thank you so much. With the help of this video, me my grandpa were able to replace the battery after I spilled water on it in April of last year. The chromebook can now hold its charge for 12 hours at a charge. The larger letters/numbers aligned on both the old and new battery, however the smaller letters/numbers in parenthesis did not. I was scared that it would not work, but it did.

Thanks for the vid! Btw do you happen to know what kind of screws are the ones that hold the battery in place? Last year I took my laptop to Best buy to get it fixed but when i got it back they told me they lost the screws for it and tapped it back to stay in place. I never really thought anything of it until now that my laptop is having issues charging/reading the charger. I opened it up after I watched videos in replacing the battery and realized immediately that there were no screws holding the battery in place

Is this battery still in stock? I just opened up my chromebook following the instructions of the video, only to find out that my battery is swollen up. I Bought my laptop in 2015 and I've never changed the battery. Qnd I don't know where to purchase a new battery for this chromebook in 2018

Does this Chromebook work without a battery, just plug in the power? I used to do that with other laptop, so as not to wear out the battery.

Thanks! I thought I had read that the RAM was user replaceable but I don't see it. Is it on the other side of the main board or under that keyboard or something?

I likely nuked mine with soda, I have the battery out and it's wet, then on the big green chip (mother board?) I can see some residual "dust" like what a car battery looks like when it starts to sweat.
I didn't know to unplug it and get the battery out, so this morning it was warm to the touch and reconnecting the power cord gives no lights on and a buzzing sound like an idle guitar amp.
I likely cooked it, and plan on getting a new one with the stimulus coming, but is there any advice to give for a last try? I was going to brush the couple bad spots with a dry toothbrush but is there any liquid I could use to help get the corrosion dust off? I understand if the little resistors and stuff are broken then they're broken but I'm going on the slim chance that brushing away the crap and vacuuming it will have the micro circuits no longer shorted out by the dust/corrosion.

Any idea what the cost of the battery would be at the time of availability? I'd like to get an idea of what the maintenance cost of the Chromebook would be as you mentioned about 1 year durability.
    Thanks

Anyone know if the SDram is soldered onto the board and/or if there is another RAM slot? Also, I know for Windows machines that 32-bit operating systems can only use 3GB of RAM max. Since this version of Chrome OS is 32-bit. Could I not install 4GB of RAM if I was able to install that much?

Vastroy Muntigul try going into the back of your labtop unplugging battery holding down the power button for 1 minute and 30 seconds while battery is unplugged then plugging battery back in and reassembling your computer if this doesn't work it could be hardware issues

i HATE this computer model. I have the cb311 and I also have a bigger clunkier one also. This little one has had constant issues with that stupid plug in te back. It is thoroughly useless. There are no children in this household so that is not the issue. I only use it on a table yet the plug refuses to stay plugged in. I have hd to it solidly tape it but that is a weak remedy. and even now it is "winking" at me and discharging. My old ACER still works perfectly but my dghtr thought this one would be better--IT"S NOT! Where or wheree can I buy a new cord for this stupid thing?
