My mom went to Miami High. Sadly, she passed away last year. I was missing her and decided to try to find more info on some of the things about her past she spoke of with fond memories. I found this video in the process and added some details to what she told me about her beautiful high school. Though it’s years later, I would truly like to express my appreciation for this video. It helped me feel connected to someone I love and miss tremendously. ❤ to all.
blrr mane im in the school right now as a monitor
I'm a graduate of '84. Thanks for the video! 🙏❤

I love this school, I have many wonderful memories of my time there, class of 1995
hi arianna
Like many. It was built during the building boom of the 20s. The architecture of the time stands out. Some have been torn down. This one survives.
Class of 1999, Thank you very much for the memories Stingaree 4 life .

Class of '99! Great video!
My wife went to Miami high
I was impressed by the 20 million dollar renovation, which kept the architecture theme originally intended for this fabulous building. My mother, an uncle on my father's side, and multiple cousins/siblings/friends graduated from this institution, with its grand structure and history. We are all proud to be STINGAREEs (from 1939 to 1976 and beyond)
Class of 19... miss it so much already.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Now and always, a stingaree! Hail Miami High

J.Alvarez class of 1975
From the first day I attended Miami High I very clearly felt the magnificence of the structure and thought it was unfortunate that the main building (the only building back then) was not living up to it's full original potential. I'm very glad to see it's so expertly renovated. The architecture does remind me of The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. They were both constructed in the 1920's and have mostly Spanish with some Italian and Moorish influences in their architecture.
My grandfather graduated from MHS in 1924 and my father in 1949. I, however, graduated from Coral Park in 1978.
Great job! Thanks for the memories. Jimmy Carter '59
Class of 1964, Thank you for the memories
Hi I am at southwest and how was highschool back then?
I defy anyone to post a high school Alma Mater more poetically and musically beautiful than OURS! We were so fortunate to have attended this fantastic and beautiful school, yet I wonder how many of us realized this when we were there.
Even provided books for the visually impaired. What a school 7:39
A beautiful little film....brought back a lot of memories...great performance of the Alma Mater at the end. Hope you all have seen the newly restored and improved building. A remarkable achievement.
@Raquel Regalado. Thank you. Blue and Gold Forever! "Non verbis sed operis" (Not by words, but deeds). CLASS OF 1977.

class of 07 and won the paul bell award
what is alma mater?
Chantelle Comas I know it's really late to replay but it's the miami high theme
I still feel that my high school has the most beautiful alma mater I've ever heard and the lyrics are perfect.
Great documentary wish they had one like this for other broward and dade county schools.
Man Miami High is a gang infested school in Lil Havana lolololololol
What years are you referring to??
6400az I’ve seen gangs but that’s in every school it’s not infested there not that much violence
The class of '61 saw the first influx of Cuban Refugees. They were a good group of kids & I graduated with many of them in 1963 along with kids from Puerto Rico, and South America. 50 Years have changed Miami and all schools. That does not detract from MHS's accomplishments. I am proud to be a Stingaree!
@@gloryb45 Hi Gloria, how are you doing?
1972-1974
What is your mom's name.. I graduated in 1989. They should put together a tribute to all the teachers that shaped the students and kept all the traditions alive.
Thank you for putting this video on the history of Miami Senior High. I graduated from there in 1990 and my daugther went there too and it bring us a great memories.
