Ian Macgilchr8st is an outstandng polymath. His understanding of wholeness is profound. Thanks for this - your grounded approach allowed him to shine in the frenetic world of podcasts.
We called them bridge-builders ,back in the day. Some say " interdisciplinary"..... Polymath is cool ; Goethe was one such and he described in some detail "where" he kept Faust , prior to committing the work to paper . (Consciousness).
My two favourite perspectives: Jung and McGilchrist 💫😊🍃 Arohanui, (Aotearoa New Zealand Māori) the embracing and uniting love of the many, with warm gratitude, Maria
Exciting conversation . I enjoy listening to folks smarter than me. This, to me for one small moment , makes the oft used phrase" let's unpack this " , seem redundant. Also some affirmations ,of sorts. Fine work everyone!
Great work here. I can’t believe the conclusions I’ve read in scientific research namely neuroscience that seems to be defending itself from science instead of embracing what is obviously of worth and richness in producing a wealth of new knowledge for well being. Thanks Ian but also thanks to the channel.
Dr. McGilchrist's description of the differences between the two hemispheres makes me think of the measurable psychological differences that on the group level exist between the masculine and the feminine, and whether these gender differences are related to the hemispheres in a way that can be verified by a scientific method. That is, do men's cognition on average lean more towards the left hemisphere and women's towards the right?
Heraclitus, Hegel, The Tao, Quantum Field Theory, Dialectical Materialism, ticking all the boxes here... (Edit: I wrote this original message, before he even mentioned Hegel! I just knew it was coming)
I have always had interest in psychology. Was never interested in science of human mind until 2015 when I worked as customer service rep and some people attitude and behavior was appalling. I often scratched my head not knowing what to make of such kinds of people. I see how dogs are quite intelligent to their owners. 😁 Thank you, for this video. I'm getting M Gilchrist book. 🙏🏻

He argues this isn’t the case and if anything women are more left hemisphere if you have to make a generalisation.
Thank you so much for another great video. Learning, I love it!
I'm 10 mins in and this is blowing my mind
