father left her... Honestly I would never forgive such horrible people and I would never want to help them. In my opinion there is absolutely no justification for such behaviour. I don't understand how God can forgive all of this.
