By "melody pedal" were you referring to changing the pedal every time you play a note in this section? It sounds too over powering in the first instance(harmonic pedaling) but with the melodic pedaling it brings out the melody more.
Thank you for your comment. Holding one pedal for a whole quarter overshadows the polyphony of the texture. One should not hold pedal for each harmony. I believe we should observe the rests in the left hand. Therefore, press the pedal but lift it when the left hand has silence. I hope it’s clearer.
