I dunno man. I’m not a fan of that soft shackle instead of the carabiner. I have a few wings with soft shackles instead of maillons and reserve connections, but carabiners for riser connections I prefer.
Thanx for sharing. This harness is a big hassle compared to Lightness 3. I am super glad that I went for Advance. My hnf bag with OXA and my design of backpack 11kg. Of course not for bivouac the but F(rench)race is great for that. Also Kortel Kolibri.
I dont't think this is a fair comparison, the F*Race is litteraly less than half of the weight of a lightness 3 😉 An Airbag protector is definetly the best you can get and totally worth the 20s it takes to pump up. And don't hate on the softlinks until you tried them, it saves you a lot of time and hassle leaving your wing connected so I've been doing just this for the last 2 years with softlinks or carabiners 😁
I think Softlinks are getting more and more common on uberlight products and think it's a good call. The F*Race is made for extreme h&f projects and races where every Gramm matters, not the right place for heavy metal parts in my opinion 😉

Regarding size, any idea which size would be most appropriate for 172cm? There is an overlap between S and M for that height.
Sorry I've only had the M and it fit my mother with 176cm quite good. Probably still good with 172cm but if possible give the S a try I'd say ;)
How much too short was the harness for you?
Quite a bit. I think M size is suited up to 180, and only for some people larger than that.
