Nice project i need a simple remote controll like power on and off and volume up and down for amplifier. So is it possible?
Yes, that is possible.
Use the 4017 as a nine step Volume. An NE555 to toggle On / Off.
The one thing missing is decoding two channels.
Check out spec sheet of IR Receiver.

How can you match the remote control to the receiver ckt, unles it is a remote control and receiver kit you've assembled it is ended match transmitter receiver kit.
a flash light would turn it on. it's not a frequency or a PWM signal it's just ANY signal

Press any button, the receiver will detect and the ic will count the pulse. This is wired as a 1 bit counter. Initially all outputs are low, with the first detection of ir, op1 will go high, this will activate relay. With second detection op2 will get high, and this op2 is connected to reset pin of ic. So the cycle continues.

Bring atleast 4 channel, you shown on picture 4 device but you show only one its not good impression.😂
Looking at the circuit, it doesn't decode anything. A burst of any infra-red turns it on and another burst turns it off. I'd say if you hold the remote control button long enough, it will turn on then off.
Put simply, it's a single channel device and if you created a second one, keep it out of range of the infra-red or both will operate.
How do real infra-red remotes work? They use the infra-red beam to encode data that a microcontroller decodes. An infra-red receiver, an Arduino, and a bit of software would allow each button to do something different. That's how you get multiple channels.
Also, wiring mains voltage like this is extremely dangerous. Not recommended unless your will is up to date.

Stability problem. Auto on off after some time. Not perfect design. I suggest to add cd4538 with this ic to work satisfactory.

You can use the leftover wire from soldered resistors, diodes, capacitors. Every time you solder a component you can collect the remaining ends after cutting them.
It is wrong to show four devices in the thumbnail and finally show only one device. We made this device 25 years ago. 51 Projects came in the book.

U don't need ic 4017 ..the IR sensor connect direct to transistor will give same function. Why waste extra ic ?

Apne 5V ka Relay use kiya hai to Relay ke upar 10A@250VAC likha hoga... To aap 10A 250V tak load use kar sakte hai. Thanks for watching 😊

I also used the 4017 Johnson Counter for remote control airplane rx, but ~ 45 years ago. Part was HEF4017, made by phillips.

Don't do this at home. Mains supply can kill you if you are not careful. No safety at all.
Main power supply has nothing to do with this circuit as 5v power supply or battery can also be used to run this circuit which is not a danger.
