The faces during cutscenes don't work yet. I was talking to a modder and they're currently working on fixing it, should just be a few days. Love how the result animations work on every stage.
@@dee_dee4640 likely due to the Movie coming out soon, otherwise, they had to know Fans would drag him like they did with Sonic's friends tho to give 'em credit at least gave him some animation to default to rather than none and crashing the game, which is a fair trade
I can definitely see why they opted to keep Movie Shadow exclusive to the Tokyo level. Outside of only being limited to Keanu's voicework, Movie Shadow seems to use a completely different facial rig and facial animations compared to Shadow's main model. And they likely had no time to reanimate the in-game scenes within levels or cutscenes. It'll be interesting to see when modders will work on tweaking the Movie Shadow skin to try to fix the tumes the face starts breaking during in-game events.

I thought the DLC as it is was fine, but it definitely would’ve been better if there was an Act 2 (with two more Challenge Acts) and you could use the skin everywhere. I get that they didn’t want to make a complete set of new animations, and they probably only had Keanu in the recording booth for like a day, but still.

My guess as to why movie shadow wasn’t playable in base game is due to the Keanu reeves voice acting, there are multiple stages in the game where shadow has dialog, like every time he was sent to radical highway or in boss fights, and the selling point for this skin was Keanu reeves. (Apparently turning the dialog off was not an option) There could be other reasons, like I was thinking the animations shadow has in the aforementioned stages but I’m pretty sure u can just copy and paste them so idk..

For those who did not understand why cutscene and some animations don't work is because the base game model is different from the movie shadow model (both are different models) sonic team just retargeted some animations for the base game model to the movie shadow model.
So is this a skin mod or does it actually put the character data of Movie Shadow into these levels? I see that it gives you the option to enable doom wings here, something that the actual DLC doesn’t allow. In fact, all of your doom abilities are disabled. However, I don’t know how the game is coded some just curious how this model works.

why does shadow have 7 spines instead of 6? Why did they give his movie skin an extra middle spine? Its fairly minor, but now I cant stop seeing it. :(
@@0din176 yeah... but that's what I'm saying... why? Like his anatomy has been set in stone, same with knuckles, and amy, tails etc. They didnt give tails 1 tail or give sonic more spines, so why change shadow?

Because movie sonic's extra spine is fairly small and almost hard to see. Whereas movie shadow's is prominent, same size as the others.
Because movie shadow's model uses a completely different rig, and it'd take a ton of time to reanimate most of the game for the skin, which is really just to promote the movie. Why release the promotional skin after the movie's released, y'know?
