I know many of us have been waiting on reviews of these new E330 cameras before pulling the trigger, so thank you for posting a great review. It seems you're very happy with them. Any concerns/issues so far?
Thanks for the review, ive been waiting weeks for a video from someone. How does the recorded footage appear, is it a time line and you move a slider along a time line ? Or is it thousands of 1 or 2 min clips ? Real shame they're still heavily compressed and 15fps which really lowers the images quality
It’s basically broken up by day and is a long timeline with highlights on it for human, vehicle, and pet detections. Yeah, it’s still 15fps and about 2,400kbps but it looks pretty good overall
Any guidance connecting to power outlet outside, wire are pretty long how to hide then, 12v plug is big .cannot use power outlet near ground because some one can easily unplug them? is there any way plug inside home and just wire of camera outside.
Since it’s a laptop drive, I haven’t see any specifically rated for surveillance. I found a 5 TB model at Newegg from Seagate that has worked well so far.
@@MichaelVance thank you for the reply. I'll probably use eufy's $2.99 cloud storage monthly subscription. It's so cheap compared to Arlo at $19.99 per month for 1 camera. And they will increase it to $29.99 per month in November. This is why I'm switching to Eufy for 24/7 recording.
I currently have a eufy s220 and it’ll trigger an “event” and send a notification when motion is detected up to 26’ out. Do you happen to know if the E330 does the same witching the same distance?
Hey Michael, Thanks for the vid on the eufy camera. Great info. I plan to buy one soon, Question, you had mention about the 5 TB hard drive space will record 24/7 up to a month., What happens after a month ? does it start recording over the oldest footage ? Or do you have to go on the eufy app and format the hard drive so as to erase and make more room ? thanks, Rich
Micheal.... I noticed a few things on this install video that didn't make sense but correct me if I'm wrong. On one part of the video concerning the 120v outlet with "expandable cover" you show 2 aftermarket plugs (12v) inside the same outlet box 2:40 but on another part of your video you show only 1 plug inside of outlet box 6:00. I find it hard to believe even with the aftermarket Eufy plugs you were able to get all the excess wires from 2 cameras into one box. Please confirm because ATM I'm preparing my shopping list for 2 camera install and I really don't want to be stuck especially since I'd need to contract this out to an electrician for my outlets since Im not fotunate enough to have outlets in my eaves like you did. Great video!
Sorry for the late reply. I was able to get the two aftermarket plugs in the same box, but I wasn't able to get all of the cable in there, and had to leave that tied up next to the outlet cover.
They could have done a software update to the s330 to record 24/7 since this records straight to the hb and can be usb charged and best thing with s330 is that wouldn't need to worry about power cuts provided the hb3 has a power back up
Thanks for a great review. Do you know the maximum number of cameras that can be connected to homebase 3 simultaneously? In your video you mentioned the Dual battery doorbell’s footage can be stitched with the E330’s footage. So this would mean that at least 4 E330s and the doorbell can be connected at once?
I don’t know the maximum number, but I do have 4 E330s and the battery doorbell dual and it’s worked just fine. I think I remember reading somewhere that the max was 6, but I’d have to do some digging
Hi, not sure if your have already mentioned or replied other of this point, if you tried putting this camera in event based recording mode, can you let me know if the recoding stored in homebase 3 also includes 3 second buffer video? As when I paired homebase 3 with outdoor solo cam C24 wired, as this cam can capture initial 3 second buffer, but on homebase 3 recording, it dose not capture that 3 sec which that camera sd card recoding does. Hence i had to return homebase 3 not having this provision being a bug, which is unnecessary downgrade!
Do you still use the 5tb hdd from seagate in the hb3? I just got my e330 hb3 system and 5tb hardrives dont format and have seen other people encountering similar issues.
Hi! Yes, I’ve still been using the same 5tb drive. I haven’t had any issues with it so far. I didn’t connect it to anything before inserting it into the Homebase.
Hi, I am looking at this or the S330. I don't really want / need 24/7 recording. can you set the E330 to record on detection or movement instead of 24/7.. also is it motion detection or PIR detection built in? The S330 has a brighter lens than the E330. is the E330 still OK at night? as Tapo now have an F1.0 lens on their cheap Wi-Fi cameras, i was hoping Eufy would move in that direction, but appears not. Thanks for you review. very informative!
