We run a gleaner and we love it. It’s a r 62. We also bought a 310 versatile which we bale with. Just a good tractor. Also have a 7120 and 8930 which are the best tractors I have owned. Lots of hours on them.
I'd like to see you dumping on the go into the trucks. Less grain augering without a cart would mean less fines in the grain as well as other advantages.
80 acres of pain and suffering. I'd be interested in knowing if this is the first time the field has kicked up a fuss. Or is it the Leper Colony of the acres you farm and year after year it is the most challenging to put through the combines. There's always one.
Is it possible to to cut your swather rows narrower? It looks like your Oats are just loaded on each stalk- meaning they are being very productive running way over 100 bushels per acre. If your swather rows were narrower, would that allow you go faster with the combines, and not plugging up so easily. Especially since the weather is so against you? My dad was thrilled to have fields of winter wheat & Oates look loaded with grain, but POed when they were so heavy the stalks bent over & they went what he called flat. Then he had to Slow done his cutting speed. We didn't have dryers or moister testers right on the farm. Had to go down to the grain buyers & have him test the grain weight & moisture. content. Sometimes it meant 2-3 trips down they get the wheat or oats tested. We never swathed any grain. No one seems to do that here in Central NY. I am just amazed at the size of your field equipment & all The technology all you men need to know to run your machinery & repair your equipment. t@@TwinElmFarmstf j
@dianepeterson6313 yes, that would have been very easy to do. The biggest problem was we had to cut it so low and then we got rain and then the oats cloud never dry out. Having a smaller swath would have helped some.
Amazing that one field of oats is so different than the rest. The end is in sight. Keep your chin up !!! Thanks for the video.
