He's a weird bloke Fox. He got booted out of school, but got a second chance and went to drama school. He did quite well out if it. Most people would think 'Phew...that was close...I could have binned everything there'. He's also one of a large family of successful actors, and could had a nice career that many aspiring actors would love to have.
Then he started saying stuff that wasn't written down beforehand and it all went downhill.
I wonder what drove him to say, 'Hey, I'm a thespian. But that shouldn't stop me from wading into some really difficult subjects. Hand me the microphone'.

The whole idea that watching men dressed as women is harmful is ridiculous. We have this from way back in ancient Greek times, when women roles were played by men. On the other side of the world, Chinese opera has a similar tradition until it was deemed socially acceptable for women to act. In Japan, some of the most historically prominent geisha were men. Closer to modern times, how many times have Monty Python cross-dressed? Did anybody throw their arms up at movies like Mrs. Doubtfire or BIg Momma's House?

I'm happy with the ruling, but your argument is problematic. In ancient Greek times men may have acted as women on stage, but the Greeks also had pederasty which many would call harmful today, they had slavery, for example the Spartans enslaved the Helots, again many would call this practice harmful, probably they were a bit racist... and so the argument that if the ancient Greeks did it it can't be harmful doesn't stand.
(I shouldn't just criticize ancient Greece, in Shakespearian England men portraying women on stage was the norm, but slavery was commonplace in the empire as was religious bigotry)

I think your conclusion is a bit flawed, I don't think the court concluded that the public already thought Foxy was a racist, they concluded that Fox's own utterances are already consistent with such a perception and therefore the defendant did not defame him, he accurately characterised him. I haven't looked into this beyond a few clips though, so I may be wrong.

I've just watched a video of an interview with a mother whose son was attacked, stabbed, and left for dead by nine teenagers. They posted the attack on social media. Their sentence was a £50 fine and an apology letter. Hurty words between adults in this case is worth millions, but a vicious attack on a childs life is worth £50. That just doesn't seem right to me.
And thank heavens he lost, or I wouldn’t know of him and his remarkable music and opinions. Bless him. I’m indigenous and bisexual btw…
I like Laurence Fox . It is many things I find difficult with this woman in pink . It very over , scary , intimidating however many people I know are not bothered.
