That is interesting, I have seen two more of this test but aleays in Auto Área. Could be interesting to do the same in such challenging conditions but with the wide área L box to see if the recognition of the face works equally well. In doing that you would recreate the scenario you'd have for example un a wedding with lote of faces, situation in which you couldn't use the auto área Af. Great video anyway, thanks so much!!
I love the different af-c modes. I did an event shoot on 10th december. But I wasn't confident enough with the eye af. Still need to get used to it. So I went back to the AF-S Single point. Focus recompose. But I tried it out recently again, at a different event. And oh boy... it is accurate AF
Sounds like the Nikon haters have been busy on the keyboards again. I’d be happy with those results. I’m a Z6 shooter and I’m happy with that, this is a significant upgrade!,
Ohhh that’s awesome! I am Z6/7 user and i ordered a z6|| coming this week.. man this is fantastic on this money!! Also i have pre order on Z9 but this is cool.. tnx a lot
Is true! I do with my Z6 photos like other with D5 or D6.. a clovn’s bring hate on people souls to buy products from nonsense .. this video is a great job and good result to what Z6|| can do
when the first z6 release the Af was everywhere. The firmware fixed a lot of it. but now i got the z7ii i think that is even more accurate. sport mode could still be better, why the z9 is nice, but not in my budget.
@@WAPhoto Yes certainly. I was amazed at how well it could detect eyes. Conventional face detection algorithms require eyes nose and lips to be provided to the computer. But what Nikon is doing is extraordinary. Brilliant
When i use the Z6II (AF-C) eye tracking with my cats, the AF works terrible often. So many photos with focuspoint way behind the head or completely unsharp. If the cat walks up to me very slowly, 19 out of 20 photos are out of focus, despite active animal eye focus. Nikon's eye tracking is much worse than that of Sony and Canon.
Have you checked out the earlier Part 3? Tracked my dog as he ran at me. I wasn’t even using animal eye detect. Animal eye detect AF is a test for an upcoming video.
Nikon AF has improved lot. Recent firmware update for Nikon z6 was amazing. AF is so fast/accurate now.
Thnx for these AF videos…I have no issues with the autofocus either.
Good to hear!
It's a great camera with great lenses in the Z system. Ignore the naysayers and Sony shooters, Nikon works perfectly well 👌

Great final message. We are happy over here, go be happy over there and stay there, stop looking over this way just to hate, we are doing great. :)

My only trouble with the eye af on my z6ii is over 15' away, depending in the lens i guess. Sometimes i have an issue, not often

The camera is a lot more capable than influencers would have people believe!

yeah it seem all over the place with my z7ii when Im shooting my soccer games, still trying to learn it.
@@MrShaun_D1 I would do the 3d tracking like option. You hit the direction button center and it will track
Thank you 👍
You’re welcome. Animal eye detect AF tests will be interesting. Maybe some new firmware will be out soon too?

@@WAPhoto it will be interesting to see, as they now have to keep the z6ii just a little bit worse than the z9

Which lens are you using? 💯❤️
That test is with the Z mount 70-200 f2.8 S series lens.
