Off topic, but I love the lace detail on the blouse you're wearing. Gives me ideas to add a feminine touch to some of my plainer shirts. Thanks for sharing your passion!
Thank you! I actually bought the cotton lawn already embroidered for like $3/yard. I have it in I think 6 colors and 2 blouses out of each color. I love that fabric a lot. The pattern is Wearing History's Elsie WWI blouse which you can find on Etsy. I found the pattern runs a bit big in the bust but otherwise, it makes up very well.
I appreciate you making this video, so that I can get inspiration for potential sewing ideas! I finished my pink plaid apron, and so am considering making a Spanish-style jacket for the fall or a corded bonnet, I just need to find the right type of cording!
Hi, would you ever make a video about how you store /should store your historical wardrobe and how to clean it, and how your sweet hubby is going to mend your footwear. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. ❤
Right now things are stored in several places around the house because we don't have one single large enough space for all of it so I'm not sure anyone really wants to see the chaos. I did show a little bit of it in my event packing video back in June but not all of it. I really need a better system and if I find one I like, I'd absolutely do a video on it and share it!
Hello ❤️ absolutely adore your videos this capsule wardrobe series is fantastic for helping understand fashion history more in depth for novices! Please could you consider doing a capsule wardrobe video for the late 1880s? I’m trying to recreate a working class outfit (an “east ender” from 1888ish London specifically) and would love to have your expertise! Thank you - Nicole ☺️
Unfortunately, my knowledge for the 19th century ends at 1883 so I won't be help at all for anything that late-I've never done it. Marna Davis would be a great person to talk to about that, but she mostly focuses on American clothing. She's coming out with a Dress Historian's Field Guide on the 1890s that may be helpful to you and she's said she'll be doing other decades as well. I think preorders for her 1890s guide just ended yesterday but once they're printed, she'll likely have more copies available. This is her Etsy shop: www.etsy.com/shop/WickedStepmothers?ref=usf_2020.
I did show almost everything. Some things I don't have pictures of unfortunately. It's a work in progress of getting photos of all my belongings and I have photos of a lot of it, but not all of it yet.

@KatelynKearns Aw, thank you for this info! It's so flattering on you and looks super comfy to wear. Hope to give it a go soon!

Good luck! I find I also need inspiration and a little push to get things accomplished now and again.
I love the way you explained your wardrobe foundations and then the rest of your clothes.
Thank you for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

@@KatelynKearns Very much so!
Very intresting video, I wish you would show all the thing you talk about.

There are so many eras I want a capsule wardrobe for
I'm working on getting a functioning wardrobe for most of the 19th century done so that I can focus on 20th century wardrobes for a bit.
Tips; Look at second hand stores for children’s and grown ups suspenders. Some are one inch and very often possible to find colored and striped.👍🏻♥️
That's a great idea!
