What a great history lesson Ed. I really enjoyed your patriotic celebration. I think you made a beautiful consist to celebrate our Independence Day a.k.a. 4 July! 💯❤️😎👏👏
Thanx so much Frank! I enjoyed gathering these cars for the past year and a half or so, and also enjoyed finally watching them all run together!
Colorful line up, have a COOL INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEERATION , free of any UFOs.
Thanx! 110deg is cool in the desert! Been here since '91 ain't seen a UFO yet!
It’s quite an old video of mine, but the whole “Flavors” of the State of Maine boxcars, was a combined order between BAR and NH’s insulated ‘Potato Cars.’ By far the operating one I reviewed on my channel, is a favorite whenever it comes out at train shows.
Keeping it brief, Maine potatoes rolled south by train, and keeping the cost low, the New Haven agreed to use the BAR’s original paint scheme for its new order cars. If you want to see more about it, and the operation, it’s all on my channel.
Many Thanx Casey I'll check it out! I just recently learned of the cars with the little potato graphic on them and now that will be on my bucket list as none of mine have it.
Very nice! Cool toys and trains, for the holiday. My brother lives in Goodyear, so we are always talking about the difference in the dry heat, compared to where we all grew up in South Jersey and Toledo. Have a great Independence Day.
Thank you so much for watching! People always say, “It’s a dry heat” but so’s a blast furnace and I wouldn’t want to walk inside one of those! 😆 Still, it’s the price we pay for not having a snow shovel in the garage!
Great history Ed 👍 cool toys great shape great looking patriotic train 🚂love that red white and 🇺🇸Great video Ed Happy 4of July
Thanx Eddie! I enjoyed putting this train together and watching it run for the first time. Have a safe and sane 4th of July - Enjoy!
WOW! I LOVE your vintage toys👍🔥🔥
love the BAR
Thanx Jub! It took my slow-old but to get that BAR = Bangor and Aroostook! Good grief, I mean I knew that but...
cool! Those space toys are outta this world! Great video Ed!
Thanx John! I love the space toys as much as I do trains and probably have more of them than I do trains.
Interesting History from the 50s. WOW Yikes 116 is HOT.! Great Video and have a nice Holiday.!
Thanx Mark! I just checked out Accuweather and they're now predicting 120deg! DANG! 😟
Thanks Ed have a happy and safe 4th
Thanx radar - you as well!
Interesting presentation Ed. 50s television science fiction toys to Jeremiah O'Brian. And some awesome train action. Happy 4th of July Ed 🇺🇲
😆 Many Thanx Al! in the final analyses they're all toys, but I haven't been messing with the trains much and thought people might like to see what other collecting madness I've been up to lately!
Nice Toys and Nice Trains Ed. Can't beat the Nostalgia Items. Jebb had a Great Time at the Marx Toy and Train Show. He picked up several things.
Thanx Matt, glad you enjoyed the trip down memory lane. Will you doing a video on Jebb's new stuff?
@Ed-ICE-Berg Probably not. He got alot of Marx WW2 Toys plus a Pork Chop Hill Playset. Lots of Army Men and Tanks, Jeeps and Half Tracks also.
@@jebbthetrainkid1281 last Christmas I raised my Christmas layout board up off the floor and put it on a couple of nice looking folding sawhorses for the holidays - and it’s still up! Soooo I now use it to setup some of my playsets and I can run trains as well OR combine the two! 😁
@Ed-ICE-Berg Yeah that would be neat Ed. Jebb likes to put his Army Men on the Layout and have a little battle. You could really do a Nice Western and WW2 Layout on your Table.
@@jebbthetrainkid1281 before I settled on a plan for my layout I did a lot of special space or military setups. I have a lot of videos showing those setups over the years.
Have a safe and happy independence day
You as well Ray!
Awesome Ed I have some of the same stuff nice train 🚂 🇺🇸
Thanx Ed! I do like the red-white-and blue cars and they're easy to find.
Sweet consists, Ed! Somehow I missed this yesterday, hope you had a fun Fourth! 🇺🇲
Thanx John! I'm behind on all my YouTubing as well. I can't say 'fun' was the operative word - too hot to go anywhere or do anything outside so we sat in the house all day. It's s'posed to get up to 120deg today. Still not having 'fun'! 😀
@@Ed-ICE-Berg Yikes! And here I thought 98° was bad.
Very nice
Thanx Paul!
Ed, I enjoyed the space toys. The trains were great, nice run.
Thanx Steve! Vintage space toys are among my largest group of collections.
@@Ed-ICE-Berg Wow, that is cool!
Happy Fourth of July Ed.
Thanx Hunter - you as well!
Speaking of history I featured the Jeremiah O Brion on a previous upload which you may find interesting
I'll have to check it out John!
What size stock and type did you use for your ties under your tubular track? Where did you purchase it. OUTSTANDING layout. I really like the old school feel and days past representation of your layout. What size is it; the decking measurements?🔥🔥🔥👍👍🔥
Thank you so much for the kudos! The ties are rubber and were bought years ago off eBay and were made by a company called 'Moondog' which has been out of business for some time now. The layout is a 'Franken table' added on to then reduced in size over the years. What remains is actually 'L'-shaped but the part of the table currently used as the active layout is about 54" x 9'10"
@@Ed-ICE-Berg Very Nice. I have a similar layout in my basement. its 4 ft wide by 12 ft long. Basically two ovals with two switches, one into a business siding and one into a passenger station platform. I am am almost 60 years old and honestly don’t want to invest major money into an elaborate layout that I will have to tear down in 5-7 years when we move into a condo or townhouse. I don’t enjoy cutting grass much anymore.🤪I might add a little more, but it will be basic flat plywood base with no frills. I just like watching the trains move. I do like your multi story tin building with fire out of multiple windows🔥🔥. I was a Captain/Firefighter/Paramedic for 32 years.
@@RABSTRAINS Thank you for your service! I had a 4x12 layout at my work back in the '90s and enjoyed it immensely. The layout I have now is very simple - there's just a bunch of buildings and details on it to give it character. The building on fire is actually cardboard and was made by Multiple Toymakers in the '70s as part of one of their Fire and Emergency playsets. In a way it is an homage to my uncle who served in the fire station on the next street over from my childhood home. I ended up going a different route: Air Force 36 yrs total (24 active, the remainder contractor and GS civilian)
@@Ed-ICE-Berg thank you for your service to our country. My dad had 20 years in retiring from the AF as a boom operator on a KC135. He retired in 1968.
