Yeah, I really liked how they made Mario worry. We never usually see Mario worry very much about anything. It made it seem he really cared for her, whereas in the other games it seems as if he's more excited about the adventure itself rather than worrying if Peach is safe.

Probably the reason he's so angry in Smash since he isn't the main character XD And the toads are absolute jerks to Luigi, have you ever played Super Mario 64 DS and talked to them? The stuff they say to Luigi is just so downputting, one toad doesn't even believe you're the real Luigi is that you're just Mario running around in green unless you show him you can do a backward flip and spin in the air, and even if you do it and talk to him again, he STILL won't believe him *(although part of that has to do with NPCs saying the same stuff anyways, but still...)* and one toad outright tells him if he doesn't strive to be as outgoing and confident as Mario, he'd be left behind in the shadows. Like, what kind of life lesson is that? That you have to be exactly like Mario or else you're a loser? It reminds me of people in the real world who tell quiet people *(like me)* they're pushovers because they aren't like extroverts, which is just rude. It's also funny the toads say this because toads are some of the most biggest scaredy cats who do nothing in any bad situation *(except for the blue and yellow ones and Toadette who seem braver than the red spotted ones)* and they make fun Luigi for being scared all the time although he's saving the world and their ungrateful behinds from being trapped in paintings. Plus, Luigi is really charming with his more reserved personality and more relatable, I can't really relate to Mario because I'm not overly brave or excels in all things like he can, but I can certainly relate to being a bit of a klutz, being doubt because of my personality and mannerisms, and being scared and trying to conquer those fears. Luigi DID used to be like Mario back in the n64 days until Luigi's Mansion gave him his more well-known timid one. Plus, he really isn't all that shy or a scaredy-cat as the toads or other characters say he is, considering he adventures as much as Mario and is tough when he has to be. There was one toad who admires Luigi though. I really do like how Luigi seems to be getting much more respect these days. Even in the RPGs. I hated Starfy for how she used to treat Luigi, but she gave him much more respect in Dream Team.

Mario is pretty competitive and gets jealous easily if he isn't number 1, they don't show this side of him too much in the mainline games, only the spinoffs. He was definitely secretly mad at Luigi for beating him in that tennis game, he was just trying to play it cool when coming up to praise him while at the same time letting Luigi know how badly had wanted to win by slapping him on the back and rubbing on his shoe in a playfully rough manner. Siblings and friends do that to each other and there's nothing wrong with that. My brothers do stuff like that to me and we're still cool. I'm sure Luigi knows that Mario wanted to win too, which is why he laughed albeit nervously. Mario can sometimes be a bit rude when he loses and when he wins. He's really show-offy in his winning victories. And he tends to take it *really* hard when he loses. Go look at his losing animations in Mario Golf Toadstool Tour on the Gamecube, he... cries hysterically and runs around all over the place tripping over himself and stuff. It's depressing really, seeing this usually tough man cry at losing at golf. His biggest flaw of all time is losing.

Dobie docks When I saw the ending, quite a while ago, I thought he was just laughing because it was humorous. After reading your comment, realising that he was crying. I thought that he had some mixed emotions, like happiness and joy that his brother is back; relief that it’s all over and he finally did it and enjoying the humorous return of his brother, Mario. That ending was actually pretty deep, Nintendo did an impeccable job with it.

After dealing with who knows how long of a night of spooks and scares, Luigi getting thanked and hugged by Mario is reward enough for our favorite green bean boy.
Mario hugging Luigi in LM3 really tugged at th heart strings. Not only cause he's free and glad to see him but also to commend his brother on rescuing him. This little moment was the most emotion we see out of Mario compared to his normal games where he usually fearless fighting Bowser. I just live how the LM series brings Mario down to earth in a way.

I swear in Luigi 3 after I saved Mario and he was so enthusiastic about showing me to king boo, I couldn’t stop saying to myself “It’s not him it’s not him ITS NOT HIM” cause I thought he could’ve somehow been king boo in disguise. The relieved laugh and tears of joy on his face gets me everytime. It's so fucking pure. He's just so happy to see Mario's okay and that it's over. That is wholesome incarnate right there! Don't get me started Polterpup and the brothers hugging as well as the second one with the princess from 3. It's enough to even melt the heart of a Dark Souls player like myself. We're like soon players, we aren't made of stone but are tough, yet know to admit when it's cute.
Its pretty deep, Luigi always was the "green Mario" that was in the shadow of his bro, and Luigi saving Mario is the "opposite". So Luigi being shy to Mario, who compliments him, is pretty sad
Luigi is the most modest and humble character in the Mario universe, he is absolutely genuine and his kindness speaks volumes. In Luigi’s Mansion 1 his tears and laughter show that he was genuinely happy to see his brother safe.
Luigi will go as far as he can to save his brother Mario. Even in Super Mario World 2, their bond as babies is so great that they know where each other are even if they're far apart from each other. No matter how scared Luigi gets, he'll always be there for his brother. Except for New Super Luigi U where Luigi doesn't care at all that Mario's gone
E. Gad's inventions have come a long way. Back then he needed to process them through some big bulky machines in his laboratory, now he's made at flashlight that can do the same, only faster and portable.
Everyone talks about Luigi cry-laughing, which is still Very Important, but I feel like everyone omits the part that Mario passes out after you beat Bowser/King Boo and E Gadd remarks that Mario must have been so worried for you and wanted to make sure you were okay before he finally collapsed from exhaustion ;-; *Edit:* HELL YEAH ITS IN HERE 4:24

Luigi is the most modest and humble character in the Mario universe, he is absolutely genuine and his kindness speaks volumes. In Luigi’s Mansion 1 his tears and laughter show that he was genuinely happy to see his brother safe.
