  • The depth maps from the Kinect look very good. There's a short minimum range, beneath which objects aren't detected, and outdoor operations is definitely out of bounds. Since many robotics applications will be indoors, this looks as if it will be a useful sensor, although the size of the transformer suggests that it may also be quite power hungry (1A @ 12V).
