Good GRIEF, that is a fast little cartridge!! Three seconds to cover that distance, and to hold so close to center. (Of course, the shooter & team are dead-on, too!) Nicely done.
90 grains. I did not know they made them that heavy. At 3200 FPS, that is better than the 243 and 6 CM. All of that off a .250 Savage cartridge that is 107 years young! Great shooting by the way sir.
Extra-nice video, Mark & Sam. I got the feeling of the cool morning, breeze and low sunshine. It emphasises how the conditions are the challenge (not just the distance).
I've never shot this cartridge. It's amazing how light the recoil is on that caliber even with so much more propellant behind it than the standard 223.
My friend said the same thing about my riffle. It's a savage 12vss. Look it up I'd your so inclined.. although I'm starting to question my twist rate.. I believe mine is 1:12. It's fantastic for the lighter bullets I run.. I doubt I could appropriately push anything heavy enough to make this shot.
Thanks for sharing and showing us what can be done with 'old obsolete' cartridges when you build around them appropriately. I find it slightly annoying that manufacturers won't make the same heavy barreled appropriately stocked 'varmint rifle' with a faster twist barrel for the 'tactical shooters' and their heavy/long bullets, and instead only give you an option that requires tooling up for a new cartridge. You just feed that frustration more and more with these projects 😅✌️
Was this in SA? I was there back in 2018 and loved it, only about 500mi from the furthest point on the planet from home. It's strange when everything in your surroundings is the opposite, yet you still feel at home with the locals, I really didn't expect that. Excellent shots, you two work great together, and greetings from Michigan.
What is the twist rate? Must be 1:8 at least. Factory 22/250 is 1:12. Here in Ireland we were stuck with the 22/250 REM cartridge for deer from 1972- 1993 ( torture), no reloading= many lost deer. The only other permitted was the 5.6x57RWS, most could not afford, because of the price of the rifles so chambered and the price of the ammo ( 22/250 x 4).
@@markandsamafterwork wow! 1:7.7, that will do it. Thank you. Things have changed here for the better. I now have a 270 Win calibre Steyr b/a for deer and a 308 win Benelli s/a for driven boar ( in mainland Europe). Really enjoy your content.
A QUESTION: the 22Cheetah is out of fashion/extinct ? It seems like a good idea to me, but I don't know very much. More powder pushing the pill ! Why is it out of favour ?
Man, talk about challenging yourself, I know you could have any custom caliber of your choice and I prefer my special purpose long range wildcats but .... One thing I like about your ELR vids is you often use basic standard chamberings. 6BR, 7 Mag, 22-250 etc and without even using an 80X March scope lol It's fun to watch your vids.
Relationship goals, a shooter and spotter also married. Love your videos, very impressive long range. How do you find the 22-250 muzzle break. do you think its necessary ?
That is some outrageous shooting for the 22-250. One of my favorite calibers
Thanks Stan
Same I still have a soft spot for the 220 swift but you don’t gain a lot on a good 22/250
With heavy bullets a good barrel and the highest quality optics easy
Mine too. BVSS model 12 , I love Mine ! ! My best prairie dog shit with mine , was 745 ....
90gr bullets with the appropriate twist in a 22-250 is a definite long range contender!
yep, Cheers
Third one in the second group of five hit the target outstanding these videos are a joy to watch better than all these damn prepping videos in the US
Cheers Mark, thanks
I love it all, but the drone flights, putting the distance in perspective are sublime! 😄👍
Thanks Dennis
Man that action sounds like butter 🧈
Howa does a decent action for sure, Cheers

Great shooting!!! I'm in the middle of a build for a 22-250 AI now with a 1-7" just for trying those bullets. Can't wait for it to be done.
Cheers

One of my favorite channels…
Cheers man
Great shooting. An amazing array of weapons. It'd be impressive if it was the same rifle. It's more so that you shoot different platforms.
Thanks Man, glad you like, cheers
So good my friend
Cheers Walter
Nice it doesn’t take much wind to throw off a little 22 cal bullet

Taking the old 22 to stretch it's legs. Nice.

4:42 "OH, that sounded like a ding" 😊
Yep, lol, Cheers
Mark and Sam …….. pushing little bullets to see how far they will go before they just give up and fall out of the sky . LoL 😂 Great shooting
Cheers
I hope people understand the complexity of that shot with a 22 caliber bullet
Thanks again, Cheers
Next 22 short - 1000 yards challenge. Just kiddin'😛. Great shooting man👍💯
22lr at 1000 on the channel, Cheers
@@markandsamafterwork I know ;)

Been a farmer and a 22-250 owner i sure like the backdrop of the Canola crop lol

I'd love to see a close up of your ammo compared to the nearest factory ammo. Just to get an idea of how different the load are
Cheers
The loads are so different from factory they actually hit the target! 😂
GREAT Shooting 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I love these vids you’ll have to do the Aussie thing and take a 303/25 out to 2000yds
Cheers
Must feel like therapy shooting something like this after that .505 Gibbs😊
Lol, yep, Cheers
You running a 1:12 twist or did you change the twist ?
target barrel, 1:7.7 all info in the video, Cheers
Does heavier bullets work if barrels twist is 1:14”?
no
At what distance is that rifle zeroed, please?
100
Thank you.
Great rifle Ammo is expensive unless ypu can reload. But getting large primers is hard
Cheers
How many grains of 2209 do you have to jam in the case to achieve 3200fps with 90gn projectile??? She must be running pretty hot...🤘👊
Enough, lol, we have videos on how we work out what works best, but we don't offer loads sorry, Cheers
Well done. Wow.!! 90grn in a 22-250. !!
Yep, glad you liked, Cheers
I've got 60 grain Nosler Partitions, but those 90 gainers are obviously custom loads,Berger bullets are some of the finest quality, IMO nice shootin!!
Awesome is right.

A QUESTION: the 22Cheetah is out of fashion/extinct ? It seems like a good idea to me, but I don't know very much. More powder pushing the pill ! Why is it out of favour ?
Not something we have used...
My main concern was such light bullet at long distance could easily be affected by the wind
Not really the case, low bc is bad, 90grn .22cal is not a low bc bullet, Cheers
Have you messed with the 25-06 at all?
no
Really hard to read info on load etc.. love my 22 250
Put your glasses on, lol, Cheers
Will u shoot the savage .220 with remington accutips
Nope, we shoot ELR, that is a hunting set up and ammo, 200-300 yards. maybe try a hunting channel, Cheers

Written in the video
nice.......................

May I ask, what kind of a scope you use for that distance?