Well, there is one sizable drawback: There are no alternative wallmounts as the power cord wired through the mount!! So all available wallmounts out there may not work. Why do I want to have an option? Color is a major factor as white doesn't suit our house. I may find a black skin for the camera body but it seems I am stuck with the clumsy eufy one! Any thoughts?
I've found the audio recording quality is very poor with Eufy 24/7 Outdoor Cam E220 cameras I own, and have been interested if the new E330 is any better. I didn't find any portion of your RUclips video containing audio... Why is that? Did you do any testing of recorded audio???
concerning that yet again delays are being reported in responses to motion and notifications....hope that Eufy are putting some effort into resolving this as I see it in my S40. Also accessing video footage is slow.
I am one feature away from purchasing but I feel like it might never happen. I want to view the cameras 24/7 footage from my computer browser (not just the live image). And being able to see multiple live images (like the Nest cams) is very important for me
@@MichaelVance I want to say about 2 years ago you could look at recorded events in your browser. But it went away when all the security issues popped up. So I'm thinking it may have something to do with how the encryption works. That being said it should be easy and secure to let users view recorded events if they are in the same WIFI.
What happens to video if an external USB drive is connected for backup? I read somewhere that backup of videos gets converted to MP4. Can you confirm that?
You mentioned vehicle detection is built in which I want to make sure is 100% accurate before I consider buying these. I have other somewhat newer eufy outdoor cams and my biggest issue is that it will not detect vehicles as they drive up my easement which I was really hoping it would. In order to get it to work I have to set it to detect all motion which triggers dozens of false notifications each day when the sun moves and changes a shadow just slightly or if the wind blows a branch on the tree.
I’ve noticed that it works well as long as you don’t park your car in the view of the camera. Other motion tends to set it off and then it will see a vehicle and then alert you. If you park in the garage, it isn’t an issue and notifications are accurate.
How do you connect them to the home base 3 I can’t find the new cameras on the list in the eufy app so I can’t set them up is there something I’m doing wrong???
@@MichaelVance thank you for replying back I was able to set them up for some reason I had to delete the app and re install it and then it appeared in the eufy app so not sure if it was a glitch or something but all set now thanks
Can you turn off the spotlight feature? I would want to use these as indoor cameras that record, and wouldnt want the spotlight to disturb us at night.
Looking to install these indoors without a need for color at night. Do you know if there’s a way to disable the LEDs without turning on at night and without the LEDs will the camera show in black-and-white? ??
24/7 is nice, but more than that id simply like to store footage from before and after an event. so for each event have a 30 min footage buffer stored before and after that is kept and throw away the rest. ill never go through 24/7 video data but for something weird that might happen id definitely need that buffer of that footage.
It will record to the homebase, but the cameras can connect to your WiFi instead of the base station directly if the camera is placed far away from the base station.
Thanks! That's the first I've heard from anyone on it. I've actually using a cheap $50 Deity D4 Mini Mic, but I'm running the audio through the free Adobe Podcast AI audio tool.
Both great questions. If I have the cameras at a different angle, I think they would read the license plates. I know a lot of people have put SSDs in them, but I don’t think it would make a major difference over a hard drive.
So far they have been really good! I still have them installed all around my house. No issues, but I heard that the cross camera tracking feature might not be free and they may charge a subscription for it which is really disappointing.

So now I see these and these seem to address the issues I had which most important are the same issues you had with recognizing motion. now I’m tempted to get these and their cheaper what do you think?
I think they might work well for you. If you’ve had issues with Eufy AI before, Im not sure if these would fix your problems, but Eufy AI has worked great for me
These cameras cost a good amount less than the S330’s. It’s powering them that will be the tricky part for most people. Not everyone will have power outlets under their eaves of their homes. As an owner of six S330’s I would very much like them to include the stitching feature. That said I think I will purchase two of these E330’s.
