I've got a lot of their thermometers for smoking, and this one for inside. I love their products, but using the clip on a pot for oil temperature is a joke. It won't let the probe go straight down without slipping off.
hey man can you do a review/ setup of your grills and what you like and dislike about them. how often you use them, what you cook with them and ect. thanks
I have one of these. The thing that confuses me is the low alarm. I don't see the point of it. Do you? Nice review of a great unit. Everything from Thermoworks is top notch with unbeatable service.
Hello, If I had to guess why it has a low temp. alarm, my guess would be if there is a heat source failure you would have time to take your $90.00 standing rib roast to your neighbors and beg to use there oven. just a guess.
Just a thought.... but a low alarm would be useful if you're defrosting something such as poultry. You would want to know the "safe" temp range while it defrosts - such as NOT above 40 degrees (that would be the set on the alarm). If I am thinking this out correctly. :-)
If your cooker drops below a certain temp (meaning out of gas, charcoal, wood, etc…). Or…if you’re resting food and need to know when it drops down to too low of a temp. That’s what I’ve always used that for :)
Nice looking unit Steve.
I have a few differing temp gauges and timers form Thermoworks and all of their products are top notch.
Great review.
Great looking Gadget Steve!
Very cool thermometer. Wouldn't mind having one of these around for long cooks.
Great products and great company! Thanks for the super review!
Thank you for being so thorough, even though I will be using it in my multi-cooker or oven, your review helped.
nice review Steve

Can you clip this probe onto the grill grates and the probe into steaks, chops, etc and set the internal temp you want for grilling?
What the heck is the little plastic clip thing!?! I can't figure out what it's for.
There is a clip to attach to a pan. Oil temp for deep frying.
What's the purpose of the low temp alarm?
