Where the royal palms stand proudly Underneath the summer sky Where the tropic sun shines golden Stands our proud Miami high Fair blue skies and golden sunshine Lift our colors gold and blue As we lift our voices singing Hail Miami high to you
Thank You!! For putting together this wonderful video on the history of Miami Senior High. My Father graduated from there in 1930, my brothers and I all graduated from there. I don't think I ever stopped to realize what a beautiful building it was. Love the idea of showing this to the current students so they can truly appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of this school. Thank you again for the memories!! Deanna (Briggs) O'Brien Class of 57
What a beautifully done video! Part of what I am today is a result of being an MHS student and graduate. My classmates were good friends and wonderful people, the teachers were dedicated and taught not only their subjects but how to contribute to a better world. I am so proud to be an MHS Alum. Carol (Miller) Rose, M. D., class of 1958
My mom went to Miami High. Sadly, she passed away last year. I was missing her and decided to try to find more info on some of the things about her past she spoke of with fond memories. I found this video in the process and added some details to what she told me about her beautiful high school. Though it’s years later, I would truly like to express my appreciation for this video. It helped me feel connected to someone I love and miss tremendously. ❤ to all.
A beautiful little film....brought back a lot of memories...great performance of the Alma Mater at the end. Hope you all have seen the newly restored and improved building. A remarkable achievement.
i always knew this school was special and i thank God for allowing me to be a part of it! I enjoyed every bit of it all my four years there!!! This video was beautiful! i smiled from beginning to end! just awwwing and all!! C/o '03
Thank you for putting this video on the history of Miami Senior High. I graduated from there in 1990 and my daugther went there too and it bring us a great memories.
I was impressed by the 20 million dollar renovation, which kept the architecture theme originally intended for this fabulous building. My mother, an uncle on my father's side, and multiple cousins/siblings/friends graduated from this institution, with its grand structure and history. We are all proud to be STINGAREEs (from 1939 to 1976 and beyond)
From the first day I attended Miami High I very clearly felt the magnificence of the structure and thought it was unfortunate that the main building (the only building back then) was not living up to it's full original potential. I'm very glad to see it's so expertly renovated. The architecture does remind me of The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. They were both constructed in the 1920's and have mostly Spanish with some Italian and Moorish influences in their architecture.
I defy anyone to post a high school Alma Mater more poetically and musically beautiful than OURS! We were so fortunate to have attended this fantastic and beautiful school, yet I wonder how many of us realized this when we were there.
I want to thank the creator of this video for the great effort taken to put together a historically correct video highlighting many of Miami High's unique qualities. I agree that there were many a good time to share and it must have been difficult to select from those for this video. Sports was and is a major part of the Miami High heritage but football, baseball and basketball are not the only sports that Miami High was known for. You need to include Soccer, Tennis, Swimming, Bowling etc.
What is your mom's name.. I graduated in 1989. They should put together a tribute to all the teachers that shaped the students and kept all the traditions alive.
The class of '61 saw the first influx of Cuban Refugees. They were a good group of kids & I graduated with many of them in 1963 along with kids from Puerto Rico, and South America. 50 Years have changed Miami and all schools. That does not detract from MHS's accomplishments. I am proud to be a Stingaree!

Like many. It was built during the building boom of the 20s. The architecture of the time stands out. Some have been torn down. This one survives.
Now and always, a stingaree! Hail Miami High
