- Timelapse footage captured a stunning aurora borealis dancing over the Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine.
A series of solar flares and "explosions" from the sun led to geomagnetic storms that triggered "spectacular displays of aurora on Earth" NOAA'a Space Weather Prediction Center said.

I saw this on the live camera on line but the colors were muted but you could see that the cars were all out there and it appeared like haze dancing on the live stream. This time lapse is spectacular , It must of been really special to be there . I am hoping for Boston tomorrow night at the waterfront 🤞:)
North of us in southern Virginia they got to see the beautiful aurora. In central NC, we got overcast skies without a drop of much needed rain. 😢

It's difficult to predict them, but the best times of year in the far north is May and January. It has to be clear skies to see them! We rarely see the fuschia ones unless it's 50 below, which is rare, thank goodness. 🥶😂
This one was certainly predicted. It was seen all the down in Florida.
Not such a rare occasion if you’re Canadian. Watching the northern lights (and drinking illegally) were a big part of my youth. 👍🇨🇦
This looks enhanced, and, of course almost all digital images are. Can anyone attest to whether or not nighttime vision was set on the video. I think it was utilized in most of what I have seen whether photos or video posted on various sites? I live in this town, and I fell asleep too early. Ooops. Everyone I have spoken with said the images are much more vivid that what the naked eye saw that night. Anyone have feedback on this subject?

I would be ready to move on 2 the afterlife after witnessing such a magical event. Feeling that i experienced such ultimate beauty from this planet, i would be content enough. Makes me think and feel that humans have been given such a magnificent, beautiful, magical planet.
