Maybe he doesn’t want his son to end up like his fallen friend, or to spare him from the amount of hardships that come with such a blood sport as the games. But who knows, only time will tell. FINALLY! A legend that not only has an interesting story but one that also makes sense to be in a blood sport. It feels like forever since the games felt like Apex "Legends".

I don't play Apex, but I'm always here for the cinematics. They are 10/10 almost every time. I love the characters and the world they have created. I would love to see a TV series much in the way of Arcane.

I think that was supposed to be a teaser for his son. If you think about it, it’s his son that made it to the Apex games, not Ballistic (aka Nathan’s father) which would make sense. In fact I theorize that he will actually make it to the Apex games a different season
I love his theme and how the melody keeps coming back, hopefully it will be in the game as one of the songs you can choose.

Many of his voice lines show how arrogant he is, but I really like it, especially the voice line when we use this legend "I'll show them what the real legend can do!"

Ballistics son is 100% gonna be a legend. No doubt about it. It fits perfectly; Silva finally lets him in, and then ballistic gets all mad at Silva because they had a deal. Can’t wait for the season though.
I doubt that considering they will have to make intereactions between Ballistic and his son when either one of them kills each other. Imagine Ballistic killing his son, it would make no sense during the games and gameplay, and he would 100% have to have a voice line when doing so

Im sure he will, all of the legends have someone in their story (either current or past) that is also in the game at this point. It makes Ballistic an outlier to not. Either his Son joins as Jester or Conduit in the future seasons or he gets a lot of future lore in S17

I haven't even played Apex for months but I'll always keep coming to watch these amazing cinematics. He seems like a badass already.
The Medic from TF2 after retirement comes back to the Apex Games to show the new generation how it's done.

First legend I can actually say I’m excited in a long time. Maybe the other legends’ backstory has not meshed with me, but I believe this is what I was waiting for, in a game of blood and sport.

Meanwhile consistently fail to progress any of the existing storylines... Their slow pace at releasing content and constant retcon have rendered the whole storyline worthless

I like multiplayer games, but these days i am more hyped for single than multiplayer games, as not only they are becoming rarer nowadays but their devs seem to care about them

The homage paid to multiple films, the camera work, the hallway fight scene, the tone provided by the backtrack, the personal and present history between Silva and Ballistic! Oooooh my gawd! This was good. I want a live action recreation of this but with Keanu Reeves or Scott Glenn.

Great story, I love the badass old man archetype. I’m sure he genuinely wants to keep his son away from the games. However it seems likely that he also wants to rewrite his legacy. Admirable and selfish, an interesting mix.
that part about "break a sacred vow i made to the dead" makes me think that when the Guy of his old squad died or was injured or something, his girlfriend / wife (who im assuming is the sister of that guy) asked him to not compete anymore and he lost his whole identity? just guessing narratively here
I think the guy who died was his brother in law and partner.
the fact that its R.A. Downes as VA is the best thing they could have done
What I like about ballistic is he comes from an era before everyone had magic fluid, a swarm of drones, a literal black hole, or a titan for a backpack. He’s just a guy who’s good with guns.
So he gave himself up to save his son. Hopefully Ballistic can one day make amends with him.
