Beginning of the End is an award winning short film of a man who finds himself in a world where everyone has disappeared. As he tries desperately to find answers and any signs of others, he leaves behind a message in hopes of someone finding it.
During the height of the pandemic (2020), I decided to shoot my first short film. The pandemic and social distancing really left a lot of people feeling isolated and alone, myself included. This feeling of being so isolated, really inspired me to make this film. I worked solo on every scene and really had to plan ahead and figure out the best ways to work around being by myself. It took weeks of scouting areas and planning shots. I learned a lot and had a lot of fun.
I shot this with my Panasonic S1H and Sigma Art Primes (25f/1.4 & 50f/1.4), along with my Mavic 2 Pro. I shot this in 5.9k ProRes Raw and h.265 for the drone shots. I color graded using 55media LUTs for Lumix S and DJI Mavic 2 Pro.

One simple question, Can you record audio without buying the adapter?

Thanks! Well one option is the 1/8" mic input, which you can record audio with. It's not the best but it works. Highly recommend using an external recorder of some kind like zoom F6 or something along those lines.

Hello! I really liked the choices you made for the filming. The story is really cool and above all, what I appreciated the most is that you took your time. It is very pleasant to have time to admire the shots, to be able to dive into the story. I loved the space you permitted in the landscapes, I had the sensation to breathe. You let yourself seen without trying to force anything or to fake an emotion that we do not need. It is Brillant. Thank you for that!

I looks great. Very close to a commercial movie in terms of color grading, but the image is too dark. Even when outside it doesn't look bright enough. This camera has excellent dynamic range.

Thanks! I do agree with you that this camera has excellent dynamic range, but that doesn't mean I have to use it all 100% of the time. It was an aesthetic choice I made and really there is no right or wrong. I actually wish is was a little darker lol. Check out the color grade in the linked video on the new batman, that may blow your mind!

They were done with waypoints. I sped them up a bit to make it seem quicker than it was.