Some people do not understand that just saying " this is not sponsored" does not negate that the item was provided for free, and in turn a review is being provided, sooo yes this is sponsored, because he did not pay the $600 for the setup.( so he was paid $600 for this. Oh and for not being sponsored, he seems to have affiliate links directly to Eufy. But whatever, I've seen plenty of reviews on this already and he for sure ignores all the faults of this system that ALL other reviews mention, So again, sponsored because when you have nothing but Eufy's talking points and just say " how excited you are" is super obvious.
Thanks for the feedback Patrick. I like making videos showing off products, but I hardly make anything from ad revenue so when I’m offered a product to review that I don’t have to pay for I jump at the opportunity as long as I am allowed to express my unfiltered opinion. I stick the affiliate link down there in hopes of generating revenue so I can make more videos and grow the business. I’m sorry spending my free time trying to help you caused so much offense.
Do you need to connect to the internet? That worries me. Why would it need internet access if the hub acts as a router? Making it a requirement to connect to the Internet makes me question what data they are collecting.
That is a fair concern. Yes, you do need to be connected to the Internet, notifications, and remote play wouldn't work without it. Its a trade off for features.
I wouldn’t say it’s twice as good, but there is an improvement. I have a wired 2K cam also in the front yard, and there is a noticeable difference with the 4K models
@@MichaelVance Very good! That is the reason I want to replace my Eufy C24 outdoor cameras, because they record events but many never reach my phone even when I'm inside on the same network.
If the camera records 24/7, how can I find a specific event if I need to? Also, how can I delete all the useless recording to free memory on the homebase?
It will give you detections in the timeline to make it easier to find things, and the home base will automatically overwrite the oldest videos, so there's no need to free up space. Thanks for watching!
I have set mine up now, and I'm really pleased with the video quality and notifications. My only issue so far is that the spotlight doesn't come on during night mode any more; it did for the first two days, and then stopped. There's been a firmware update on the homebase, so maybe that caused the issue. Anyway, it's very frustrating that this has stopped working.
Thank you for you response. I was wondering when they say 24/7 recording that means it will record either there is a motion or not it’ll record 24/7 right?

What are you using to roll up and hide the excess cables? Can you provide a link to it?
I just stuck the extra cable inside of the outlet cover. I’ve got a link in the description.
How's the quality vs their 2k offering? Any huge difference?
RUclipsr LifeHackster does a great job comparing Eufy 2K and 4K systems
I wouldn’t say it’s twice as good, but there is an improvement. I have a wired 2K cam also in the front yard, and there is a noticeable difference with the 4K models
Have you found any delivery persons were able to avoid detection so you received no phone alert?
I haven’t yet, so far it’s been catching them every time which is exactly what I wanted!
@@MichaelVance Very good! That is the reason I want to replace my Eufy C24 outdoor cameras, because they record events but many never reach my phone even when I'm inside on the same network.
How is your multi-bridge option not in beta while mine still is?!
I'm guessing it was because I was using the beta version of the app since the camera wasn't out yet when I reviewed it.
can you choose between 24/7 recording and event?
Yes, I believe you can, but there are cheaper options if you’re not wanting 24/7 recording
Is it 24/7 non stop recording in 4k? Or only triggered captures in 4k?
24/7 nonstop recording in 4K
@@MichaelVance okay thank you so much
@@MichaelVanceI don’t think it dose that. Only when it detects something it will trigger. Correct me if I’m wrong.
That’s really strange. I’m glad you like them tough!
Is it there other way to connect them besides power outlets?
No, they have to be connected via power outlets. The S330 is better if you need a wireless solution.
You could try power banks that has 12v output connections,
How fast are the phone notifications?
They have been really quick for me. I have thumbnails turned on as well, and they have typically come across in 2-3 seconds.
At what frame rate does it record in?
15fps
why didnt they do poe????
Assuming it's wired there is no battery?
Yes, this one is wired. There are some other Eufy cameras that are wireless/solar powered.
why was is the cable needed?
These require a power cord for continuous power to record 24/7.
Hello what is the sd slot on the camera
Right now I don’t think it’s usable. I read somewhere that they would be adding support for it later on.
Thank you for you response. I was wondering when they say 24/7 recording that means it will record either there is a motion or not it’ll record 24/7 right?
Can you buy skins for these?
I don't know of any, but I'd like to get some black ones if they ever become available.
Are they IP67?
Yes, they are IP67.
