I bought one from the first release of these and after a long wait it arrived. It is a fabulous acoustic guitar that I continue to get much enjoyment out of. It has got better from playing, opening up and developing even more tonal character. A real winner!

    Nice job. TY.
Epiphone is making some really cool guitars. I bought an excellente about 6 months ago.... very nice guitar.... I play it often. It seems to be getting better as it ages a bit and is used. I recommend trying one.

I got one. It's heavy; about 6 pounds 4 ounces. The sound is nice through a microphone, but in-person overall it's rather quiet, as if something is restricting the sound. Have not made any changes to it yet ( to attempt to increase its 'presence'). The guitar has an impressive appearance, and therefore looks louder than it really is. Most of the reviews online, I think, are with heavy mic-ing in front of the sound hole, yet, the reviewer SHOULD be telling you how loud it is (or isn't) in their reviews.

I agree with you, it's probably still too new to tell, but it will certainly open up in time. Probably there is a pretty thick laquer finish on these... But indeed it feels heavy like a tank...

It has to be overbuilt at that weight. A D18 is a hair over 4 lbs. If this thing is 50% heavier it’s probably too stiff to vibrate freely.

I have one, demo model that is pretty much perfect/like new. One thing I noticed on all photos of these guitars is the D-string tuners alwYs seem to be a tad crooked. Is yours as well?

I returned mine so I can't look it up. But it might be the shape of the headstock that might impose that

What strings do you use? They sound really good.

Thanks, well they are the stock Gibson strings that came with the guitar - Gibson Phosphor Bronze .012" .053"

Why do all the new "inspired" Epiphones sound so unlike the actual Gibson's?

I read somewhere that the Epiphone sounds an looks better than the Gibson! Thats Amazing 😉
